Great times guys! I took my little Datsun out for an exploratory lap. Only did the one, so there's bound to be some time to cut. Took the second half a little conservatively knowing I didn't have time for a second lap. Figured it was a decent mix of power and speed versus my usual ND (which clocked a mid-8:30 from what I remember):

New time for A Class:

07:23.759 - 2012 Lotus Exige S - 345 HP - 2256 LBS - MR - 700 - SlipZtrEm - Controller

Five seconds off @Im_Lukas, likely down to the lack of power. That said, the Exige is a fun car to pelt around the 'Ring, and utterly idiot-proof in its responses (which can't be said about the stock version). The tune is surprisingly competitive online at tracks that don't put such a priority on speed, but even here, I've stayed near the front of the pack. Feels good.

Was intending to run this a little more, but real life decided to slap me to the kerb. Currently recovering from a "pulmonary embolism", and on top of that my G920 wheel decided to develop a fault with the right paddle shifter, where by it would register as two individual button presses. One when pressed, as it should, and the other when I would let go.

I received my replacement Logitech G920 wheel last night (yep, at 8pm on a Sunday night), so I had to put it to the test. I decided to take out the Lotus Exige S around the Ring (go figure I would use that track, lol). I managed to set a fairly decent time, but I can see from the leaderboard that the car is capable of an extra 4 seconds at least. So far I have not tuned the car, I have just put a build on it. I feel it can be stabilized in a few places with the suspension tuning, which felt a little off in places.

There is a possibility for a follow up with this car also, as it is very quick around the corners, and it really fits with my "momentum" based driving style. But that was evidenced when we ran the stock version of this car in FM5, and I have always found the Elise's and Exige's easy to drive in any game that has them. I was also using my H-shifter, so there will be a little bit of time to make up by swapping to the paddles and a button clutch.

I hope you are recovering nicely, and get well soon. That's nothing to mess around with, and good thing they caught it in time. 👍

It started with coughing up blood, went to the hospital and they diagnosed me as having tonsillitis, prescribing me penicillin to treat it. This was a week ago yesterday. I knew that was the wrong diagnosis, so went to see my GP and told him straight that I think I have a pulmonary embolism, and complained about the hospital not doing a precautionary chest xray and blood tests to check for tumors or blood clots. Only reason it was found out was because I pressed the issue. My GP has been great though, and he is currently roasting the hospital admins and the doctor that misdiagnosed me.

Wow that's super scary, you were coughing up blood and they didn't even give you a chest X-Ray? Good thing you were on top of it, and kept with it. My brother is a pharmacist, he catches doctors all the time Misprescribing medications people shouldn't be taking with meds they are already taking etc. Its frightening how some incompetent people get into professions they have no business being in. Hopefully you start feeling better.

Surprisingly I feel great, even last Sunday I didn't feel ill. Was just coughing blood up, which can happen with a chest infection, so not a sign that something major is wrong in and of itself. The pe has been caught so early, that it hasn't caused much of an issue. Just have to take it easy till the blood thinners do their job. I am on rivaroxaban for the forseable future.

Was trying to beat the factory lap time for the real car, set in 1989. I don't know how the driver did it in moist conditions but I beat his time by half a second.

This car is absolute heaven, I could drive it all day every day. I only wish it had the 4 speed gearbox most 8Cs got rather than the 1934-specific 3 speed.

Guess I'll start doing some times again since I'm back playing.

07:48.535 - 2015 Mercedes AMG GT - 503 HP - 3573 LBS - FR - 657 - Casey - Controller

I'm casting revive, because I happened to set two clean laps about 10 days ago in the Ford cycled production hopper, and they've sat here saved in draft form since:

07:09.245 - 2017 Ford GT - 630 HP - 2890 LBS - MR - 794 - SlipZtrEm - Controller
09:06.213 - 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor - 450 HP - 5700 LBS - 4WD - 325 - SlipZtrEm - Controller

I felt a little bad setting the GT's lap, because only two other people finished the race within the 45 second timer, but when you're on a run, you don't really want to stop. The F-150 came up later that day, and it was quite the shock in comparison. It can be quite tidy if you remember to brake very early.

Modified B class:

07:38.900 - 1971 Ford Falcon XY GTHO Phase III - 327 HP - 2578 LBS - FR - 600 - lukas2121 - Controller

Built this car for maximum grip and it ran much better than expected, set a few new PBs on other tracks so decided to see what it can do at the Nordschleife, it's so easy to drive with this build but it loses so much time on the straights. I think with a more balanced build it may be able to reach @Ialyrn on the B class board.

And then a stock time:

07:18.040 - 2015 McLaren 570S Coupe - 562 HP - 3016 LBS - MR - 723 - lukas2121 - Controller

I think this car looks much better than the rest of the current McLaren line-up but it's kind of awkward to drive, it suffers from terrible understeer at high speed while managing to be well balanced in the low-mid speed stuff. No doubt there is some more time left in this one.

Why didnt i catch this thread before? Did loads of this on GT5 & 6.

