Race Start Procedure:

The BMW's will hit Start to ghost after the 3-2-1-Go countdown. The Vipers will pull away and stay in the same order as dictated by the 1 quali lap we're doing. The Vipers will stay in this order and do 2 laps at 70% race-pace.

When the Vipers reach the final chicances 90deg right-hander (Arnage) on their 2nd lap, the BMW's will proceed in staggered formation, and their race will begin when the pole sitter crosses the Dunlop tire in the 1st sector.

The Vipers will resume staggered formation and slow to 80mph/130kph at the final chicanes. They will also start when their pole sitter crosses the Dunlop tire.

By starting the Vipers behind the BMW's on-track, there will be more time allowed for the Viper pack to spread out when the BMW's have their first encounter at overtaking the slower class.

To clarify - there will be 13 racing laps? Or, do the Vipers formation laps count as part of the 13?

The BMW's will do 13 racing laps and the Vipers will do 11, after their 2 formation laps.

Race room open:

1472-6399-8665-9409-4139

Currently 11:30am in game-time and the sun is moving quick. ;)

5min quali period begins 1hr10min from now.

Damn I just noticed we're at 17 confirmed...there's no way we're splitting into 2 rooms for this event, so first-come first-served.

Compete in WW only when there is a spot free just before quali. EU is for sure I can drive. Thought that I already had registered but did not. :irked:

There's 3 spots open right now, @Meister Fetz and @RoeszaGT go ahead and join. Given how certain people have abused the confirmed vs reserve statuses in the past, I'm OK with reserves joining now.

1 spot free, crispy had to leave to change oil but he'll be back

Take my place @RoeszaGT Johan! Actually I really hate my 4G Internet connection at home...

EDIT: Good Luck everybody!! Seems I have to wait for wednesday, but I didn't expect me being home in time today anyways - trying to hit some nice TT laps instead ;)

:ouch:2d confirmed race that I have been bumped from. See ya all tomorrow.
Bummed

Might switch to the Williams BMW for the Wednesday NA race (if I can make it...another round of injections in my spine (hopefully they schedule it early in the day so I can rest up and let the drugs wear off by the time the flag drops)).

The Viper was awesome, but I would have liked it even better with more seat time this week.

Agreed the vipers lead was to much for the bmw's to catch up on the last lap but in @Gravitron defence the vipers only lose 30mph to the bmw on the straight but in the corners they are just as quick and have little to no time drop off as the tyres stay at 9s a small adjustment in the time that the bmw leaves the grid will sort that out and make a very close race on Wednesday .

Maybe 2-3 laps more would do it? Or BMW,s start after 1,5 lap.

Great race. If we dont count in the formation lap's' misunderstood the start, when I thought BMWs would be driven away a little before. I'm sorry if it gave any problems :banghead:

Have switched my registration for the 5th to the BMW, have grown quite fond of it whilst trying to improve upon my TT times :D

Very intense racing last night. I thought there was a risk of being alone for most of the time in such a long track, but that actually never happened. Skyline regained second place from me pretty soon being a lot faster than me usually, and couldn't resist Pekka's comeback form the back of the pack either, but had fun trying both times. Could catch up with Pekka after a few laps but he was untouchable on the straights, giving me enough draft to catch up but not to overtake. I was running a lot more downforce but if I hadn't gone off track at the last lap we would have finished pretty close to one another.
Great racing after a chaotic start :gtpflag:

I started off well, even getting enough on the draft coming out of the first chicane that I passed two cars. Of course, I promptly overcooked the brakes at the end of the straight--ending up in the sandbox and solidifying my position as the back marker. I'm with @OpticZero in the "needed more seat time" school. I think they're naming a wing of that school after me:dopey:

I didn't know we'd get to drive at night for this one. I had to snap some pics. Enjoy! :gtpflag:

Cancelled - call it being a sore loser, call it me throwing my toys out of the pram, call it what you will. I can't face the race after the trauma of my failure at the TT
