GTP_WRS Week 92 : From Australia With Love

Well, a problem is beginning to develop with my wheel where it does not always register an up-shift. So, I switched to automatic shifting and have learned a great deal about my braking technique. I am finding that I tend to brake late and have relied on engine braking from down-shifting to help slow and rotate the car. The first several laps I ran in Automatic were slow as I was over-cooking the corners. But after learning to adjust my braking points, I am beginning to see improvement.

I'm pretty happy with my overall progress this week (actually like the track now) even though a big fat positive handicap awaits me tomorrow. Servers me right for "avoiding" this track for so long, I can't believe I'm not ready for this one to end.

Final splits (all 3 splits slower but gained some at the line)

20.700
1'08.416
1'43.283

Good luck to all 👍

3rd lap into the session and managed a lap never to again be repeated...gave me 1.7 seconds at the sector 3 split and 1.5 at the line so at least I managed to improve...and I managed to get a PB in all sectors though, given my slowness, that's not much of an achievement

S1: 20.694
S2: 1:08.960
S3: 1:44.510

Submitted with previous times despite having so much more time in it. Just can't manage to string a set of sectors together the past few weeks despite some good pbs. May have lost my cool when i had finally managed to string 3 good sectors together, on my way down conrod and the cat jumped in front of the screen and i stuffed it.

Heh... Would have been nice if someone mentioned that before I wasted 2.5 hours.

No time to run again, so I'm out.

None of my business but it was actually discussed on page one of the thread. Personally i've been buying a new car for each combo to be sure. Partly because i am unsure if i've improved body rigidity ect and i find it quicker than going through every tab and setting it to default.

I wont get a chance to run again and was pretty much out of steam anyway, will submit my lap with splits on the board 👍

Congrats to the guys who managed to find the extra few tenths at the back of the track ;) I should have been there with you guys as I had similar splits but it was not to be... that damn left hander after t3 stuffed me more than any other turn on any track :D

Unlucky with the car Chris, it's one of the reasons I buy all WRS cars as the event is posted, don't let it put you off mate.. plenty more good battles for you in the future ;)

Cheers Ron.

:(:banghead::boggled::yuck: had to scrap .402 T1, damn, damn, damn, should be a really good lap. :(

Well, i would loose some time on the mountain / downhill, but ... ach, i was so angry i forgot to save my best lap since then, which was only few hundredths better than previous 👎

Managed one quicker lap last night before turning in:

20.534
1:07.334
1:41.900

Shame I overcooked both important downhill turns after the sector 2. I also couldn't beat the lap afterwards, because anytime I was close enough, I'd promptly bin it worse or completely. Not happy with my best sector 3 times yet, either (which that one manifestly did not contain; should have been anywhere from .2-.6 more from the lap). More for next time!

Submitted, good luck out there, and don't hit any roos.
