Stay in 4th at the dip up the hill, i slightly tap the brakes and turn as soon as the rumble strip of the dip come into view...
I've tried both staying in 4th and jumping back to 3rd, I'm just wondering if the extra revs climbing the hill are useful? I've not noticed much difference to either approach but I am curious what others think?

You guys are very quick...since my holidays I cant get back on track....too many things are disturbing me.....first I forgot to drive in the holidays, second my wife bought me a PS4 and now I'm jumping from console to console, third its summer here and I wanna really enjoy the sun and the long day, fourth it get dark am 10.30 pm, and I only like to drive when its dark outside... oh yes, and fifth there are a lot of festivals and concerts at the moment and curiosly I have a hangover the next day....

but I will try to get back on track and winter is coming :)

FIRST splits?

Oh dear
First ones but as i said, the time is hard to find, especially in turn 5. Maybe i should risk a bit more there  anyway, this combo is pretty cool but lets me restart nearly every 2nd lap

I enjoy the fact the car seemed so skittish when I first ran with it, but now I'm chucking it into the corners and getting on the gas earlier and earlier. It's a very good point and squirt car.

Saw you were on last night. Get any faster?
I hit my overall lap time goal last night. It's all gravy from here on. I plan on taking a few days away and giving it the beans on Sunday. Hoping to find another .4

Nah, and I don't feel I can get anywhere close to your Division 1 splits. Tell me you are getting promoted soon, won't you?

C'mon Ned you are faster than this...:mischievous:

Sorry for the double post fellows
That was the...I am never going to be late again post. More to come but still have to test at Madrid, test the Pagani for WGTC and test the Silvia for GTCC. And I quit two other series so I could do this and the WGTC. WHEW!

New splits, lost a bit in T3.

27.717
53.383
1'14.883

I've got no idea how to take T1 :dunce: Got one single .5xx there, but .7's are most likely atm...

This week is probably the absolute max of my skill. I know the track better than all the others combined and there is no tuning involved.

In GT5 I used Laguna as my test track. I compiled a decent sized spreadsheet of lap times across all PP levels with stock cars or cars with "Sport Suspension", etc. Nothing that involved tuning. I logged a couple thousand laps there, so I know it well.

Next week will probably be Motegi or some other nonsense and I'll fall back in line. I'm still not sure my time will be all that great in the end anyway. As the week goes, everyone gets faster. I probably peaked too early.

The "secret" I've found, if I have indeed found one, is do multiple laps with no resets. And you can ALWAYS get into the gas sooner than you think...point and shoot. Use the slippery tires in the rear to your advantage to get that thing through the turns. And get a good feel of the weight shift and get it settled before you hit the brakes.

To me there's loads of grip, so I wouldn't know where to begin; in turn 3 the kerb sometimes makes the car turn in the correct direction but it's the wrong type of corner for that and over the top anyway.

I do have a better handle on s1&2 than when starting, but 3 and 4 it's just academic. I know pretty well how much to brake for eg. the corkscrew, but execution is very hard.

I've seen the benefits of braking early, pointing the nose and really forcing it into Turns 3, 6, 9 and 10 full throttle. Getting it right at the edge where it wants to step out on you and the outside rear wheel slips just a touch. The only times you really need the brakes are 2, 5, 8 and 11. All other times the brakes are for turning, not slowing down.

You'll get used to fetchy and stuff. Took me a couple of weeks but now is automatic.
Online racing is still new to me. Might try to get into some other league soon. Recommendations? You seem to have a lot going on ...
See you in Madrid Ned!

My two recommendations are the FGTA WGTC, and CORE WEC(links in my sig).

While waiting for WRS entries to reopen, would it be alright if I just pretended I was registered:P? This combo is quite fun:).

Had a another go today. Not as much progress as I made yesterday. But still enjoying my choice to pick a manual gearbox. Here's me slight improvements.
I might have an other go tonight.

27.970
54.153
1'16.370

Cheers,

Epic frustration in this session. I had 14.8s galore and a single 14.7 (and 53.20x!), all binned, mostly in the corkscrew but one on the final corner, I just drove clean off track in a fit of stupidity.

This lap had an epic T4 but a crap T2, overall I nudged half a tenth more out of it :-)

Oops.. I've seem to have dropped something..

Soon as I get a 1'14.9 split and a good T3 I'm calling it a day! It certainly won't be me going for the win, I'll leave that to you, Dennis or someone else :D

Hmmm :sly:

I would like to recite a favorite childhood song of mine, sing along if you know the words. Goes a little something like this...

One of these things is not like the other...

MAZDA MIATA SECA!!!!

Goodnight.
