This thing is a little too wild for my taste :indiff:

First ten or so laps gave these splits:
T1: 14.349
T2: 28.673

This combo doesn't seem to have ignited people's interest. I hope it's that people are finishing off last week's combo rather than because they don't like this one.

Ordinarily I don't particularly like this car, but on flowing tracks like this it plays nicely. Wish I'd have caught one of the times this car was (inevitably) run at Suzuka.

For a laugh, it should be done around London Reverse...Or Eiger, trying to get it through those hairpins.

The F2007 around London Reverse is a nice challenge. IMO the track flows nicer backwards, especially in something that fast.

Anyways, this week challenge - wow :sly: only the lack of deadzone is killing my arms down the straight.

A fairly mediocre first effort (slowest T1 of anyone!), I fear I really won't have the time to improve it this week.

T1 0'14.507
T2 0'28.211

PS I can't find the invisible walls post(s), anyone got a link? Cheers.

Submission:

All submissions must be sent by PM (Subject title: GTP_WRS Week 83 Submission ) to (Vaxen):

Should this be week 97 not 83?

Should do better on this one, have run more laps with the F1 2007 than anything else.

I think I'm finally getting to grips with the F2007.
I just chopped off a huge amount of time.
I had a target time in mind & I've beat that already!
Comparing my times to those already on there I am increadibly happy with that lap!
I suspect I'll quickly fall down the standings when others start trying this week.

T1: 14.278
T2: 27.893

First 20 laps in this rollercoaster combo resulted in first splits of

14.821
29.438

... but I have hopes to improve quite a bit. The noise of that thing!
Nice semi-last visit to HSR in Prologue I guess 👍

Not posting any splits just yet. The ffb on the F2007 is proving a bit to much for my temporary set up! However, my wheelstandpro was dispatched yesterday so I will be giving it a good run towards the end of the week

I'll pass this week. HSR is my least favourite track and the F2007 is no fun at all, it's just oooooohhhhh myyyyyyyy goooooooooodddddd!!!! Pretty much like Richard Hammond described it.

I must admit, this my first real try with the F1, on any track. And it is wild!!! Need to get used to this. :P

T1: 14.366
T2: 28.327

I'd been chipping away thousandths here and there, but then I hit my best T2 and put in a stonking finish to the lap for my best time yet.

T1: 14.293
T2: 27.822

Edit: ooh, that's the best middle sector as well :P

I have been cracking my knuckles in anticipation for this! Good choice this week! Get times up soon.

Unable to be competitive this week in a automatic, but I am happy with my time to date, so I'm submitting with splits on the board.

Good Luck everyone 👍

This sounds like fun Will try it this weekend when i'm back from berlin. Was visiting the IFA and tried GT5 in 3D btw.

See you guys at the leaderboard :)

Being pretty pleased with my time and after not improving on my last session I thought I'd probably call it a day with this week's combo.

Went to have a little look at some of the replays on the leaderboards and, ermmm... yes they're interesting.

Has there been some sort of patch that has changed the handling of this car at some point, because some of the things being done in these replays just aren't possible, and the splits being set are light years faster than anything being listed here. 13.9's in sector 1, Low 27's in sector two. Not even braking in the first corner, massive final corner apex speeds.

Surely that's not the same physics we are using now?

I believe there is a lot of wall running going on. If you get close to the wall and the cobbled curb it gives you a tight turn while not losing much speed.

Im fairly certain that the TT leaderboards are reset after any physics updates. I agree with what you say about the top guys cornering speed seeming in possible, but Im sure they are possible. Its just figuring out how:grumpy:

Im sure we'll see splits similar to those in the fastest replays later on in the week when some of the D1 Gold racers post.

Some of it seems bizarre though. DHolland's replay shows him not even braking for turn one and just shifting down a couple of gears to lose a bit of speed, but the speed being carried is way above what seems possible to be carried. I'm not talking small margins here, I'm talking about 15-20 mph, similarly for the turn after T2 with regards to mid-corner speed.

More the reason that I think it seems odd is that you've got 5-6 people here who've all put in laps that are pretty much indistinguishable from one another and one (assumes) represent close to the limit of what's there to be had. Otherwise it's a pretty big coincidence for them to be so similar.

These replays are taking 3-4 tenths off our times in each and every sector.

I'm going to have to submit what I've got because I can't match it today certainly, but based on the replays our T1's and 2's are what they are and that's fine, and I guess we'll see how sector 3 turns out, but if those replays represent anything like what others are doing here then my sector 3 is a complete donkey, despite it being about the best one I've managed on any lap.

I think most of them are legitimate. If you look at the dates, most of the top 100 times were set in January 2009. There was a huge inter-forum TT championship of which this event, the last of ten, was a tribute to the crazy guy who organised it. There were around 200 participants, and less interestingly, it was the last time I used my sixaxis before switching to the G25.
Dan :)

Was thinking of giving this WRS another go, not the biggest fan of this track but couldn't turn the F2007 down.

T1: 14.259
T2: 28.262

I can improve, can't get the 2nd turn after the tunnel right.
