Wow Dan, very impressive.;) Waaaaaaaaaay faster than I will be going.

Had a proper sit down with this enjoyable easy combo, and achieved these results

31.781
54.581

;) Used simulation feedback, strength 7 DFGT

Quick pointer in case not already mentioned, avoid touching the grass on exit for corner before T1.

That is impressive indeed, and proof that FF 7 is fine. You'd have the WR time for sure with that run.

Great splits coming in at the moment, well done guys.
I have new splits, slower to T2 but a big chunk off at the line.
I've seen a .7xx T2 but still been slower to the line, so I'm submitting.

T1: 32.073
T2: 54.991

New Splits:

T1: 31.944
T2: 54.714

Using handbrake through the corners has significantly improved my pace.

That's just mental. Using handbrake, I mean, the only place that really works IRL is gymkhanas. Oh well, still just a game........

Yep, horribly unrealistic tapping the handbrake to throw the back out setting me up for the corner but still it's faster....

I tried it with one car a few months ago, its just a ridiculous idea. And I don't think it would make you faster because you sacrifice rhythm and consistency.

The handbrake is interesting subject, as it can give a little advantage in some ways.. but to get it consistently working you really need it mapped into wheel. I did use it in the academy "qualifier", and I think i managed to go the second turn (first left on eiger) faster that way. The physics have changed since and don't know if it still works... maybe. It also depends much of the car...

New splits, still can get more off, I Think I could just keep getting faster and faster, ill just run out of days to do it.

T1-32.034
T2- 55.085

I try to play GT5p the same way i would drive a car in real life (Doesn't always work out lol),I noticed that people have been using the handbrake a little while now and it didnt interest me. I find it sort of cheating in a way (only my opinion:)) and a very un-natural way of driving a car fast. The use of hand-brake in GTP competitions should be banned, as it creates an unfair and un-realistic advantage.

PS Those splits you got there Dan  All done with no handbrake. :)

sjaak, Vaxen or anyone that has the authority to rule on this, can we get a ruling on the handbrake please.

I agree, even though I haven't tried it I'd have to imagine it's rather pointless on MR cars........

 to all of that.:dopey:

I think the ruling should stand as it is. I dont see any cheating in it at all. Pulling a parking brake will lock your rear wheels up and turn the cars rear end the direction your momentum is going. Its not cheating at all, its like the "invisible wall" at HSR. I tested this out and I dont see that as cheating either.

I wonder if Ken Block uses his E-Brake.

Its not cheating at all, its like the "invisible wall" at HSR. .

Hitting the wall "IS" classed as cheating though.
I think you are not implying, what you have written?????
Using the hand-E brake is a skill used by many drivers.
All I want to know is it allowed or not as part of the WRS. The rules mention nothing of it, so I can only assume that using it is ok.

I'm confused about the inviso wall bussiness, what are you saying about that? Unfortunatly they exist in gt games and hitting them is a definit no no. Can't see how that relates to e-brake?

No special ruling about using the handbrake.

It is up to the participants to decide of using it.

Eiger seems more a rally track then a circuit to me, would be pretty silly to use an e-brake at sarthe I'd think.

Managed to shave 2 tenths off my time last night, Ill post the sectors tonight when I have checked the lap. I completely messed up the first corner though so I reckon I can get another few tenths through T1 and the long right hander before the tunnel is still making my sphinkter shring to a singularity, I either end up with bags of understeer of the tail starts to kick out and I lose hours going up the hill!

I should be able to get another run in tonight.

Wow, handbrakes in circuit racing, that's the day, lol
Anywho, just got my first run in:yuck:
I'll have to see if I get anymore time in at all this week, don't know if I will or not
T1:32.899
T2:55.899
not sure of the exact splits, only got 7 laps in for now:grumpy:

I can't really understand what you are saying, but the invisible wall at HSR, IF I am talking about the same one everyone else is, is the last turn outer wall, its not Invisible, the rumble strip is raised and acts as a way to keep the car from hitting the real wall.

paulie
Gymkhana is VERY different to circuit racing.

And Ken Block now does Rally And Gymkhana, but they are both types of motor sport. I'm just glad we have a ruling, I think it would be ridiculous if you weren't allowed to use a part of the car to drive.

Eiger's more akin to a tarmac rally stage than a circuit... and the WRC guys use the handbrake on tarmac all the time.

Submitting this. I am very very happy, I could get more time but I have work and I am still way ahead of my division anyway.

T1- 32.041
T2- 54.945
