Awful Splits, here they are:

T1: 1'03.045
T2: 1'52.952

It's not the Manual that's got me this week, it's the F430's weird balance of dynamics. I get awful oversteer and understeer with the car.

Car control is the name of the game with the F430. Make sure you brake on time (Earlier than you think), otherwise understeer will happen. And DON'T GET ALL THE WAY ON THE THROTTLE until you have the wheel straight, otherwise oversteer will happen.

You just can't put yourself in the mindset of waiting until the last second to brake, and then getting right back on the gas. Slower and smoother with both will help you control the car and improve your times.

No harm in making a small drift video for us :D

You should have a drift video in every OP of the WRS

Thanks for the vote of confidence... but I'm struggling to keep this car pointing in any direction. Forwards, sideways, its all bemusing me! I never thought that this combo would be easy, but to be so far off the pace after my first stint is a bit disheartening. Not suprising though, I havent been keeping myself in practice of late! Only myself to blame!

Here are my first splits anyway. Clean and tidy, but not really pushing any limits. The car is just too wild for that at the moment!

T1: 59.501
T2: 1'47.292

Thanks EDK, I'll keep this in mind as I'm probably gonna be fighting with the F430 all week.

Finding my feet or should I say grip. :)

Still rubbish through 'S' curve and gyaku and sideways through part of spoon. :grumpy:

T1 shows how bad I am in 1st sector lot of work to do there .5 to find I hope, nice combo for WRS 100 Kevin 👍

T1: 0'58.822
T2: 1'46.396

Found a little bit, but almost come to a stop at the hairpin 27mph :dunce:

T1: 0'58.699
T2: 1'46.198

Two 30 minute sessions yielded following splits:

T1: 1'00.282
T2: 1'48.780

*checks leaderboard*... Yep, I seem to be using the correct specs this week :P

Since now that GT5 is almost one month away, need to start getting back into WRS. Good Luck to everyone!

20 minute session. Managed the following;

Edit: splits deleted as no time to devote this week (man flu!)

I have gone quicker but I keep dipping a wheel in the dirt in the braking zone for the last chicane and spinning out.

The car handles great until the Spoon Corner but drifting is fun right? :)

Well, after 2 sessions I'm not too impressed with myself.

T1 0'59.862
T2 1'48.467

And that hairpin is a PITA, this was the slowest I ever took it... :yuck: Just can't put it all together in a good lap. Hope I get a chance to put in more time.

Hi

Not raced since early weeks. Just thought id check to see how things are going. Cant believe its week 100!

And i remember this challenge as the qualifier for the series.

I'll be entering this one in preperation for GT5.

Yeah I hope i'll get activated this week so this will be my first WRS :)

I have a good idea for the week of GT5 Release, thinking about something
20km long somewhere in northern germany, also called the "Green Hell" :mischievous:

Gentlemen, start your engines

By the way: are you guys playing with steering-wheel ?

Slowly getting up to speed on this now. I've seen plenty of 59.1xx's but every time i arrive at the hairpin i seem to take a different line. Really hard to be consistent there. I rekon i'll struggle to get into the 1'45.xxx's, but a nice low 46 will do me this week, as always, its just a case of stringing my best sectors together.

Good luck to everyone. I'll be back tonight with some split improvements 👍

Well I had a small session last night, and I have to say using the H pattern is not easy. I will be home soon to. Try some more :).

I was just wondering who enters the Split times to the leaderboard when we only have to submit the lap-time :)

My (slow) splits:
T1: 1'02.853
T2: 1'54.153

Played with G25 and Sequencial Paddels, TC off (got crazy without ASM ;-))

Just to tired today.. I hope in GT5 it's easier to get your Split-times, I missed them like three times.

Btw: I'm in division 4 bronze for the stats.

Edit: oh my.. I have to improve my stats, can't be the slowest ;-)

And I'm using steering wheel, don't know what happend to my sig.

Check out the WRS leaderboard thread, I think Joost tells how it works in there.

A bit non-committal into Degner 1 and slid into Spoon 2. Got the hairpin right though!

T1: 1'00.799
T2: 1'49.938

I have a confession... I initially dreaded this on the back of last week. But I'm actually really enjoying this combination, never thought I'd get to grips with the F430 but there we are. I have run a 1.48.9xx T2 time, just ran too wide into 130R to make it count. So hopefully can shave another second off if I put it all together.

First session, only a 10 lapper, gave me these first splits,

59.076
1'46.907

Really enjoying this as I didn't get the chance to run it as the qualifier when I joined GTP 👍

Update: Had another run, got 15 laps in until my fingers started cramping up. Might have to turn the ffb down next time ,

58.818
1'46.579

Not sure what's gone wrong with the leader board but my post looks okay :ill:

Update:

T1: 0'59.997
T2: 1'49.574

Can't believe my T1 split given a big slide into T3. And plenty more to come from the next two sectors, I've done one lap 0.8 faster but it's marginal as to if its clean, plus it's messy and I'm not proud of it. Does anyone else get frustrated at 'worse' but faster laps?
