GTP_WRS Week 50 : Dodge Viper GTS '02 @ Eiger Nordwand reverse

I thought I'd give this WRS a go for a change, as it didn't require tuning and I never drive on eiger.

This is the first time I have ever driven this car in this game on this track. I must say its front end is garbage. Although it is a dodge, so that speaks a lot for the quality of the car. This cars front end just slides threw the corner so well. If you don't diamond the corners, then getting around fast is nearly impossible. I found my biggest problem is the front end just unloading under braking, so if you line isn't exactly right, then you blow the corner. I don't feel the dead zone on my wheel, which is the G25. You would have to ask Dan, Spy, Ausicko is their wheel has dead zone, but for me I don't feel that as much.

I drove the GTS Viper around the autocross at Skip Barber a few years ago when I first got my liscense...and yeah, the car was a pos when you got down to it. The ergonomics are terrible (very crude) in real life and not to mention the handling is very numb and unforgiving...but it was quite fun trying to tame that beast :sly: I believe the latest Gen Vipers are much better though...but probably still far behind, say a Porsche, GT-R, or Ferrari in terms of feel and driving quality.

As far as the deadzone in the game - I don't find it to be so bad when you're right at the limit...but sometimes I'll take the entry to the lap a bit slow and far off the limit (prior to crossing the line) and the car seriously has like 40 degrees of lag, numbness, and deadzone in the steering. The steering just doesn't feel direct and responsive...but that is still one of the major issues with GT5P at slower speeds...which will probably be dramatically improved for GT5 :)

I've struggled all week with this one - to me, this WRS is what separates the Gold drivers from the Bronze. I found it very difficult all week to find something that would work. I was lucky enough to put in a lap with very average T1 and T2's and then a very solid final lap time so I'm going to have go with it. Here are my splits:

T1 10.772
T2 30.254

It will be interesting to see how my final sector holds up.

Even if my lap is clean, saved on my PS3 and I have no problem on my console and not on my DFGT, I will maybe not be able to submit my lap because my mother took my PS3 away. Yeah I will have to feel like I finished the competition but I won't have it done officialy. If I can't submit a time I think I won't forgive her for a long long time.

I'm sure she tried to "help" you ;)

Just submitted with splits on the board. Tried to improve today, but could not match the final sector I ran last night.
 
Final board update for the week - calling off for a few days to the south with some of my best friends. Hai will take care of the board for week 51.
 
Submitted with splits slightly slower than those posted, but a much, much improved lap time.

Just had my last go on this one...

Did 4 laps with T1's of 10'380 and one with 10'375...all these laps had T2's of 29'62x...and i ruined all these laps in the final corner!!!!!!!!...i had enough now,guess this final corner in just not my friend...lol!!..

Bit disapointed with my submitted time, much slower T2 by quarter of a second, but beat my overall by a tenth. So I should have been at least 3/10th faster........ oh well good luck everyone.

BTW I have never restarted a lap so many times in a WRS.:lol:
