General Information and Regulations

As with last season there will be three types of race event during the season. There will be 4 Standard rounds of 50mi and 5 Enduro rounds of 100mi and 1 Super-Enduro round of 150mi.

Week starts on Monday, with times to be sent via PM by 11.59pm GMT on Sunday

There is NO HP penalty for joining the series part way through the season.

All rules, regulations, car specifications, and races are controlled by GTPCTC sanctioning body, umm...me for now unless the GTMSA wants to pick me up :P. Any and all questions should be directed to GTPCTC officials (namely me..and anyone else who wants to help out) and officials will do their best to answer in a timely and accurate manor.

All drivers must run at the specified weights and horsepower settings provided by me for each round. Horsepower and/or weight settings are adjusted for competitive reasons each round based on finishing positions from previous rounds.

* Standard Online Racing Rules Apply.
* No Cheating, hybrids, etc. You must run the car specifications I give you
* Try keeping at least 2 wheels on course. Long races = small mishaps, but absolutely NO shortcuts
* No wall-riding as well. Combined with penalties, this will slow you down considerably, so don't do it.
* All decisions by GTMSA officials are final
* The race track for this season will be defined as the area between the white or yellow lines. This means rumble strips do not count as track.

Race

* Single race (arcade mode) lasting either 50mi (standard) or 100mi (enduro) with the exception of Round 9 which is a 150mile race, but will be considered an enduro.
* Weight penalties in place
* SS, SM, SH tires or any combination thereof
* Strong Tyre Wear
* AI difficulty is player's choice between 0 and 10. No negatives.
* Ai tyres SS
* Forced Pit Entry penalty system
* ASM is prohibited TCS is optional
* Points for race: 10-8-6-4-2-1

o07yaw.png

But on the Race I have 1723?

Which am I running?

***Edit***

Deadline: 11:59pm Sunday, June 70th<<<<<<?

fixed the date, I'll fix the weight issue later.

NOTE: I'm gonna let this race run an extra week to get back to the staggered schedule with the LMS series.

^ You spelled it wrong, moderator...it's w00t! ;) with two zeros...

...just kidding...:P

So I ran an ST early (or part of an ST...20 laps anyways) before qualifying was done. Forget what difficulty I used, but it seems the Ai doesn't get as much of a chance to punt here...but maybe I just got lucky. Main competition was a Renault Cliosport V6 (again) and some other car that jack-rabbited way ahead. I think I may try doing it without jack-rabbits this time (so I win) but then the race itself might wind up being another bore-fest.

Will have to pass on this and the next two races. RL is very busy. Hope to be back after GTPLMS is through.

As we have extra time and I already finished my GTPLMS Race I may reconsider skipping the Races. It was the thought of 40 laps which was dampening my enthusiasm, especially with two classes to run and not a lot of free time available this weekend.

I will get at least one Race done, possibly two.
So look for me in your mirrors ;)

Nice to know I am missed/or mad at :lol:. But July is very bad for me. And come Sept. I think the fall / winter will be a bear. But will get to what I love when I can. 👍

I can tell you that any thought of me running a GT2 tourney is tabled for a while.

Well, if I get a job and a PS3, November will be bad for me. :P GT5, Need For Speed Hot Pursuit...I think if I can get Test Drive Unlimited 2 the day it comes out, that'll give me 2 months to get it out of my system. :P

The problem we all face in life. 👍 Get a job and then buy the system but still have to go to the job that bought the system. And don't have the time we want for the system we bought with the job we have.

Sounds alot like Pete and Repeat went out in a boat. :)

right. First step: get a job. PS3 will be reward for the job. and getting a place of my own.

But anyways, I'll run these races sometime this coming week.

Qustion: The next few races in this series are 100mile races, so they're long. However, I'm kinda iffy on if I should run them for 2 weeks or just 1 'cause if I run them for 1 week, then it'd keep the Qualifying lined up with the LMS races and visa versa, but if I do two weeks, everything has the potential to get all mixed up and you might end up doing 5 races or qualifying laps a week. So....it's up to you guys. What do you think I should do?

:idea:I'd chat with ABud for the sake of coordination of the calendars for both series.;)

Alrighty then, starting (kind of late, I know!) to have a run at this race...
Lined up against AI Difficulty of +6. Great race, had very minor contact with the HSC ending the 1st lap as he tried to drive through me going into the hairpin, and got heavily rammed from behind by a disgruntled Lotus Esprit (or should that be Lout-us! :lol:) when I'd lapped him about 3/4 of the way through prior to my last pitstop, and 1 minor wall graze coming out of the hairpin. Managed not to leave the track with all 4 tyres at any point too, so I'm happy enough with this run that I'll make it my submitted effort.

