GTP_WRS Week 3 : Tarmac Rally Time!

I was perplexed as why there was such a big gap between first and 2nd place so I went out and did some investigating.
After an hour of investigating, careful analysis and completely in control and not totally sideways 'science', I have decided that the gap at the top can only be as a result of the fact that @Mr P is in fact a wizard. I haven't got a clue how you've managed to do the splits you are doing, and I simply cannot fathom how there is ANOTHER 6 tenths on top of the 6 I have yet to even see.

The start to T1 is pretty similar to the T2 to T3 video guys!.. just thread the needle up all the rumbles towards T1 for a better split

Here's the section from T2-T3 from my best lap.. with all lap info excluded of course the sector time is 27.3 hopefully it helps 👍

Ron - We appreciate the gesture and you doing something to help out your fellow participants. In general, we've allowed first sector videos on here, so as to provide some detail on what drivers could be doing better, without revealing too much.

This one has been up for over 90 minutes, has over 20 views, and at least a couple of comments from other racers in here. AND, you have made it in cockpit view without showing your throttle and brake inputs, gear selections, etc. on the screen.

For those reasons, we're going to keep the replay up this week.

Would appreciate if you could revert to posting only T1 in the future. I know why you did what you did, you were only trying to help out the other participants. So that's much appreciated. 👍

Ok that's fair enough Kev, I just thought at the time showing a censored vid of that sector was a lot easier than explaining it in a post.. the lazy mans explanation haha Unfortunately the WRS main rules never even crossed my mind... oops!

I’ve spent all morning chasing my fastest time wondering why I was at least half a second slower every time.
Until I just remembered I could load the ghost of my fastest time only to realise it wasn’t as fast as I thought & I had beaten it by a few hundredths several times but not saved it because I thought it was slower

Oh well! Back to the track I go

Quick 16 laps this morning. Good news I found the 2 seconds from yesterday, bad news my new optimal time is now 2.5 seconds faster than my now current fastest lap. Just can't put them all in the same lap. I still have way more for improvement, my fastest time does not include a single fastest sector time.​

You didn't miss much, just Captain Scarlets arch enemy making a mockery of my poor attempts at doing the drivey thing. No fruit related slips, shimmys or wobbles. Not even a grape! And to think I liked him...

Amazingly I’ve just hit the lap time I was chasing earlier even though T2 & T3 are slower than previously submitted!

My last set of laps I have time to do before monday evening. Decided to give the brake balance a turn to the opposite direction and re-evaluated my lines. Similar first sector than my previous attempts, but shaved off time towards the end. The last chicane is still killing my laps, though...

Ok these are probably my final splits for this event as I cant see myself going much faster.. I put lots of laps in and eventually got to .1 off my theoretical best possible time so I'm more than happy with my lap
