First serious laps in anger tonight... I spent half an hour last night 'playing' but while it looked good, style points don't make fast laps.

Made a total mess of the chicane exit so a good bit to find yet. Hoping that Monaco will help me redeem myself from performances thus far in GT6. :sly:

1st sector vid anyone?

Ran some more, but no faster laps. Had better sectors, and I'm now staying in third for the first turn, and have a best t1 of .570. Also found quite a bit in t2 and found that staying in second for the hairpin in t3 helps with mid corner speed and is better on exit.

How am I a second behind the top guys in S1 and 4 seconds behind at S2?. I know I use auto and a DS3 but that is just insane.

Did another 15 laps yesterday evening with TCS turned down to 1 (made no noticeable difference from 3) and I improved my S1 PB by a tenth and S2 by 3 tenths but not on the same lap as usual. Not sure how much more time I can get if I can get everything nailed in one lap, am looking at a just sub-14 S2, not much beyond that:

S1: 27.593
S2: 1:14.209

Looking at the leaderboard, it looks like my complete lack of skill is showing....4 tenths behind the nearest D3 driver!! Can't see me running much more this week as I just can't see where I can make up any time....guess this is an event where using the auto transmission is a major penalty as can't imagine TCS 1 making that much difference and not sure I have enough control to use without TCS. Guess finally the week has come where I get a positive handicap score. Oh well

Yes auto transmission here could be bad. I find myself downshifting to the lowest possible gear, just to get the car to turn. You could try using this week to learn manual, up to you.

Also, I feel there's no need for TCS. I myself am stepping on the gas as hard as possible to get out corners as quickly as possible. Sub 200 HP and SS tires, the rears won't spin on you.

In other news, had a 1'11.0xx and in my excitement forget to save replay

As I do love Monaco, it was time to hit the track. First off I did a 30 lap stint online to get used/get in the flow with this car. Then I went back to arcade mode with these first splits :

Yeah, that's what I thought. I have tried using manual previously but I forget to change gears (loss of concentration the annoying side effect of heavy-duty painkillers! Sometimes I forget to brake even though I have the driving line on to remind me when I lose concentration for a second) so just stick with auto, though until this week it hasn't impeded me too much.

TCS-wise. I'm going to try without it later but I was almost spinning out accelerating out of the corner before the tunnel when using TCS 3 and out of the final corner using TCS 1. This car really doesn't like accelerating and turning at the same time!

Second stint today after I forgot to set Grip to Real on the first 50 laps this morning. Didn't really seem to matter, as it took me 48 laps to beat yesterday's ghost time set on real grip, but hey, rules are rules...

Uh-oh!This is going to take a LOT of my time this week :D Awesome combo 👍 I feel like Senna on a qualifying lap :dopey:

First splits:
27.378
1'12.512

I have a lot to learn about Ste-Devote and Casino

I dunno what others think, but IMO there's only one quick way around Monaco and any sort of deviation off this line will punish you not just on the next corner, but two or three after it.

The tunnel is the only breather you get. It might be split in three sectors but really there is only two parts to the track, before and after.

New splits after a more aggressive foray and no more waving to the nice Bikini-clad lovelies on those super yachts:

I do not know if the Mods are aware of this, but 174 BHP is not default for this car - the default is 166 BHP.
To get to 174 BHP you have to change the oil.[/I]

I have only just begun to drive manually.. and still forget to change gear.. or change down.. when I really want to change up..:D.. all confusing to my poor old brain cells.. don't think you need TCS on in this little rocket.. on soft sports.. should be more than enough grip.. to eliminate any wheel spin..

This is defaintly not my favourite track.. to drive around.. but it is a fun car..

had a few laps..
