4-inifinite consecutive drifts for pros. Does this mean that if i can drift 4 corners at a given track, I am considered pro? Because for now I only save my replays if I have drifted as many corners on the course and it looks good. Also, can anyone recommend a good program that I can use for putting my vids on the comp and then upload them. That would help a bunch.

They must me continuous (non stop drifting) of those four or more corners before you are considered pro...

Any video capturing program would do... infact the ones that come with most video cards will serve your purpose. For general video capturing i use ulead and video editing i use primeire...

To upload to the internet you need an ftp that you have permission to use and an ftp client... 19xx is giving some space for drifting videos... perg is moving to a challenge use only... and hopefully soon i will also offer some space... For 19xx's info search this forum or pm him...

hey, think about it. drifting a lower HP car with gripper tires is a lot harder than drifting a higher HP car with slicker tires. 750HP is nothing, try a maxxed Supra(1048HP), it is fast but still easy. Hey VenomousDrift, 600HP 4WD drifting? ehh, try a 700HP FR drift(no TCS) on sims. that is also hard/crazy, but still fun.

You only need a certain amount of power in drifting. Since the tires have already broken traction, you're not putting more power to the ground when you give it more throttle. You're really just accelerating the wheels. When you have enough power to put the wheels at whatever RPM you need, there's no point in having any more power. Since power like that usually comes at a price, it can be difficult to find balance.

When you think about it that way, sims, slicks, or super softs, it makes no difference.

Pergatory breaks it down.

It doesn't take any more skill at all. The more balanced a car is, the more responsive it is. Therefore, a poorly balanced car only hides bad skill, whereas a nicely tuned car makes your skill (or lack thereof, as the case may be) more obvious. That's why I have the R32 tuned the way it is. It does exactly what you tell it to. As a result, if a bad driver tries to drive it they will be screwed, but if a good driver tries it will be a beautiful thing.

I have made a prelim video where I really only have 1 part I am unsatisfied with. I still got a lot of work to do. I think it is more the length of the couse and the technicallity of the turns that makes it quite challenging.

You posted that you wanted to use both the Trueno and the FTO LM.

I'll revise the list tomorrow, okay? ;) It's nighty night for me: 1:30AM over here on Lunes, 15 de septiembre 2003 :D

I just checked at the top and noticed I could make multiple entries. If I am satisfied with a run in my Trueno I might just enter it in as well. I will let you know closer to the deadline if I will enter a second car.

I've created a temporary account for people to upload their Week 3 competition videos to. Here is the information:

Host: pergatory.net
Port: 21
Login: gtpdc@pergatory.net
Password: grandvalley

For those who don't know what to do with this information, check my thread on Hosting Videos. I will also soon post instructions for using Microsoft's built-in FTP system, but that will take some time and I'm on my lunch break right now. :)

I'm having a hard time getting one that I'm satisfied with too. I think I'm just gonna have to settle for a decent lap.

I think that's up to Thio. But I haven't seen Thio in a while so who knows what'll happen. I wouldn't assume anything though. Wouldn't it suck if you waited, and then he came back a few days later and decided to only accept videos submitted before 10/1? There may be no prize aside from glory, but it's still a competition :)

Hey guys, it seems like I'm really busy with schoolwork, and many other people recently have stopped coming by, so I might consider having to extend the GTPDC for another week. If you have your videos done, ask LanEvo to upload it for you and then tell me. I'll see what I can do, but for the next GTPDC, it may come soon :( I don't have a definite time yet.
