damn..all this car does is slide around at the slightest of everything.

side note... I actually owned a purple one

Very tricky (and frustrating) combo. My first splits for this combo are:

T1: 09.960

T2: 28.311

Giving this one a shot...

T1: 10.154
T2: 28.687

T1 10.792 10.403 10.320
T2 30.589 29.611 29.370

Something really 'wrong' here... I just did 13 laps with a DS and out of those 13 laps only 2 were disqualified and I also took 4.5 seconds out my total time, last night when I was playing with DFGT 99% of my laps were disqualified... think I'm running this week with the DS, it have me feeling a bit more competitive

edit
wow... 1.5 seconds more off.... wasn't liking this at first..but damn..starting to get the hang off it..pity it's with a DS though.

The turn after the tunnel is really tricky using a DS controller

Nice splits 👍

Just one thing, please use the edit button if no one has posted after you. Dont want you getting in trouble for double posting ;)

Took a full session and a lot of svearing over my times, before I realised that the Elise 111R also come in a tuned version. :dunce:

After second session:

10.360
29.491

I actually wanted to do that in the first place but I thought it might confuse the leaderboard my apologies :)

 I tried to make it clear in the first post, but let me know if there is more I can do to make it easier to understand. 👍

Just make strikes through the old ones and you'll be fine. ;)

(Like this).

I only blame myself, Kevin.

I actually did read the thread, and I also did notice the 'tuned' after the name, when I wrote down the race specifics to my "time paper". But since the Lotus section in my garage only held 3 cars and only one Elise 111R - who was I to start nitpicking over a little diversity in the name. ;)

First splits, very very frustrating combo. I think I've already reached my limit at T2 but T3 was just horrible. On a one hour session I've only done about 5 - 10 laps without crashing before or at T2 (the turn from whre you go up) :(

T1: 10.329
T2: 29.131

D'oh, me too :yuck:

Will try again tomorrow, with the tuned elise...

T1 10.372
T2 29.346

Slightly slower in T1, Massive gain in T3 though...

I hope it's OK that I'm posting splits even though my Q time has not been approved yet. I submitted last Tuesday so hopefully I'll be qualified soon.👍

10.360
29.116

I'm actually quite happy with these when compared to my first session yesterday.:)

Yep, absolutely OK to be posting splits. And as you said, I'm sure you'll be processed soon. 👍

EDIT:

My First Splits as well -

28.791

got to get that corner out of the tunnel correct to shave some time off my T2.

can anyone explain to me why I can't get around the first half of this circuit with a wheel, sometimes not even the corners before the tunnel... any tips would be welcomed.... I'm able to catch and correct it fairly quick with the DS but the wheel is hopeless right now.

Please make sure to use capitals at the start of your sentences.

On to your question - Those corners are definitely tricky, with a wheel or without.

I'm guessing you're struggling with the fact that a controller has a natural centering point, whereas the wheel does not. Make sure you focus on getting the wheels as straight as possible when braking for the 2 corners that require braking (Left Before Tunnel and Left Sweeper at Bottom of Hill).

Myself, I found for the tricky left before the tunnel, set up as far right as possible and make it a smooth, sweeping motion, rather than trying to yank the car.

Through the tunnel, make sure you don't miss the shift up from 4th to 5th. If you bump the limiter and lose traction, or make the shift while the car is unstable, it will come around on you.

Again, set up for straight line braking into the bottom of the track left sweeper. I was actually able to run a little deep in that corner and pick up some time by inducing oversteer on exit (with the throttle of course :P ).

Hope that helps. I'm not the fastest through there, but I'm not the slowest, either. :dopey:

I like this one EDK:D
Just gotta string it together. I've seen a few 10.06-7 for T1.
But this is the fastest full lap so far.

10.413
28.879

11.258
31.296

Hard to belief that within 10 seconds you can get 1.5 second behind.
Pfft, got to learn much.

I know that there will be a test in GT5. But will there be also a tutorial kind of thing in it? Like GTR2 has?

The license tests start simple with 400 meter straight, 1000meter straight etc. Then 1 corner, one faster corner, 2 corners etc. Then the final license (super license) contains a series of whole tracks. For each test you can see a demo where you can learn how you can get a gold time as well as a description explaining the test and how to drive is :) So it is sort of a tutorial building on the experience from the previous tests.

/me is going to grab the Elise (tuned this time) for a spin :)

You dont have to lift off at all through the first turn. As Kevin wrote try to setup for the second turn to the far right. Brake early and avoid the gravel on the inside of the turn. Get on about half throttle quite early and when your front wheels are pointing straight down into the tunnel you can put the pedal all the way down.
