GTPlanet iRacing Touring Car Cup. *interest*

It's looking sad... Let's see what ash does in the comng weeks, if it doesn't go anywhere we move on...
 
If Mildashers doesn't show up I can take over arranging the Jetta TDI tour and hosting the races if there is still interest in the series.

I will send Mildashers a PM asking his intentions and availability with regards to the Jetta TDI tour. If I don't hear somehting from him in a couple of days I will copy over the tour material to a new thread and we can start/restart the Fall Season GTPlanet iRacing Touring Car Cup discussions and plans.
 
OK, Mildashers is too busy with RL (real-life) so he gave me his blessing to keep the series going.

At this point I am thinking of doing several things:
1. Keep the event order, but shorten the season
(that way we can finish this "Fall season" and then someone can start a "winter series" with changes/improvements)
2. Set and release the race calendar for the entire season
That way everyone will know in advance how much time they have to practice before the next event.
Since the race day and time was popular with everyone I will keep that intact and release dates for each race.
3. I will host the pre-race practice/qualify/race session on race day (~2h total time).
4. I will start a new thread for the GTPlanet iRacing Touring Car Cup (Fall 2011 Season).
5. And anything else that comes to mind to get this moving forward.


I am building on Mildasher's effort so all of us need to give MildAshers a big cheer for doing the hard work of getting this series off the ground!

Ohh definitely we owe big to him for steping up and creating this! Too bad he can't enjoy what hi started, hope to see you on track again soon Ashley!

I'm a complete newb to all of this season racing/hosting gig so I am following the KISS principle.
I am keeping the car as is since MildAsher's creation is titled Touring Car Cup and there is no other touring car comparable to the Jetta to add in. that is why I want to shorten the season so we at GTP can quickly start another series (multi-class, sport class? roadster class? etc).

Of course if anyone wants to start a new series ATT I say, "go for it!" and I will support you! (I am way to busy with RL!).

ok, off to start the work week! ugh! LOL

The hosting may seem a bit complicated at first but once you do it once it is pretty simple! I still have some credits on my account so if you'd like I could host the rest of the season for you.

For me it'd be the Mazda, Solstice or the SCCA Spec Ford.
Tracks I'd like to race on: Watkins Glen, Road America or Summit Point.

I'm fine with unofficial races until the 30 oct, as long as i race with you guys ! and with a password :)

Also i'm fine with the MX5 at Summit. I hope to see you all :)

A couple of tour add-ons to help bump up participation:

The Fall Season Champion (overall points winner) will receive $10 iRacing credit.

Two of the races (to be announced) in the Fall Tour will be designated "special" races. In these races if a pilot can score a 'hat trick' of claiming the pole position, fastest race laptime, and the race win, he will received $5 iRAcing credit.


(wish it could be more credits, but I am not as wealthy as a Warren Buffet! :dopey: ).
 
Hey guys! I'll be hosting an MX-5 session at Summit Piont today at arround 18GMT, that's 2PM USEST. It will be a 1hr free practice/15minutes quali/35 min race, everyone here is invited and welcome to join! The password for the session will be GTPFun .
I hope to see all of you guys there! Everyone has this track and car on the basic package so you won't need to buy anything!
Look for Javier Torres on the hosted session get in and have fun!!
