Here's my replay. Closest spot is before the tunnel but there should be plenty of room.

Very nice lap Zocker 👍 I never considered 2nd gear for the lefty after the tunnel... always used 3rd, and also I used 1st gear for the last tight turn at the top of the uphill twisties and you used 2nd :dopey: I still have lots to learn haha

Great run mate

First time trying to upload a video. Hope this works. My apologies to the group for not putting much effort in this week...it shows.

Update for your sig Al...

"Just call me hairpin Al..." :sly:

Al, I have to apologize for my SRF comment back on page 1. Totally unwarranted. Dale already green-flagged you, but I was curious so I checked as well, to help me find that .450 that you found in T3. Seems like you hit the uphill right-hander after T2 perfectly, as well as the 2nd-to-last hairpin. A little wheelspin out of the last hairpin, but it didn't seem to slow you.

Nice lap! Wish we both weren't missing tonight's online race. :grumpy:

Had a couple of very busy days. Left home very early and came home late at night. Taking a shower, eating and to bed. That's how my last couple of days looked like :grumpy:

First of all congratz to the podiums. D1 guys, serious fast as usual.

Special  for Allibubba. T3 man. Think you deserve a promotion and i'm not talking about from D4B to D4S but to D2 :sly:

And Usual Suspect very nice D2 win. I thought i had a good T3 but i was wrong. Did enough low 42's in T3 maybe some very high 41. Was really looking for a 41 in T3 with a T1 & T2 i had but it didn't happen. I enjoyed the combo. Hope i find enough time for week 49, so far not much track time under the belt

Post my replay later tonight.

No worries. I was just as shocked as anybody! As I said before, after seeing the results I ran to my PS3 to double check my entry.

I hope I can continue to improve! Sad too that we will be missing tonight's WRS.

Thanks to Boter for your kind words!

Al

Wow, great lap times guys. Nice job on the D1 handicap again Joao 👍

In case anyone was wondering where I disappeared to after my ballistic T1, my 3rd sector was actually hopeless - way off the pace, so I thought it better to bow out.

Well done all survivors

Would that be handicap racing there, Chris? :sly:

I know how you feel Al. I had to pinch myself aswell when i saw the final results of week 46 with the Beemer. I hope that you can continue your performance. Good luck

Sorry I didn’t kept my promise to post my replay last night but I felt a sleep on the couch with a USB stick in my hand

Man you deserve a tonne of credit for checking this many replays!

Yeah Viper, way to make the rest of us look lazy :sly:. to you for the effort you put in.

:cheers::cheers::cheers::cheers: if you do the same on a Nurburgring or Sarthe week!

Now I want a beer and its still only 10am :grumpy:

Im easy, depends on who has more beer in the fridge :).

Wait, no, your place. You have a much better racing setup than me, and I want a turn :D

Nice, clean lap. Nothing to have to check closely here.

I learned something about T2 from watching your replay. I was sliding all over the place on the big left after the tunnel. Your method was a lot more controlled. Hardly any sliding, and it showed with your T2 almost a tenth quicker.

Where it looked like I gained some time on you was the first sharp left leading up the hill in T3. I found staying really tight there with my inside tires partially on the tarmac and partially on the dirt helped me "hook" that turn. Plus, just staying tight there without the "hook" is faster anyways.

I also think I might have gained a little time on you in the very last double left before the finish. You braked a little earlier, and less aggressively than I did there. I think you may have also scrubbed a bit too much speed there. I braked late and hard, drifted up a little bit, hammered the throttle, and kept my overall speed higher. I usually managed to hit 85/86 at the start/finish. I did hit 87 a few times, but it was the exception.

There was a .2 difference in our T1 time, but it is hard for me to see where it happened. I can't see your initial speed that well, because of where the replay started. But I am thinking I might have started my lap at a higher mph.

Almost forgot.. great start to your T3. It looks like you really nailed that first left/right.

Overall a great replay to watch. 👍

Nice, clean lap as well. Easy to check. Not so easy to determine where you are losing speed. You seem to be taking good lines. I will do my best to analyze.

T1:
As I said above, it is very hard to determine your lap starting speed.. so I will skip that part. I did notice something for the left leading into the tunnel. You could have set this up a bit better by getting further right before turning in. This would have a allowed a sharper turn-in and the abitlity to carry a bit more speed out of the turn. I noticed if I nailed this apex properly, a little further off the inside dirt than one would think, the suspension wouldn't do that weird "wallow" like you got on the exit. There must be a weird bump there.. because if you cut into that corner a little too much, it really pushed the car wide on exit.

T2:
I noticed you brake a bit earlier than most exiting the tunnel. I am not sure if you were using a weaker brake balance, or if you were just being more careful with the brakes. I actually jacked my brake balance up to 8/10 for this combo. I never hit the brakes before getting the front of the car out of the shadow, where as you seemed to get on it almost a car length before that.

At the end of T2 I also noticed you hit the brakes about a half to full car length before me as well.. But this set you up for a good left/right to start T3. I think in a TT situation, like this one, I come in a little more recklessly than I would in a race. Try playing with the brake balance some in the next combo, and try to push the braking point a little bit.

T3:
The first left up the hill you did a great job staying tight. You had such a good line here, you could have gone full throttle a little earlier and carried a few more mph up to the next hairpin right.

The hairpin, you did the same as me. Neither of us got to wide for the entry (as I found it just made it further to travel, but not any faster) and used the 2nd to 1st shift to get the car pointed for exit. I guess we can see from Zocker's replay that staying in second was faster, and kept the speed up. A great job by him getting the car to dance around that corner so nicely in 2nd gear.

The left hairpin up the hill.. I think you could have maybe waited a split second longer in getting on the throttle, and then gone full throttle earlier. Really reaching here though.

The final double left.. Another case of just braking a bit too soon and a bit too soft.

Overall a very good lap with excellent lines. It was hard to spot where the time was lost. After analyzing, I believe you will gain a little time in the future by being a little more aggressive with your braking. Try to keep pushing your braking point just a bit further.

Thanks guys for the great laps to watch. You both kept the cars under excellent control.👍

Rees

Edit - ps.. if anyone can watch my NTSC replay on page 1, I would appreciate it. Thanks!

Can't help with the NTSC replay Rees, but 👍 for finding the time to provide lengthy feedback to Baron and Dale.

Thanks mate.. Think I forget how much I start rambling sometimes

Hopefully some of what I wrote makes some sense.:)

If no one has watched your replay until tonight i will watch it early in the morning no problem. :)

Thanks Mike. Much appreciated. No huge rush, I just didn't want it to get lost, since it was back on page one.

Thanks for the critique, and replay check, Yes, I am a bit too conservative, and yes, I have cars gain on me after a turn, and when I brake into a turn during online races. I will adjust braking force up and go in deeper on turns. Thanks again!

Dale

It depends on the car and the track for braking force in online racing. Especially if tire wear is on. Certain track/car combos I actually have my brake balance fairly low. In a league where I use the Takata NSX, I actually have the brake balance at 3/3 for qualifying and 3/2 for racing.

But, when time trialing, I usually try and dial it up pretty high.

Also, some of the gaining into the corners and out of the corners in online racing has to do with the draft.

But like I said, your lines were excellent. You seem like you could be on the verge of a big break through. Great lap. 👍
