15 sec per lap or race?

Blaze you gotta understand while this problem is serious. I just am not effected nearly as harsh like others nor am I bent out of shape over it. I have faith it will be resolved.

Problem here is you are mistaken my lack of emotion as if I do not understanding the depth and seriousness of the issue at hand. LoL

I don't understand the issue with tire wear? So you make a few more pit stops, who cares...

It's unrealistic. Tyres don't last so little, nor are they so fragile. You spin, and there goes 1/4 of your tyre wear. Plus people want to race and win from on track action first and pit strategy second, and that was how it used to be. Now it's reversed, and you spend most of the time racing yourself really, and saving the tyres with such gingerly driving, instead of the action packed racing we used to have.

I atleast want to be able to actually go in a room and nto get a black screen or be missing half the field before i worry about tires.. I can deal with the tires.. Thats not the pressing issue. It's the dumb glitching.

(Gaah I feel like a broken record...)You hear it right. 15 seconds per LAP slower than qualy pace. Where in practice race pace was 1:28's suddenly in the race on same tires full room i could only muster a 1:44 lap time. Meanwhile Pipi was affected to a lesser extent and Tissimo to an even lesser extent. He says that his laps where in the 1:35's( he describes the car as having the same braking points etc but just being slower). My car just drove like a cow simply put. They where miles ahead of me within the first 3 laps. I may suck but damn i'm not that bad..Tissimo and I were racing the same car, same class, same specs, Its beyond weird.

Thumbs up to Jav for postponing all of this. PD mucked up.

The soft tires are supposed to wear quickly; they're qualifying tires. So if you scrub them, they will build up heat as well as burn off rubber. That's how supper soft, sticky tires work. The more realistic tires remain: race hards, which is what we really should have started running to begin with anyways. Maybe to avoid all this shiz and extra pit stops, set mandatory RH tires, and go from there. Just an idea. Jav has final word, as always.

This is all only prevalent, of course, after the damn network is fixed :grumpy:

Racing hard tires lifespan is good, but their grip is laughable. They need the grip of mediums at least with the ability to go 20 laps. And Softs should last at least 10. While mediums can go 15. That's how it used to be and it was a good tradeoff, the thing is, the grip levels of the tires are kinda off. LMP's can do 3:25's for a half hour, This is with less than 650hp. I'm hopeful they'll sort it out. The bugs as well.

Didn't we experience this in the preseason race at Grand Valley?

Also regarding Nurburgring, I don't mind what we do! I was fortunate to gain third from every bodies misfortunes, but being realistic, at these current specs and my bad form, it wouldn't have been on merit.

Wouldn't mind running it again if we have to.

Hards are totally gripless, and generally useless because they don't last very long anyway. They don't have as much grip as they should. I say this because it's next to impossible to match real life laptimes in some cars when you give them Racing Hards. The Softs weren't created to be qualifying tyres, but it seems that is the case now that they will only last you a few laps as opposed to before.

Qualifying tires are a thing of the past, no racing series uses them anymore due to the ridiculous costs that came with that. Even then a set of qualy tires would definitely past longer than what our hard tires last. I know of a Trans Am team at the grass roots level that would run an entire weekend on the qualifying tires that the top teams threw away after 1 session.
My bigest problem with the current wear is that there's no time to settle to a rythm, everything is changing from lap to lap. There is no way to get confortable and build a proper race, you are practically stuck where you qualified, if you push too hard to close a gap you're toast! Lucky fell to this on Nurb, he was closing down fast on Tao but he pushed it to far nit knowing Tao was on mediums and he stretched his stint 1 lap too far runing out of tires mid lap, by the time he got to the pits he was already a lap down, from being up to 4th to being lapped in half a lap is just unacceptable. Owens who is known to be a very cautious, strategic and fast driver fell for this too. The biggest problem is that there is no way of predicting tire wear, anything from the last 1/4 down is just a gaamble. And using Meds or Hards is not a real option, Magz and Tao went this route and paid for it as Tissimo overtook them both by sticking with the softs, at the end of the race the 3 of them ended up with the same number of stops but Magz and Tao suffered from the huge performance loss. It just doesn't make any sense.

On 2nd though don't skip nurb redo... I doubt I'll make it to the race on the 22nd. Also Feb 5th... Going to watch the super bowl instead.

You are completely right. But pre 2.02 it used to be enjoiable, the tire wear used to make for good racing and eventhough it wasn't realistic it would spice things up with pit strategy, you could extend your stint and gain 1 or 2 sometimes 3 extra fast laps to your last stint and make up possitions on the closing stages of the race. Now that just not possible, where in the past you'd take care of your tires to extract 1-2 more laps out of your stint now you hope you can get an extra 1/4 of a lap so you can make it back to the pits!

I didn't realize it was the Superbowl weekend... Guys if you want to push it back a week let me know, I mean it's the Superbowl I know some don't give a crap about it but it is the Superbowl!

So, what's the word with Division 2? Do we have to redo the race too?

This was from Jav for Div2.
We do not have to re-race the Nurimb. GP race. I believe that the results from that race will stand as our room didn't have the glitches like Div1 had. We had a tiny bit, but not enough to make us re-do the race. We will resume racing after the new update to GT5. We will proceed with the race at LaSarth following the update. Practice and have some fun till the next race.

"THE RACE FOR THIS WEEKEND IS POSTPONED"

You all have a great weekend.:)

What ever you decide.👍

Playing with my car in this cold weather.. Feels slow so try turning on my boost controller to 5% duty.

Too much :( lol..

Only have injectors to hold ~ 23-24 psi... Need bigger ones.

Also my Mickey Thompsons.. Instantly blew the tires off in 2nd..

Jav!! This is the greatest mod ever!(Well as good as Enduracers).
At first i kind of just picked a car and saw the Z4 GT3. Did a 5 lap race at Spa, the cars i competed against where R8 lms's, Porsche 997 gt3's and Ferrari F430's
After backing out to home screen and stumbling upon the "Spa 2011" folder i found !! SLS AMG GT3, 458 GT3, Aston Martin DBRS9 GT3, Gallardo LP....,Mclaren MP4-12C gt3 !!! I almost peed myself! Now im going to race all these cars....

Hey once one of us figures out how to host a server...Its on!

Magz have you downloaded yet?

It an awesome mod! I love it very well done, the cars sound and drive awesome!
