@GTP_Nail I know Snetterton quite well. About 45m from me. Did a Bike trackday once. Put myself with the 'slow' group on my ER-5. How they chuckled. I used to be a courier. I'm no legend on 2 wheels but it was great fun hounding the little boys on big toys through the complex up to the chicane. Got blown out of the water on the rest of the track though!

In my case it was winter spring 1971 . I was undergoing pilot uprade training in the KC-135 tankers ( Boeing 707). I was off every weekend so I drove 4 hours from The Big Valley then over the Techachipe pass and down into the High Desert on Fridays, stayed in a flea bag motel in Rosamond and lived my dream on Saturday and Sunday and then a bleary eyed drive back to my “ day job”.

I made this same tired drive (Mk. 1 GTI) in the late 80’s to early 90’s to Pt. Mugu Naval Air Station for years. Good times... No A/C too...
