o cheers for noticing that guys only just got my computer back so thanks for getting that sorted :)!

Excellent time Rutter, I actually thought to myself mid week "I need a 51.1" so I kinda laughed when I saw your lap time hehe :), well played!

I'll get my replay sorted out ASAP :).

Thanks Joost! Congratz to Gravitron for inching me out by a hundredth for D3 gold... you must have made up almost 0.3 in T3... I knew my T3 was pretty weak, but thought the margin from T1/T2 was enough not to put in more laps... won't let that happen next week

Wouldn't it be awesome if you could load up an entire set of ghost replays at once in the replay center and watch them together... It would be really cool to watch our submitted replay ghost laps "compete" in real time on the track. That would be worth exporting to encoded video and including in the leaderboard site. I'd love to see what 0.01 looks like and how Gravitron passed me coming to the line. I guess for now I'll have to just imagine 💡

Great first week WRP001, I'm as surprised as you! :sly: You might be able to load your replay and mine into the data logger, not sure. Until GT5 has the ability you speak of, Speedy6543's comparison video's are amazing:

I look forward to more battles with you and the D3 crew! I can assure you I won't be doing very well with the Ford GT this week. :nervous:

Hey again,

Hope this has worked didn't realise my PS3 folder had a few replays on, on my MP3 player so I have narrowed it down to this replay as it has todays date on. Sorry if it's wrong, if it is I will reupload.

Congrats Gravitron on immediately moving to the top of D3 in your first race! 👍 Mighty close on that first corner, but in my opinion, from those pics, it looks to be all good.

Congrats also to WRP001 for a podium right from the start and with such a close finish to the line with Gravitron! Also a special mention to Poolhaas, who like Gravitron, immediately shot up near the top of D3 after their promotion. 👍

Congrats also to all podiums and to Rutter for the overall win.

I won't be submitting a replay [so black-flag me] due to the fact I deleted it when I observed that a replay wasn't needed from me as I was in 5th place. I did find later that the 5th place was because of the unaccounted for top two D4 positions. Stupidly, I assumed that Gravitron and Poolhaas was running in D4 and their promotions had not taken effect. And, yes, I saw their D3-icon on the boards. Like I said, me :dunce:

Of course, I learned later that that was not the case after seeing later posts reflecting that, but it was too late. I have since been trying to salvage the replay with the "utilities" tool, but to no avail. Nobody's fault but mine. I won't be so hasty to hit "delete" next time.

EDIT: I did mange to find a replay .009 slower but no match with the entry time. :indiff:

Great driving here guys 👍 If I can offer any advise it is that yous rushed into the corners therefore losing out on exit speed and with the long straights at Monza that's a killer. This is where I was going wrong at the beginning.

Martin I tried your replay but it wouldn't work for me.

Thanks Yanaran for checking my replay.

Rutter - big 👍 from me. Not often the winner checks replays - kudos

EDIT: oh, and double kudos for the replays being from other divisions rather than just your direct competitors :)

Cheers Rutter for checking, I'll upload it again tomorrow apologies for that my mistake ^^.

I asked the same thing last week, so I'll just quote Joosts reply, he's talking about my handicap so just change my numbers for yours and hopefully it makes sense.

Thanks for the answer. So if I'm reading this correctly, anytime you have a - (negative) number. This indicates you were faster than your own personal handicap?

Sorry for the questions. Ran WRS quite a bit in GTP but this is my 1st week running in GT5. We didn't have this handicap system back then. Although I will say its pretty cool.

Your understanding is correct Jeremie...

20--1'53.370---GTP_accessraider r=3.481 (d3/-0.140)

If you subtract one from the other, you'll also get your handicap going into each week i.e.

3.481 - (-0.140) = 3.621

If you'd have performed worse than your handicap by a similar amount, then the math would get you to the same place, and would look something like...

GTP_accessraider r=3.761 (d3/0.140)

3.761 - 0.140 = 3.621

Note that the division number will also change (d3/0.140) if you achieve a handicap of greater than 4, as it would indicate you'd run a division 4 time and not a division 3 time.

Hope that all makes sense - just trying to help the busy admin :)

Visual specs/time match....pleasurable lap to watch!

Thank you Dan. Sorry about you losing your replay.

So what is the protocol for reviewing the replays? Is it just volunteer work and first come first serve or are replays assigned in some way? I'd like to pull my weight around here, but don't want to step on any feet.

Yep, just first come first serve, but be aware that you can obviously only check NTSC replays.

Great! Thanks for the answers.

Here's another question I'm sure has been answered already somewhere.

Handicap I guess starts off based on your qualifier lap. Then does it adjust as you improve? Or only change when promoted to another division?

I feel like such a newbie.:dopey:

Jeremie

Changes every week that you submit a time for and if you improve enough you get promoted. Once your's goes below 3.33 then at the round of promotions after that event you should get up to D3 Gold, and so on.

Note that because you beat your HC by 0.14 this week, it does not translate that your HC will improve by the same amount, as the HC is weighted in favour of the qualifier.

Congrats to all division winners and podiums 👍
I had run some laps late in the week, then for the first time forgot to submit :banghead:. Not that my lap was anything special but still I specially put a hour aside for this weeks combo :dopey:.
Too much real life, not enough GT Life :grumpy:.
 to all

Well done to everyone who took part. Here is my replay.:)

Replay checked aswell:-

You certainly took turn 1 differently than me, but as you are faster than me I am not really in a place to comment on your lap.:sly:

Not much to say really, just a solid lap.👍

While I could give advice myself, I think watching someone else's replay or even a few of them may be the best thing. That said I improved simply by driving more aggressively and through lots and lots of practice, it really is important if you want to improve.:)

:

ahh nice one it worked for you cheers for checking. Well I found that if you Scandinavian flicked it perfectly into Turn 1 you can get a 31.1xx out of it as it meant I was ultra tight on the first turn and meant a much reduced turning angle on the second corner. But I made a mistake on that one and ran a bit wide but the rest of the lap was pretty decent especially my last sector :P. Could have got a 1:51.1xx but Rutter could have gone faster to but it's just about putting that lap together :D.

Apologies for not checking replays this week I've just been ridiculously busy this week with still trying to get my hacked email account back, computer being repaired and finding a job/doing some contract work its like 7-6 daily at the moment, will get some time next week to check some replays :).

I had a bunch of laps that were a little slower, dirtier, etc, but I'm submitting this fastest lap of mine with supporting photos of the only real close-call, Turn 1. Looking at this for over 2 hrs, I couldn't find any spot that was dirty. The stepped rumbles make it difficult, so I'm taking a chance at a 2nd DQ. Not a good practice, but I think it's clean. As such, I will go along with whatever the reviewer and Admin's think is best.

My NTSC replay, suffix 019.

I really didn't want to be the one to review Gravitron's replay since it's my first week, we were 1/2 in Division 3, plus it's obviously a very close replay based on those photos and I have no experience with the replay system, but I gave it a try.

I get the replay files fine on a usb stick and it shows up in the saved game utility with proper summary information, but when I try to copy it on the PS3 I keep getting a "The data is corrupted" message. I re-downloaded and repeated the process over with the same result. As a test I downloaded A7XMaverick's replay from last week and it loaded fine so I don't think there is anything wrong on my end.

Can anyone else see if they can get the NTSC replay loaded on their PS3? Gravitron, you may need to re-export your replay data and post it again unless it's just me.

FYI -- I also noticed the leaderboard didn't recognize that Gravitron posted a replay, could that be related?
