I believe I'm going to gracefully bow out on this one. Just can't get a rhythm going in this pig. BTW, if you're finding Pasm's tune a bit to tail happy on-throttle in the mid corner game, set the lsd to 5/15/5. Pretty stable there. Good luck all.

Good tip. I made that tune as loose as I was comfortable with, to let the car rotate with the throttle.
 
Having a big go this week as it's my favourite track. Finally cleaned up my lap and running consistently with only light wall touches. This is my best clean Lapp.

I have seen .5 under on Conrod however nerves got me and I threw it away at the chase. This lap has lots of room to improve across the top but still quite happy for now. Will be back on again Saturday and Sunday night but now race car prep calls. 4 weeks to go.
 
Here's a sector 1 video. I have found that hitting the inside kerbstone slows you down, ideally you should get as close to it without hitting it. As you can see I left a bit of unused space there at the apex.

I am going to tweak my setup a little tonight, I started with PASM's tune and it is a little too tail happy for me. The video helps a little, because I am pretty unfamiliar with this track and I just don't really know where I am missing all the time. I think one of my biggest problems in t2 is turn 4, the hard left uphill before the high speed left turns. The initial up hill too I cant find the sweet spot. My splits are pretty wretched but hopefully I can find my weak spots.

I had difficulty producing anything, ongoing from my previous session. I then turned off the race display. I didn't check but of the 9 laps, probably two were clean (but both were actually faster). Unacceptable T1 but that was sort of the point. In total I seem to have done 5 laps that are even remotely similar a time. 1 lap per 100 km.

It seems I climbed about the same as my previous lap, but after T2 kept gaining more and more.

I know what your feeling with turn 1. I can't find any consistency there. Lap to lap I'll be any where from 18.6 to 18.9. I'm just plain ol over driving it. I've seen one .535 but couldn't hold on to the lap.

There's a last corner? I've only seen 'restart' for 400 miles. Seen son-of-a-bitch mountain a few times and 'you're a bastard' hair pin a couple of times. Made it to 'you have got to be kidding me' only once though.

The slow corners on top of the mountain are my hellhole right now. Not that I love the first turn but getting regular 18.6s. Have another two tenths probably, but we are talking perfect lap territory.
I really need a negative handicap this week :ouch:
 
Second set of laps. Really struggling to find a good rhythm and feel for the car; it doesn't help I've never driven this thing before.

I found some time finally last night, but am still way off the pace on the mountain. I kind of know where it is going, but another part of me just has no idea how I can be THAT much slower.

I am going to adjust a little to something in between yours @monkeywall and @PASM's tune. His definitely allows for a lot of speed through the top portion, with less tire squeal but its a little too tail happy for me in other portions, especially the tight left up the hill. I will post my times tonight, and if I could hit that 1:33 range I would be pretty happy.

Oh think I must have been dreaming when I said I took A Sec of t2's time in my original post. Couldn't get close today with my original tune.
 
After slightly changed some settings (LSD, downforce, damp ext.) another slight improvement of around 96 hundredths of a second. :dopey: But most of it was because of changing from auto to manual transmission. :banghead:

Still not happy yet as i found out that at least on the straight after turn one is fater to shift just before speed limiter - around 8000 rpm. Yet still worried of cleanliness of this lap, was damn close to the barrier, but hope i can go faster. :)

Ok, I think I'm done, my heart is still pounding. This is about as fast as I can ever get, although I lost half a tenth in T2 and another half of a tenth in the last corner. I'm gonna submit with these. :eek:
