Just drove my personal best on 2 sectors, improved my best lap by .1xx and forgot to save best replay before I pressed exit to go view my new glorious lap.. no words describe this feeling I'm having right now..

..:banghead:

Done that before.

Just want to say thank you to those earlier in the thread who strongly recommended using L2/R2 for brake/accelerate. Decided to give it a go and, after 15 laps, I am only a couple of tenths down on before...but am much quicker through turn 1 and, more importantly, more in control due to being able to press both buttons at once. It's going to take a while to fully adapt (and for hands to adapt as it makes them ache!) but I can definitely see it is quicker. Thanks again

Done that before.

Needless to say, overexcitement got me as I haven't seen improvement in a while. Well at least now I know .0xx T1 isnt totally impossible for me (doesn't really comfort).

The good thing about stuff like that is you can usually repeat it soon after. At least that has been my experience with missed saves or dirty laps I thought were clean. Shake it off! :dopey::tup

Lost .1 in S1, gained it back in S2 for a really similar split, and gained another .3 to the line. Getting really close to my ultimate.

I cant seem to get a handle on this car it wont hold a slide all the way around a corner and it wont holds its grip all the way around. I have run countless laps since I set my last times and I cant beat them AAAARRRRGGGGGHHHHH :banghead:
It is a fun yet frustrating combo.

You were right, managed to continue my good run after that setback, wasn't able to repeat my best T1, but got a massive improvement on T2!

I'm finding that if I keep my steering and pedal angle it doesn't matter if it slides or not, it goes where I want (hope?). I do this through 1 and 2 and while there is plenty of smoke and noise I can repeat it and run consistently between 2 and 4 tenths in that sector. And I get something pretty to watch in the replay. :D

The downhill in T3 is a bit more of a chuck-and-hope with the grass and gravel but I've been applying the same principle and making excellent progress.

Not that I'm a guru but hopefully some of that changes the way you're looking at it.

Did a couple laps tonight and managed to improve a bit, getting under 50s at second split.

Stayed on the tarmac in the entire first sector, as I my turn-in rhythm was a bit too late in the esses, but still my best first sector. Have managed a better second sector though.

If I recall correctly, my pb was done not very long after starting. So while the hours upon hours method might yield a short term result, I'm going to do 5 min. (or <3 full laps) once or twice a day the rest of the week.

Still can't seem to quite get the first sector very consistent. Whenever I get around 24.2 I just give those two tenths back later on. At least tonight I was able to post my top five times and consistently come within two tenths lap after lap. That's gotta be worth something right?

BTW- What do the colored times on the leader boards indicate?

I'm considering to stop practicing for this time trial because I feel like it might kill my old DFGT. The feedback already is very weak and this combination may be to harsh to withstand.

Some improvement at last!!!

Not much in sectors 1 and 2 but three tenths better at the finish line
Turning TC off did the trick

I managed to get a 24.2 S1, then but 49.2xx for S2, then completely ruined sector 3. Rally struggling to regulate the brake pedal on my old driving force pro. I reckon there is approx .6 on the overall lap for me to get. Nearly half a second in 1 and 2. I can't wait until I can use my new t500. Really happy with my current ranking, I just hope my S3 is comparable to those around me.

Good luck to all!

I know the feeling! I've managed to get some pretty good T1's, then a really good T2 and probably a couple decent T3's too, but none of them on the same lap, it's really hard to string it all together. It feels like all the good last sector times I get are on otherwise average laps. I'm guessing it's the pressure from seeing myself being ahead on T1/T2 that can easily ruin the last third of the track.

It's going to be interesting to see the final results, as it's the full laptimes that matter in the end. :)

Online race thread for this event is now live:
GTP WRS-Online Event 1 : BallS1 to the Wall - January 29, 2014

This is our first official event in GT6. The previous weeks were for fun and for teaching/welcoming new guys. As such there are some new areas of the OP, so you'll want to read through the entire thing.

Relevant to this thread, as long as we can field more than 16 racers per timeslot, we have a new method for splitting lounges where your Time Trial result here can directly influence which lounge you end up in.

See the thread for all the details. :gtpflag:

S1 is actually worse than before but improved S2 to get under 50s... And gained half a second at the line! Will have one last go on sunday, hoping theres more to come as iv had 24.3xx S1s before!

PB in T1 - I don't know how I managed such a great T1, but it just flowed, then I screwed up a bit in T2 and managed only about a tenth and a half over the line. Still more time out there especially in T2  I'm just really struggling to get there now.

24.283
49.700

This might be my last update, will keep trying over the weekend when I can get time, but I don't know if I'll be able to improve any more.

I put togather alot better lap times this time around and put down one good clean lap. 1st sector hit or miss for me I can't get any better or worse. 2nd I keep making ground on little by little.

T1:25.162
T2:50.862

Another 180 miles this evening (389 running total) and the story of a nice lap spoilt by a crappy hairpin. Net result - gained a bit, lost a bit, gained a bit for a 0.100 improvement at the line...

Saw a couple of .1's in T1 and .4's in T2 so looking for another 0.15 on the lap realistically.

Race on

New ones. These are actually going to drop me down the order, as it looks. But my final lap time has improved by quite a bit, so here I post. Have seen some .2's in T1, but cannot connect them to a lap. Will work on that this weekend. :mischievous:
