"Yer.. She's just ya basic green"
"Green is nice"

It was funny, I had a red one in my garage (of course, the PAL replay I downloaded contains ALL red cars - strange fella me thinks) but it wasn't the RIGHT color red so I went into the Dealer and picked up the Green one - not even close to the prettiest green in the world but man is she Christmassy!

Yeah, that was sort of the point. :sly:

I had all these ideas about the cars for this week, but the primary criteria was "available in Christmassy Red and Green". So it made the decision rather easy. :dopey:

I may not get a chance to run this one until my return from out of town Sunday. But I don't expect it to be a lot of work to get a decent lap, which was the other point. ;)

My first splits for this combo:

T1: 28.777
T2: 46.873

Fantastic splits Andy almost into D2 times, hope you've not fallen into the same trap as Chris with S2's on the rear.

Great times 👍

It is a quote from an Australian film 1982, pretty well known here.
Do you know which one?:D

Thanks -edit- Phil!

Nope, using the right tires for sure. I think I'm able to be a little faster but as usual, getting it all together is the main problem. After two very busy weeks I finally have some time to play so hopefully I can improve my time :)

I don't have enough time to turn a faster lap.. Killer Splits Animera

Submitted!

Indeed, those are some impressive splits Animera - here are my latest:

T1 28.373
T2 46.232

Thanks!

30 Laps so far. This is all I could muster tonight:

T1: 29.240
T2: 47.155

I really need to work on turns 3,4, and 5.

Some first ones for me, before leaving for Christmas. See you all on Sunday. ;)

28.695
46.719

Kevin

Hi, I'm the new kid on the block.
This is my very first Time Trial (except the registration-qualifier).
T1: 0'29.738
T2: 0'48.362

I've to practice very very much. Hope I'll make it to the top! :sly:

Moving house, no internet for a week. :(
Submitted with splits from first attempt.

Question:
Does it make a very big difference to use MT instead of AT?
It's so full of corners, that I'm busy enough with steering.
And IF MT has a lot of advantages: The last corner, you'll use 1st or 2nd gear?

Manuals always have huge advantages, although it could be difficult to use with a controller, but some people seem to manage. I use 2nd gear at the last turn.

My first splits:
T1- 28.400
T2- 46.096

I think there could be more time in the first sector, but sheesh, I really suck at London.:sly: Looks like I may have one of if not the fastest second sector, if only by a couple hundredths, if only I knew better techniques for the first sector...

Hi, and welcome to the registry and WRS.

The advantage to manual on this combo is being able to hold it in 3rd a few places, which will allow you to carry more momentum and focus on hitting your marks.

Some drivers might be using a different approach, but for me, shifting down and back up scrubs more speed and the shifts cost me more than I can gain with the lower gear acceleration in the turn 1/2 Complex, as well as turn 6 (Round Left Hander just after T1).

Beyond that, I'm using second for turns 3/4 and turn 10. The rest of the turns are flat out and self explanatory.

This car also seems to respond well to holding to the rev limiter before shifting. With manual, I can hold it right up to 66 MPH. In other cars, at times, short shifting works well (Shifting well before redline). That's impossible with automatic.

Plenty of good controller drivers from the GT4 WRS days and Prologue now have learned to use the manual transmission. It was one of the biggest steps I took toward improving my driving while running GT4 WRS. Would strongly recommend it. 👍

Track map from AMG. :)

Keep practicing until you can do it by ear without thinking :)

But the main advantage is you can shift a little later/ealierß with MT and you have control when you shift.

Sometimes with AT it up-shift/down-shifts at the wrong moment.

When entering a corner you want to take in second it downshifts to first, than halfway the corner it shifts up to second. But that shifting is costing a lot of time, with MT you have control and keep it in second :)

Welcome btw :)

/edit: posting at the same time Kevin :)

Hi exstense, I'm a pad user too and I find the MT takes loads of time off my laps, mainly due to being able to use engine braking. It is very difficult to be precise with the brake inputs on the controller and being able to engine brake really helps. I use R2 and L2 for accelerate and brake, x for shift up and square for downshift, this allows me to left foot brake and change gear all at the same time. Like everyone says and as with anything, practise makes perfect :)

Why, oh why... why aren't we allowed to tell our lap times.
I suppose it is to increase the fun. But I can't understand why that increase the fun?

By the way, ofcourse I'm gonna follow the forum rules and won't tell mine. But since my T1 and T2 time are available on Luxy, you can figure out what it will be

Some how i got slower splits but i got a faster lap time

New splits:

28.791
46.648

The last turn at London Reverse is quite critical - you can lose alot of time there if you don't nail it properly. Study what you did right on that lap and then go back and try to get faster T1's and T2's with a perfect final corner. Also, don't use this lap as a ghost to chase - worst thing in the world is chasing a ghost with a perfect final sector because no matter how far ahead of it you get, it always beats you to the line. Well, that's the not the worst thing in the world but you get my point.
