I'm finding it quite tricky to set a sub 16 for T1 :ouch: My best so far is a 16.030. Just when I think I've broken the barrier it seems I only set a mid 16.0xx :scared: I've not improved on my times so hopefully tomorrow will be the day :P

After a few weeks absence, here's my first splits for this combo

16.442
34.111

I'm sure there's more to come as I'm still getting a feel for the car

EDK....Square button sets up timer display... 👍

X switches views....

Thanks

Just hit X once, then your able to use select as the camera options.👍

New splits from a far faster lap and I know there is much more. :D

Welp, that settles it. I haven't a clue how to take turn 1. I just put in another two hours or so on this and no matter how hard I try I just can't improve on my T1 time. I've tried to attack that 1st turn every way I can imagine and it doesn't seem to matter. Any tips?

For a good T1 you have to have a very good run down to the first turn. Try get as much speed as possible. When I hit the S/F line I'm doing about 144 kmph (90 mph) Brake a bit early for turn 1, you want to try hug the inside barrier as much as possible doing about 60 kmph (38 mph) as you apex it. Then hard on the gas up to T1. Hope that helps at all.

That sounds exactly what I'm doing CT, but I haven't broken 16 yet.:(
There is a sign over hanging, 100m I think, I like to make sure I'm on the brakes at that, no later.
Then float to the apex, trying to get very close to the inside armco, will open up the exit so you can use full throttle.

Yep...I blew a 15.919 with a missed shift exiting Trafalger...it's doable......

Had a 2hr stint now and also produced nothing :ouch: Had my best splits yet in a lap 15.895 and 32.60x but as usual the nerves get the better of you and you mess the lap up lol. Will have another go later on and see what happens.

Exactly what I do, but as always over brake myself at the last second in turn one, :dunce: finding it hard to stay above 35mph.
Then foot out the door and peddle like mad to get going again. :scared:

Jesus, you guys really put the hours in on these TTs!!!

I've only done 2x10lap stints!!

T1 16.7
T2 34.x

Plenty left, but keep clipping walls on the exits when i'm pushing, so that's it for me...

Hi Dave^, welcome.
Do you have your full splits and your division for the leaderboard.
Just curious, you need to be GTP_ registered to compete in this comp, are you?

I don't want to tell you how to drive but if your hitting the walls on exit try waiting just a bit longer for the car to rotate, then accel, it might help.

And for 20 laps those are good times, another 20 and I'm just warming up.

Thanks Crazytortise. That actually helps a lot because it tells me I may not be navigating turn 1 as poorly as I thought I was. Apparently, I need to work more on the final corner because I'm only doing about 87 mph at the S/F line.

Thanks!👍

You forgot to mention the part where you miss the walls. :sly:

Seriously, the method described uses the whole track, which will make you faster. But also carries more risk of walls. Please be careful with your submissions. :)

No problem at all. 3mph doesn't sound like much but it will make a difference. Hope it comes right for you 👍

oh yes like Kevin said .... DO NOT HIT THE WALLS ....Thanks :D

You’ve heard of dancing with wolves, London should be renamed, dancing with walls.

I think i've 'got' the last corner. I don't shift up for the final corner, I stay in second and use the last 'distance' marker as my braking point. I brake just a little, after that I steer in (which is rather late) and go full on the throttle again. I think it's at the limit you can take it.

Try taking it in 3rd. Gives better drive. also that fraction of a second changing from 2nd to 3rd down the straight costs you that little bit of time.
Just my 2c :D

Oh and please do your best to miss the walls

It looks like I'm in for a tough time if all you guys are using manual. I cant use a stick for the life of me in a video game, so it looks like I will stay with the auto's :)

Treated me to a break from the garage for a short stint : (what for?)

I ask you an advice, do you shift up right before the end of revs or just when the red light switch on?

What I do is irrelevant , but the top ranking time shifts at 7200... can't be much wrong with that I guess :indiff:

This car has a very peaky power band. I'm letting it wind all the way to the end of the revs. I'm not the fastest guy here, but I've learned my share of tricks over the years. ;)
