GTP_WRS Week 2 : FXXza Irresistibile!

Ugh, been a horrible day for me this one, I'm glad it's soon over. I'm starting to believe that it was someone else who drove my previous best lap as I've been so far away from it today that it's driving me crazy.

Averaging around .4 behind just on the first sector, how is that even possible? Just a bit under 1 sec behind on most of my todays T2's, which is quite sad too. One thing that is, in fact even worse, is that on quite many of my todays laps I've managed to get worryingly close to my ghost on the last sector, which only leads to the fact that my best laps T3 must be absolutely horrendous.

I had one of these awful days on the first WRS too, so maybe it's all good tomorrow. It just has been so weird today. I've felt like I'm going fast, but when I've seen the split it has been quite the opposite. Maybe I'm just trying to force myself to improve, in stead of just doing my best and see what happens.

Gained 0.066 at the line. A bit tentative coming out of the first chicane, plus a skid coming out of the second part of Lesmo. With a perfect T1 and T2, I think a low 1'00.8xx or even a 1'00.7xx second split is possible.

EDIT: Found two tenths in T3 on an otherwise bad lap. Looks like I have three tenths to chase...

I feel as if I am doing the whole of T2 terribly wrong, I don't really have a technique for any corner apart from chuck it in and hope for the best so I need to improve there. This was a pretty bad T1 compared to what I've been running all night but I know where I've gone wrong so no problems there, I'm probably leaving around 0.8 for the full lap but need to learn T2 before I find what's missing in T3.

Argh... set a lap 0.165 faster at the line, only to find I cut the second chicane a tiny bit too much. Good thing it's now possible to delete the ghost without having to exit.

EDIT: A few laps later, I managed a 1'00.850 second split only to mess up in T3.

I chased, chased, chased & finally, after more hours of chasing & swearing (I'm good at that last part ) I'm proud to say I am done with this week. Changed the time when I went down & up gears, went smoother through the corners & smashed a good .5 at the line.

I went to save my lap but it doesn't give me the option to save my best lap, only save replay. I'm in Arcade Mode TT...what am I doing wrong?

...this car handles like crap. There is no way I'll be able to handle this in an actual race, if they use this car for next week's race.

EDIT---I restarted the PS3 and magically I was able to Save Best Lap Replay. I did the EXACT same thing as before but it just wasn't there the first time. I've never-ever seen this game just lose a race option before, so you can see my confusion.

I am feeling very frustrated with myself this week. Normally I progress nicely as the week goes along, this week I put up a time in my first 10 laps on the board. Since then I have run or attempted to run countless laps and have seen a .1 improvement. Hopefully something will click over the weekend, and I can knock a few more tenths off.

A couple of weeks ago someone suggested turning the suggested gear indicator off for better times. I tried this last night because I couldn't get the first chicane right. Once I found a good braking points I knocked nearly 2 seconds off my previous best. Still not good enough to post though. I shall leave it turned off in future.

I did this before the first (Apricot Hill) time trial at least. Haven't put it back on since (in GT6) even as a lot of the tracks in the game are not all that familiar to me yet. I guess the rewards are still a ways off.
