Um, I take it a replay on the non-weather Spa will be void if attempting to submit?

(just a heads up for people if that's the case.)

I baulked, first of all, at the 1.7 million credits needed to acquire this ugly beast but then realised I had a zero miler in the garage already.

Let's see how it drives and see if it's worth it.

Yep , the replay needs to be from the Weather/Time change track. Make sure you reset the settings of the car already in your garage , especially the suspension.

Thanks Max, will do.

I kept red-lapping Eau Rouge and getting frustrated until realising I was running the wrong version...

Car feels great on the fast corners! 👍

On the pad, I'm finding the opposite.
I just reset the suspension and it's even worse than the old set-up.
Before, it (Eau Rouge) was hard to get right but I could carry the speed (T1 33.4ish).
Now I can't get it turned in or carry momentum and I'm in the low 34s. :banghead:

Last year in GTAcademy, they had Spa in the final round with the GTR and it was found that wheel users could take Eau Rouge flat and pad users could not (@Ed_Night probably could but :D), this might be the case here.

I'd be interested to hear if other paddies are experiencing the same?

Oh well, a new seasonal out on Thursday so I can live with the disappointment of skipping a week. :irked:

EDIT: ooopps, double post apologies

Yes same here. No way to take Eau Rouge flat out, not now anyway, but hard to see that happening. Low 34s here too. But the biggest issue right now is oversteer under acceleration. Can't seem to modulate throttle enough, specially in the slow corners (I'm using 2nd gear at too many turns probably, has happened to me before :ouch:). Tried TC at 5 and solves the issue without ruining the car, but after months of not using TC it feels weird. Might skip the week too, specially having to set targets for Paul's Italia Cup, on the Dino, at Monaco no less :scared:
Will have some more laps see if it gets any better.

In turn 1: I drop to second and shift up to third immediately when I put the power down, make the rumble strip on the exit of the corner your focus point and keep the car straight as possible, don't be afraid to fight the car and counter steer coming out of Turn 1 and, I don't drop to 2nd gear again until the final chicane. Try not to have a lot of turn on the wheel before smashing the throttle, car has a lot of torque and it will kill you, which also means the car can easily handle being in the third instead of second without losing acceleration

Do you use X to accelerate or R2?

I tend to use a repeated 'stabbing' action on X to try and modulate getting on the power without too much wheelspin.

Ditto what @LLOYDZELITE69 said about 'short-shifting' as on the odd occasion that I've used manual gears this has helped greatly.

Keep plugging away, I probably will.

Yes, X for throttle, O for brakes, and manual gears (R2-L2) always, except when driving the Red Bulls. Holding the button down midways usually helps (Not in this case) but I have also tried the thumb mashing action :D
Spa is one of my favorite tracks so I'll probably try to live with the limitations and go on.
Thanks for the tips guys 👍

Way worse T1 but better T2 and T3. watching the replay of my lap i still see enough time to be gained. Hopefully im able to string it together before the end of the week.

For now

33.801
1'35.284

Quite addicting combo

I'm 10 mph slower through Eau Rouge - can't get the car to stick there.

33.966
1'35.866

4/10ths quicker at the line.

maybe time to skip this event, as i dunno how to figure out this hell of a car. And i thought the BTR was a worst car in game. :boggled:

edit: damn, did drive on RH tires, now i see, ups, giving it another try.

That's what I was thinking when I was struggling to hit a T2 time of 1'40. I'm still slow as molasses, but less-embarrassingly so now that I put the RM tires on.

For a front-heavy, this one's probably okay (still in two figures distance).

Blistering splits McSqueegy 👍 not sure of the names of sections on this track but before bed this morning I had a 33.0xx and was killing my ghost by a lot up to the turn just before T2 and went off track just at the T2 line 👎 lets just say I need to go back to the drawing board on my next visit and try holding my arse whilst going round that section :P

Great combo overall for a stock car it's very addictive ;)
Cheers

initial splits, still a lots of mistakes around the circuit:

33.200
1'35,217

had to scrap a ,189 T1, but mid section needs a general improvement

Just spent the past hour driving round the standard spa not the weather variable one :dunce:

some practice any way

Having Flashbacks of this track ...lol , still damn good fun :)

My Bad Guy's , i did not realize i had to set my car settings to default as I've never used this car before and ya so all 3 sheets where a previous stock setup i presume from the a earlier game version ??

so anyway reset my settings for my entire setup and can see the camber values are much higher which make's the car very understeery .

So I've had a go and have a more realistic split time now ... My bad ... apologies . still gonna keep pushing to see if i can get that time not too far off , although loosing allot of time is sector 2.

Again my apologies ....:embarrassed: Awkward ...lol

I was just about to boot up for a few laps then... those splits have made me lose interest

Insane Ghostdriver 👍

Almost made it into the 1sec Club, insane times so far guys. 👍

Using stock BB 5/5, mostly shifting at redline or earlier. Noticed from @mcsqueegy vid that he doesn't bother to go to 6th prior to Eau Rouge, and this was the first clean lap after I changed to doing that, but also had similar T1's using 6th with a downshift to 5th.
