Something around your time will be my benchmark. I hope my "skills" support what my mouth said :nervous:.

Nevermind...not even near VettelP1...my T1 can't go under 31 seconds. I think I did a stupid mistake buying this PS3 and stuff :(.

Great times everyone, as always! 👍

It will come with practise my friend :)

I'm generally always last or there abouts in Division 2 but I can see my laptimes improving bit by bit as I feel my skills gradually increasing week after week.

I download replays and watch them using chase cam to see what lines the faster drivers are taking, which gear they are using and I also try to match their apex speeds (this isn't always possible though :scared:)

The WRS & EYS II are probably the best places for you to be if you are wanting to improve your overall GT skills, stick with it if you can :sly:

EDIT:The Enhance Your Skills II Course which is being ran right now which may also help you, I'm taking part & alot of others from the GTP Registry are as well. You may still be able to register if you check with Mad94d ;)

Keep going my friend, I started off in D4 bronze not too long ago and have worked my way up. The WRS is a fantastic way to improve your skills, and as the guys say, Mads EYS2 will help no end, there is absolutely no substitute for seat time and a bit of healthy competition adds to this. I'm sure you'll surpass me and many others in no time

Moving up! :D

Giggity giggity giggity, I'm happy with that, finally leading D2 ;)

Hi, and welcome to the registry and WRS.

The advantage to manual on this combo is being able to hold it in 3rd a few places, which will allow you to carry more momentum and focus on hitting your marks.

Some drivers might be using a different approach, but for me, shifting down and back up scrubs more speed and the shifts cost me more than I can gain with the lower gear acceleration in the turn 1/2 Complex, as well as turn 6 (Round Left Hander just after T1).

Beyond that, I'm using second for turns 3/4 and turn 10. The rest of the turns are flat out and self explanatory.

This car also seems to respond well to holding to the rev limiter before shifting. With manual, I can hold it right up to 66 MPH. In other cars, at times, short shifting works well (Shifting well before redline). That's impossible with automatic.

You use 3rd only at turn 1 and 2? I know I'm doing something wrong in T1, so everything is worth a shot.:sly: I was using 2nd gear there.
Where you shift depends entirely on the power curve, when it said peak power at 5,700rpm I had to go into an arcade race and check the power, and it pretty much holds that peak power until the 6,600rpm fuel cut-out. If you don't know what the power curve looks like it's very hard to tell when to shift. I remember in GT4, the Hemi Cuda I think had peak power some 2,000rpm or something before red-line, and VERY sharp power drop-off after that peak power, so if you couldn't drive manual it meant you were losing seconds per lap.

For now.:mischievous:

I've always found that the higher gear works better in that turn, in either direction. It's one of the toughest turns on the track, but if you can get the braking and apex just right, you're better off using 3rd gear, and waiting until the square left hander (Turn 3) to shift into 2nd.

You're right on about peak power, etc. But torque can also play a role, and sometimes just experimenting with different shift points and watching the differences in pre and post shift acceleration help you to understand what to do.

I seem to have found what was wrong in T1, so got these new splits:

T1- 28.252
T2- 45.974

About 2 hundredths slower in T2 , but I gained those 2 hundredths back in the final corner.;) Amazingly, this lap was done without barely even going near the walls, except for the last turn. Last lap I posted I had literally put the car within pinky finger reach of the walls, but everything has been clean so far.:D

Bring it on :sly:

Oh it is brought!:sly:

Hi everyone. Merry Christmas and season greetings. :)

Having received a G25 and a 32" HD TV for Christmas, I thought to myself what a better game to try it out than gt5 prologue. Sadly, I don't have anything to mount my G25 on at the moment (I should have thought ahead) so I'm sticking with my crappy controller. Loving the widescreen too - the previous TV I used wasn't a widescreen so now it seems I can see further round a corner which is always useful :dopey:

So I checked the combination for this week (which I like very much, thanks Kevin) and straight away I put s1's on the front instead of the back. :irked:

Fixing my mistake and despite not playing prologue for over 3 weeks I achieved:

28.276
46.303

My t2 is really slow because I've probably driven through turn 1 95% more than I have turn 5

What I've just found out:
You can squeeze, hit or even smash your steering wheel, your lap times won't be better. :-D
Frustrated that I can't get my T2 below 48 seconds. Eating my heart out!
Never mind, I'm never gonna be a M.Shum. (you know who).

2 days left...

I had a final run this morning and could not improve my laptime.
Submitted with my current splits.
Good luck guys.

Firsf (and probably last) splits for this combo:

T1: 28.911
T2: 46.966

Wow my first week is not looking good.
T1: 30.037
T2: 48.683

Don't worry too much about the actual times. I'm very glad to finally seeing some Div5-action once again 👍

Submitted with splits on the board. Had another go today but coudn't even get close to my previous time...

Found a bit of time for another quick session. New and improved splits:

T1: 28.590
T2: 46.724

Submitting this lap.
