I have to say, having completed 5 tentative laps this morning in a very brief taster session in the DB9, when everything goes to plan it's a beautiful combo and incredibly satisfying.
I did however make tonnes and tonnes of mistakes in my first tester laps (hence only 5 laps completed!) and foresee an incredible amount of difficulty for me this week. Suzuka is definitely the final frontier when it comes to pad/wheel transition. Turn 1 is just a massive pot of possibilities at the moment: Too wide gravel, too tight inner gravel, too slow early apex, too fast wide exit. This was so much easier on Sixaxis I must say. This is such a complex corner, I am watching the speedo, watching my line as I continuously turn in, trying to nail an invisible braking point for the second apex, trying to gently come off the brakes...man.
Congratulations to the top D2 runners for their incredible times already. I'm very far from being able to post any splits, but I am really looking forward to my first proper session.
All the best
