How much do you want for that sector one?

I know Mike had many .8 as the 1st sector is smooth, but my feet are that swollen I can't feel the pedals to good. Once I get to the twisty bit I brake to much or to much or to little gas

PS

Right had enough now, splits were up and down this afternoon but the line time kept coming down so I'll submit at this good luck to all. Don't for get to wash the dirt of the car before returning it to the garage. :mischievous:

Hi guys, some Awesome splits being posted

I've not had a chance to go back to this due to work etc.. but tonight I wanted to at least submit my best lap from the other day even though its off the front runners pace now :irked:

Anyway I checked my lap just now to submit and found an anomaly on the start straight possibly an invisible wall :( here's a couple of vids I made to show the perspective in 2 different views.. behind car it looks smooth as silk yet in car looks wrong, I never felt any contact whilst racing but make your mind up yourself..

I see nothing near contact in the above view or any sudden change.. in car view is making it look like a wall touch or invisible wall...

Is anyone aware of an invisible wall at this part? I probably wont submit now unless someone checks my lap before the results and gives it the all clear

Anyway... GL to all in the results and I'll be back in a week or 2 with my eyes open next time
Cheers

Struggling to find momentum on T2. Unsure on which gear i should be the most and when. Also, what the 🤬 is that jump after T1(before the fence). I feel like i lose a lot of tenths with my approach every single time.

from the timing point of T1 am in 3rd and dab the brake at right side of the track early to line the car up for the straightest line i can through the left in the dip, as close to the left wall as possible and drive it out wide, I find if you get it drifting sideways it always runs wide into the fence, 3rd all the way over the top and down towards the jump trying to get over to the left, I brake hard take 2nd and turn early across the up ramp to the jump as if I'm trying to jump into the yard of that house there on the corner and get as close as I can to the fence on the right to give the best line to the left-right-left.

I'm a bit rubbish at describing it but I hope it helps

Wow that's brutal, I must say I wouldn't have even had a second thought about it being clean when looking at it from the outside cam. I've certainly hit that wall many times but I always thought it was obvious. Just took the car out and reversed into it, sadly the entire section is one big invisible wall and the car stops more than a tire width before the barrier model.

Does it trigger a foul lap with the detection on strict? I've been relying 100% on that so I hope so

Nope, just tried it and you can smack it well beyond a shadow of a doubt without a penalty even on strict :(

I was just testing it as well and the moment i touched the invisible bit my time went red and invalidated.

Didn't we have something similar in the other direction in the Focus? To be honest with strict and invalidate time I've always found I cant fart near a barrier without invalidating my lap!

drove along there slowly and this is the moment my time got invalidated

I've found three places along there I've touched, both ends of the pit wall and also on the start line at the scaffold. each time it doesn't look as though you touch but the lap went red each time. You'll see on my lap when posted I made sure I stayed mid track as I was getting right ticked off with invalid laps.

Good luck Ron I hope your lap is Green flagged when viewed. 👍

You're indeed correct, I was using time penalty vs invalidate time. Have not been able to able to slip a wall touch through with invalidate time set.

Definitely not rubbish, helped me a great deal in the 2nd sector. Thanks

Not a particularly good T1 or last sector, I'm .300 off my theoretical best, not sure how much if any I can gain tomorrow.

....and I'd suggest this is a good option, especially looking at your T1 time :D

It is Mike mid track stay straight and look for a mid point at the end of the track between the pit wall exit on the one side and the track edge on the left.

Now it's just down to timing, off gas and just check your speed the smallest amount, let it go and smoothly turn to hit the apex of turn one, now hit the gas it will pull just wide of the apex on full gas.

Change gear to 3Rd just as you get to the right turn 2 the lower revs will now allow you to hold a good straight line through to T1.

There you go, I expect to see you get a 17 now lol.
