For next year: if we keep this thing to 16 teams, we should have more than 4 teams in the playoffs.

I believe the cap this year was 20 teams and I think the cap next year should be 16.

A consolation play-off for 4 teams would be excellent too if we don't want more than 4 in the main one.

Cap at 14 teams and start the playoffs a week or two earlier, so nobody gets screwed by their players getting rested in week 17.

I just hope that we have a entire league of active players for an exciting trading block. I believe there's enough depth in FA at the moment for 16 players so I don't see anything wrong with the current amount of teams.

Looks like Ball Busters and I going right to the line. Bilal Powell and Michael Crabtree vs. Aaron Hernandez and Wes Welker. His play-off hopes rest on this match-up.

http://football.fantasysports.yahoo.com/f1/356842/matchup?week=15&mid1=14&mid2=3

Out of interest, why do we use Yahoo! Fantasy and not the NFL.com's?

I missed a potential outcome.
If Adrenaline loses, Ball Busters loses and Spacegoats wins, then Spacegoats can get in on points, as long as he's within 24 points of Adrenaline.

It's going to be close. I'm 8 pts behind at the moment but I've still got Chris Johnson and the Jets D to play tomorrow.

So I wasn't expecting freezing rain and a ball slipperier than greased-up-deaf-guy.

Brady better get it together.

Doesn't everyone get week 18 off? :sly:

Assuming Chris Johnson and the Jets can combine for 8 points, Spacegoats is going to the playoffs!

Trying not to count my chickens, especially considering how inconsistent both Chris Johnson and the Jets D have been throughout this year. :nervous:

Looks like that trade between you and me, Gooks of Hazard benefitted the pair of us really well.

Crabtree and Denver were the difference for me this week.

New England have put up stupid numbers in by-gone weeks and Brandon Lloyd had 190 yards last night. Nate Washington's yet to play for you too.

EDIT: Oh and I'm going to put it out there but maybe consider having a WR/RB/TE flex?

And why don't use NFL.com's Fantasy out of interest?

The projections said I did not stand a chance this week, but I had some players really step it up and I pulled out a win. I’ve squeaked by all season with an anemic bench and a few injuries that really hurt my chances. Let’s see if I can get lucky for two more weeks. :scared:

I would also like us to switch to nfl.com next year. As far as the number of teams go…I really don’t care much, but what I would like to see is smaller bench slots. In one of my other leagues we only have three bench slots, which make it far more interesting and fun managing the bye weeks. It also prevents people from hoarding players.

I agree. I made that trade primarily to increase my depth and even my bench was able to score 95 points this week. 👍

Nah... If we had that then nobody would start TEs unless it's Gronk.

Is it better?

Looks almost identical to the Yahoo! version with less of a timelapse in real-time scoring. All the gossip and Fantasy talk by Fabiano are all tailored for it.

Lest us not forget Week 10 when Yahoo! Fantasy screwed us over. The website crashed 30 minutes before game-time and didn't really fix that gameweek. I couldn't swap Chris Ivory for Ryan Broyles after learning Ivory was active for that game. Didn't make a difference as Villian blew me out by over 80 points haha.

I just think NFL.com is perhaps more reliable than Yahoo!

So it looks like the playoffs will be seeded as such:

1. Gooks of Hazard (Me)
2. Joe Philbin's Head (Omnis)
3. The Wicky Radsters (UnoMOTO)
4. The Spacegoats (Spacegoat)

Should be an interesting two weeks.

HERN is back.

These last two weeks will be very interesting. I know i'll win one of my games.

I'm going to make the playoffs.

Looks like you've jinxed yourself out of this one haha.

Spacegoats deserves that last berth. He's been really unlucky this season and on paper had the best all-round roster in my opinion until he lost his blue-chip WRs in Harvin and Jackson.

I'd like to suggest that the format be 1qb, 2wr, 2rb, 1flex, 1def, 1k.
Only 1 RB was kinda weird. I wouldn't mind trying NFL.com, haven't had a league there yet. I can say for a fact I dislike ESPN's layout, but Yahoo has always had a ton of nice features and I don't notice any timelapse in Yahoo's stat tracker. I agree 7 bench spots is too many for this size of a league, but I think 3 is too few. I think 5 is the minimum. Even my 20 team league uses 6. Should also force waivers, so that everyone has fair chances at players. Picking people up mid-game gives an advantage to those who can be at their computer all day Sunday.

Amen. 👍

Just the Commissioner's vote remains.

I have yet to hear any ideas that make me think I wouldn't want a league like that (although I think UnoMOTO's 3 bench idea needs further discussion because I can see that being controversial), so I'm on board with the consensus.

If it were a money league I might argue more on individual points, but with no money on the line I don't mind altering rules/strategy.

Well, I'm trying to jinx you, so... :D

Thanks a bunch.

Hey if it wasn't for that 🤬 up, I wouldn't have received 20% off of the Panthers cap I ordered from them. :dopey:

I'm down for smaller bench slots, but 3 is way to small, 5 or 6 would be perfect in my view.

Haha. I'm off to Florida next Spring so I'll grab my Jacksonville cap down there and it'll be cheaper than $20. I hope :)

I think one back-up for each position is necessary really so:

1 QB
1 WR
1 RB
1 TE
1 K
1 DEF

Six slots on the bench :)

I'd like to suggest that the format be 1qb, 2wr, 2rb, 1flex, 1def, 1k.

(Missing the TE position if intentional or not)

But this is my vote:

1 Quarterback (QB)
2 Running Backs (RB)
2 Wide Receivers (WR)
1 Flex RB/WR/TEs (RB/WR/TE)
1 Tight End (TE)
1 Placekicker (K)
1 Team Defense/Special Teams (DST)
6 Bench (BN)

Flex TE is crap because it'll deplete the pool.

Flex TE is crap because it'll deplete the pool.

Don't forget the vote is to have bench slots reduced by two.

I believe most teams will resort to having one TE in their roster next season after the bye-weeks even with a flex because of how weak the position is in fantasy football.

For me as I have Pitta, Miller and Harbor all in my roster, I would like to start at least two which I would do in 2 TE formation in real-life. Of course, you're not obliged to start 2 in fantasy football.

One backup-per-position is only viable in a league that is this size or smaller. 32 NFL teams means that, if all things went fairly, everyone would be able to get at least two starters from each position.

I had 1-2 empty bench slots for weeks in a row because I honestly felt that every FA available was just as good as an empty player slot. I only filled them at the deadline and the players I grabbed just look shiny on my bench - I think only the NE Defense was able to start out of my deadline dealings. Lloyd, etc... have barely been considered.

Of course if you lose your first three draft picks to season ending IR then you'll be looking at filling your bench and changing up your line-up every week.

I mean if you suffer injuries to starting line-up, that's when a fairly sized bench would be appropriate. You're not forced to sit 5-6 players on your bench, its your decision on who you have in your roster.

I just tried to join but it said the registration is over. :(

No wait, forget it, my mistake, I assumed it was proper football.

Duh!
