SO much time being lost at turn 3. It catches me out every time! 1.5 seconds though!!?! I dont know how you guys do it

I think i've wrecked my dear elise at least 20 times and I must have killed myself at least 10 times :dopey:.

I drove consistent 10.5 T1's. Until I drove the following splits, I was so enthusiastic to watch my replay that I quit and forgot to save the damn replay... :ouch:

Won't be having time to run this combo sadly, but I will be running 66 without a doubt. I am happing that I will be having more time to run the combo's :).

Please make sure to use capitals at the start of your sentences.

On to your question - Those corners are definitely tricky, with a wheel or without.

I'm guessing you're struggling with the fact that a controller has a natural centering point, whereas the wheel does not. Make sure you focus on getting the wheels as straight as possible when braking for the 2 corners that require braking (Left Before Tunnel and Left Sweeper at Bottom of Hill).

Myself, I found for the tricky left before the tunnel, set up as far right as possible and make it a smooth, sweeping motion, rather than trying to yank the car.

Through the tunnel, make sure you don't miss the shift up from 4th to 5th. If you bump the limiter and lose traction, or make the shift while the car is unstable, it will come around on you.

Again, set up for straight line braking into the bottom of the track left sweeper. I was actually able to run a little deep in that corner and pick up some time by inducing oversteer on exit (with the throttle of course :P ).

Hope that helps. I'm not the fastest through there, but I'm not the slowest, either. :dopey:

Thanks, going to try this and also what Phillip suggested.

Sorry about the caps..I usually do though..

Wow you and I have identical splits and we both are using the DS
Great battle this 👍

See you've improved... going to use the tips I got see if I can pass you... we'll see if we can push each other into DIV 3

Hello everyone :)

Great to see ya running again Niels 👍 I'll do my best to rejoin the party also, I've said that several times already  It's just not always easy to find motivation, especially when I'm so slow :dopey: Anyway........

Nice combo Kev, I like it more then the reg tunned elise ;)

@EDK & Phillip

After about 45mins following your advice I'm now within less than 1 sec of my time with the DS. Previously I was like 5 secs off... THANK YOU, going to keep at it now...

I'm loving this combo. In the SL55 I couldn't stomach more than five laps at a time. I feel like I can get to grips with this one though, its so much fun!

10.348
29.306

after a handful of laps I came up with

10.159
28.867

10.235
28.814

10.245
28.765

:yuck: I know I can do better

What helps me is listening to the tire squeal as well.

The maximum traction you can have is 100%, but If you turn, brake or accelerate it all uses an amount of the traction. I try to keep the traction to the maximum, but this is a trade-off between the three.

So if you turn your stearing wheel all the way, you use all traction for stearing, but you can't brake any more. If you brake fully, you can't turn anymore. If you turn and go full on the throttle you try use too much traction and spin off.

If you listen to the tire squeal you can hear when your're about too loose traction. At that point lessen any of the three factors (e.g. stear less, brake less, accelerate less) and you regain traction. But if you brake 50% and stear 50% instead of turn 100% and braking 100% at the same time you'll have a lot more grip.

If you take a loot at DHollands' reply with the viper for example you'll notice how smooth he is. Smooth = Fast.

Also, when there's a large straight after the corner try to focus on the exit speed more than the entry speed. You'll gain much more from the exit speed on the straight than trying to ram it through the corner. So try to get on the gas as fast as possible (without loosing control ofcourse) instead of braking as late as possible.

Battling the TCS I managed these splits:

T1 10.125
T2 28.909

I'm getting to know the walls of this place pretty well:ouch:

T1: 10.109
T2: 28.530

I do enjoy watching the replays though:)

Yeah hopefully Division 3 promotion is my target before GT5 is released hope this event goes on during GT5 also getting a G25 in the next couple of weeks so hopefully the transition from Controller to Wheel goes well good luck :)👍

Keep working at it, it will happen for you. 👍

The WRS has been around since GT3 and for nearly 7 years. It will be here for GT5, no question.

Awesome news Kevin racing against you guys maked GT games a million times better

Battling the TCS I managed these splits:

TCS?! Do you sit on the low seat in the sauna as well... :sly:

No, actually I'm allways on top seats and I'm usually the last person to leave the sauna. :mischievous:
My friends have given me the nickname "Sauna Major" for that reason
and because I once warmed the sauna up to 110 degrees (celsius)

But to come back to question about using TCS,

I'd like to suggest , that you Anghammarad drive this car on this track using a Sixaxis/DS3.
This could allow you to see things from my perspective. And everyone else's driving with Sixaxis/DS3.

I do not need to test that to know that even with all driving aids on full I would not make it through the very first corner. I have nothing but the utmost respect for the people who can drive any car, not just this, in GT5 with a dual shock and if my joke offended you I apologise unreservedly.

T1 0'10.610
t2 0'29.757

Another Floridian in the mix - HURRAY!!!! Nice job mate. 👍 My splits are still so bad that I haven't posted them yet. I was actually a few clicks away from selling every Lotus in my garage last night.

I'll second that madmax, if your getting into the 28s on the pad fantastic 👍

Finally found some time for a first, very short stint (about 5 flying laps).

T1: 10.431
T2: 29.458

Hmmm... it seems I got some catching-up to do :sly:

Just had my final run of the day, and made another improvement after it finally clicked that the key to keeping this wee beastie stable is to never come completely off the throttle,

T1 10.123
T2 28.786

Finally some splits I'm not mortally embarrassed by! This must be the toughest combo I've done, Makes that Viper feel like a go-kart!!

T1 - 10.383
T2 - 29.127