Came in 3rd behind a Shelby Series 1 Super Charged '03 and an Acura HSC '04.
A word to the wise, don't forget to either snap a screenshot just before you finish the race to record your fastest lap, or write it down, as the replay save will cut off about 2/3rds into the total race time, and if you do your fastlap after the cutoff it won't get recorded! ;)
The time on your replay save will be your total race time, not that of the race winner, so that's what you can submit. 👍

Musical accompaniment while racing (iPod on random shuffle):
She's A Star - James, Transient - Orbital, Lovefood - Michael Mayer, Anti Everything - Mansun, One More Try - A New Funky Generation, Round The Universe - Seahorses, Death And All His Friends - Coldplay, Ooh La Ooh La - They Might Be Giants, Cowboys - Portishead, Pride (In The Name Of Love) - U2, Michelle - The Beatles, Hi Hi Hi - Paul McCartney & Wings, Evil And A Heathen - Franz Ferdinand, Tattva - Kula Shaker, Teddy Bear - Elvis Presley, Log Of Deadwood - The Orb, This Could Be My Moment - The Verve, It's Over - John Legend Featuring Kanye West, Requiem For A Jerk - Faultline, Brian Molko & Francoise Hardy, Chico's Groove - The Chemical Brothers, The One [Bitrocka Remix] - Kylie Minogue.

One thing I do is pause the race on the last lap and record the fastest lap...especially if I know the last lap is going to bomb. And it the last lap is the fastest, that's the first thing I write down before the stupid replay starts.

I'll have to run a race tomorrow and Sunday. Remember the extra day. I might even run the ST race on Monday and do LMS laps on Sunday.

I always pause, and then try to capture a shot of the finishing tally with my cell camera. I also have a notepad & pen handy, so I can manually write down the Total Time before I forget it (in case the cell camera pic is hard to read). Although a few weeks ago I screwed up and pushed the START button just after crossing the finish line (at Autumn Ring) while trying to get my ST class picture taken, which means the replay CUT OFF and I didn't have a final time to post! :mad: I actually then put the replay on fast-forward to try to see if I could get a final time, but the replay kept cutting-off right before the end of the race. :banghead: Had to do the entire ST race over then!

Speaking of which, my ST class race at Sears Point (which I actually ran last week) was one of the BEST ever. Ran it at +6 or +7 (forget which) but there was never a dull moment. The lead kept changing between me, an old RX-7, a Nissan Silvia, and an Audi A3. Every pit stop rotation ther'd be a different leader in other words. It was so good I actually cleared memory by erasing some other races on that card so I could save the ST race!

The replay cut off at Lap 33 or therabouts, while I was in 2nd or 3rd place. Was pissed because I actually won the race. There was a moment when I was zooming out of curve #10 (towards the pits) and I saw this dark shape JUST IN TIME. Turns out, the RX-7 lost it at some point, got sideways, and was blocking half the track as it tried to right itself! :eek: I only missed it by mere inches! :D

I think what made it a good race was the fact that (somehow) the Ai didn't screw up very often. I'm noticing many Ai CANNOT drive Infineon very well...:indiff: without a grand slide off-course (or several grand slides) during the race at some point(s). Depends, though. BMW Ai drive flawlessly here. So do the Acura HSC, Shelby S1, Lotus Esprit 350 Sport, Lancia Stratos, and a couple others.

The replay save you get, although it doesn't play to the end always shows your total race time regardless of where you finish, as these 2 shots show:

Add the 11.627s that I finished behind the Shelby Series 1 Super Charged '03 to his 1st place finishing time, and you get the total time listed for my replay file in the save screen. 💡

So no worries about re-running races to capture finishing times. ;)

Sorry if this is ruining the results, but I'm not intending to run anymore on this, as we're off out mountain biking now in Marin County, and I figured it'll help out people and avoid replay confusion. It also shows proof of all the qualifying & race times I've submitted so far... :D

See you all at the finish line...

I've got no hope of getting any times down. It's 9pm and I'm shattered after spending a significant amount of time over the last weeks up to my arse in the oily side of cars (Smallhorses has an evidenciary image :D)

Yup, I've seen a photo of Famine stood inside the vacant engine bay of a Mazda MX-3! Quite understandable that removing more-or-less the entire front end of a vehicle might use up a minute or two! :lol:

Anyway, SuperShouden, any chance you could refrain from posting in every thread of the GT5 board and give us some GTPCTC resulty goodness instead? 💡 :P

Oooh, and a new qualifier... 👍

Results will be up tomorrow along with the new qualifier. Only 5 times including my own. I only got the GS race done, though. I started the ST race, but 8 laps in and the Renault Clio that was in the lead was already 1'24.xx a head of me. Yeah, I was going to be lapped...A LOT. And so I quit the race and was going to just run the race with a lower difficulty, but decided not to and went and did the Vitz series in GT Mode instead. :P

Also, apparently, most people want to keep the CTC and LMS races staggered, so that's what's going to happen. Sometimes it's not the length of the race that's the issue, it's the number of races you have to do. :)

:cheers: for the results! I'm coming to get you Parnelli Bone! :mischievous:
Shame about the lack of submissions this week, even with the extra time, :( but hopefully we'll get some more for Fuji now that the holiday weekend is out of the way.
Anyway, got to get a head start, dragging this extra 5% around and staying competitive is hard work!!! :ouch:

It was interesting that I really didn't really have to change up the weight penalties 'cause the people who had the weigh penalties in GS finished in order. :P
