Well this wasn't my best T1, but T2 is slightly improved. And I was nicely ahead of my ghost a few times, but always mess up that corner right after T2, or the one right after it...

T1 0'24.749
T2 1'02.414

Frustrating!!

New splits having reached my goal, but I think there are a few tenths still out there.

T1: 24.705
T2: 1'02.029

I had another run this morning and managed splits of .389/.341, but ended up .050 slower at the line, so I'm submitting with my current leaderboard splits. As usual at Fuji, the 3rd sector will be the most telling as a lot of time can be gained/lost there.

Good luck to all who have submitted and to those still trying to improve.

I know just what you mean Ian, seeing some of the comments like "Frustrating" I've thought about it the past 5 days, its a very hit and miss combo.

As you say very easy to lose time at Fuji F or GT, it seems like T1 and T2 are just a muscle flexing exercise and that last sector is a killer if your not perfect..

Still resisting the submission for now, as I think the D2 big boys will come and give me a smacking soon. :ouch:

Phillip.

Well, I did a few more laps, and found where I was making a mistake that made up a decent ammount of time. My T1 was a bit slower, T2 was improved a bit, and I didn't do my best in the last section, but it was good enough to improve my time a bit. Still room for improvement, but there always is...

T1 0'24.758
T2 1'02.197

And a second session. Nice improvement on T2 but have been faster in the 3th sector. Putting it all together is the problem, as usual :).

T1: 24.656
T2: 1.02.303

New splits

24.515
1.02.160

Unbelievable, i have no clue what im doin wrong between T1 and T2. My T1 is top 3 time at the leaderboad at the moment and with my T2 time, i'm down to 15th :ouch: That T2 time is even .02x slower then the first splits i posted. But i did improve halve a second at the finish. And that's what count :sly:

I managed to cut 7/10th's out of the 1st 2 sectors, but always lose it in the final. so frustrating, ill have another run tonight before submitting.

Roomboter, Im struggling with similar problem. What helped me, After turn2 make sure you get back over to the left as much as possible for better entry into the long right hander. You may have to sacrifice some turn2 exit speed but the better angle going into the sweeping right is much faster. Double apex the sweeping right. At the end of the sweeping right use all the track on exit, you have plenty of time to get back to the right side of the track. For the next left do not get on the gas too early. The elevation change produces understeer. Roll the car through the middle then gas it hard. Experiment with this you'll see what I mean.

Question. Is it OK to go out of bounds on the last turn leading up to your lap for abetter top speed going into 1?

No cheating of any kind, these are relaxed races and we are experienced racers, we know what times can be done, and we can read your mind. We will know.
Nothing that goes against the spirit of the rules

Well I for one hope none of us do this sort of thing, as it's not in good spirit. :grumpy:

Phillip.

With turn 2 you mean Coco Cola i supose?

The sweeping right is 100R?

If i look at the replays of the top ten guys the stay all the way right at 100R.

And about the hairpin. Hairpins and me have never bin a good marrige

But will give it a try anyway.

Turn 10, where normally the Dunlop chicane is (Fuji F), is killer for me aswell.

EDIT
About you question.
The green area's arn't part of the track. Red and White are. So don't go over the Rumble's with more then 2 wheels. The others are aloud on the Rumble's.

Please correct me if i'm wrong

drandad, Im just trying to figure where I am losing .150 in T1, I widened my T16 line and I can nail .5xx T1s now just wanted to make sure I wasnt being disadvantaged by staying in bounds. Ill try and post a replay of my lap when this is over including mt T16 exit

Roomboter, yes T2= Cocacola. This is what helped me. I have not seen the top replays. For turn 10 brake and turn in early or welcome to undrsteer nightmare.

For turn 13 I found it best to stay in third gear.

I'm with the old man on this one ;)

A mid to low .5 in T1 is a very good sector. The only reason the likes of Animera can break it is because they are aliens.

Yeah Im sure a bad T1 to Animera and other D1 is a low 5. I altered my T16 line a bit and it wa easier to lay down low 5s. Obviously the D1 guys know the perfect line and have the exceptional timing and vision neede to nail it.

Animera has reached .3xx territory (👍 to you Animera) which clears my T1 by .150. Im sure some of that is a killer T16 exit. Just wanted to make sure I couldnt go out of bounds @ T16 for the warmup lap. My T16 was by no means killer and my turn 1 could have been better so I just ran out of talent

Time submitted

T16 is a tricky one. I seem to take a different line each lap.

A crappy first corner and masses of wheelspin getting out of the hairpin, even so, this is my only and best attempt. Oh man, I'm really rusty at GT5P .

T1: 25.280
T2: 1.04.002

Everytime I start a new session, my T1 is always within .4xx for the first 10 laps or so. After that I seem to lose momentum and i'm always hitting mid to high .5xx most of the time which I find weird. It happens even when I think I get a very good entry/exit at turn 1.

Anyway, i've managed to improve my laptime with these splits with a slighty worse off T2 than my last one.

T1: 0'24.517
T2: 1'01.550

Good going Sinibomb in your 1st WRS

I am the same Alex best T1 to date is .444

New times think I'm about done on my goals.

T2: 1'01.547

I'm with Phillip on this one. I figure the rules apply to your run to the line to start your flying lap. I found that taking a very wide line through the last turn on your buildup and then not putting 2 wheels off the rumble strip when you come onto the straight gave me the best run down to turn 1, as you lose a tiny bit of traction when the outside wheels bump over that rumble strip. My indicator was to change to 4th at 170km/h just before you cross the white line across the track.

When you're taking the last turn at the end of your lap, it's a different story as you want to get to the finish line as fast as possible.

Final splits:

T1 0'24.912

T2 1'02.889

Think that's about all I'm able to get out of this.

Time submitted

I've just tried a couple extra laps trying out some different lines. Improved quite a bit.
I'll try again tomorrow night, hopefully I can find a tenth or 2 in T2 (thats where I'm losing time compared to other Div4 times)
I have a question about wheels if its ok to ask here.
I've noticed most of you have the DFGT so...
Is the G25 really worth so much more than the DFGT? I can get a DFGT for £100~ ($160~) less than a G25.

I think I've left it a bit late this week to challenge for a divisional podium spot but I've just had a quick blast for the fun of it.

1st session:
T1: 24.643
T2: 1'02.101

I have a question about wheels if its ok to ask here.

There's a whole raft full of information and opinion here https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=163 I think this is probably the best place to look. 👍

I really like the DFGT, its newer than the G25 and has the same mechanism inside. But , if i really wanted a clutch and H-shifter (which i dont ) I would get the G25.

Don't forget the pedal set is pretty naff on the DFGT compared to the G25.