I'l start out with 2 stock cars iv wanted to try for some time.

16:05.009 - 1957 BMW Isetta 300 Export - 13 HP - 920 LBS - MR - 100 - UnshavenYapper - Wheel

I only did 1 lap with that "car" pretty fun in the corners, but really dull 2ft out of the corners, so if anyone got the patience to beat my time, i wont give it another go. Not in stock form at least.

08:32.900 - 2016 Abarth 695 Biposto - 186 HP - 2198 LBS - FF - 373 - UnshavenYapper - Wheel

After driving that old BMW this thing was a BLAST! Did 3 laps and was pretty close to beat my Leaderboard time in this stock car.
I really like it, have to make some tunes for it and do some more laps. Thinking that more power is all it needs for a good D class tune.

Im gonna post my times from the Leaderboard that i know what tunes iv used.

08:47.776 - 1992 VW Golf GTI 16V MK2 - 174 HP - 2494 LBS - FF - 300 - UnshavenYapper - Wheel

08:32.200 - 2005 Lotus Elise 111S - 156 HP - 1873 LBS - MR - 400 - UnshavenYapper - Wheel

07:40.388 - 1988 BMW M5 - 421 HP - 2752 LBS - FR - 600 - UnshavenYapper - Wheel

Im Definitely going to do more Stock cars around here in the near future.

So doing this weekend iv put in a few laps.
I only did 2-3 laps with each car, so plenty of room for improvements on some of them, especielly on the Escort '92, Ford GT '05 and the BMW M6. That BMW is a pig that dosent want to brake or turn.

These are all Stock, and i listed them from the fastest to the slowest, trying to make it easy to copy/paste?

07:04.570 - 2017 Ford GT - 630 HP - 2890 LBS - MR - 794 - UnshavenYapper - Wheel

09:49.957 - 1981 Ford Fiesta XR2 - 84 HP - 1852 LBS - FF - 245 - UnshavenYapper - Wheel

11:31.616 - 1963 VW Beetle - 40 HP - 1760 LBS - RR - 150 - UnshavenYapper - Wheel

Doing this i did find the RS500 very good on this track. So i did a 2min tune on it and took .2 secs of the time posted above, but with a standing start and a minor screw up. So i will spend some more time with it and post up a time for modified later. I also did play with the HSV and the Jaguar E-type abit, so these times should go in the modified.

07:55.941 - 2011 HSV GTS - 444 HP - 4117 LBS - FR - 500 - UnshavenYapper - Wheel

08:39.802 - 1961 Jaguar E-type S1 - 265 HP - 2935 LBS - FR - 300 - UnshavenYapper - Wheel

It became a bit more then i planned on doing, but it was all fun, except that X6 M. But i did look up the official lap time for the Viper ACR and found myself 2 secs slower then the real life time. Guess i need to work on that since i dont have to care about dying, and just go for another lap :)

Some more stock times:

06:39.294 - 2013 McLaren P1 - 903 HP - 3296 LBS - MR - 867 - lukas2121 - Controller

07:08.683 - 2015 McLaren 650S Coupe - 641 HP - 3148 LBS - MR - 757 - lukas2121 - Controller

07:08.694 - 2011 McLaren 12C - 592 HP - 3031 LBS - MR - 737 - lukas2121 - Controller

First up the P1 is very nice to drive, was actually surprised to see it hit 225 mph on the back straight as well. Unfortunately every lap I ran in this car would have little mistakes in it (falling out of the carousel, sliding after hitting the grass) which left me with 4 laps in the 6:40.xxx range, there is still some time left and I look forward to revisiting this car.

I was expecting the 650S to be at least 3-4 seconds quicker than the 12C round here but the gap was a mere hundredth of a second, reasons for this probably begin with the car feeling much more prone to understeer which made some corners incredibly difficult to get turned in for. The 650S also felt like it had much softer suspension and at times almost felt like it was the track taking me for a ride, rather than the other way round. The 12C was absolutely perfect, turns in just as expected and never stepped out of line, highly recommend this car to try for others :).

Where to go next? Part of me wants to continue with the McLarens whereas part of me wants to take some of their rivals (LaFerrari, 918, 458/488) for a drive.

Well Horizon 3 didn't keep me as long as expected, I soon yearned for some Nordschleife action.

Stock:

07:56.973 - 2011 BMW Z4 sDrive35is - 335 HP - 3362 LBS - FR - 533 - lukas2121 - Controller

08:32.710 - 1967 Chevrolet Chevelle Super Sport 396 - 375 HP - 3585 LBS - FR - 350 - lukas2121 - Controller

08:36.972 - 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle Super Sport 454 - 450 HP - 3799 LBS - FR - 333 - lukas2121 - Controller

The Z4 is so well-balanced on the limit and actually surprised me with how fun it is to drive. Was able to hit 170 mph on the little downhill at the end of the back straight but then I went a tad too deep with the brakes and messed up the last 3 corners so it should be capable of times in the low 55s. I just wish we had the first gen Z4 (E85) over this second gen, there's something in the looks of this second gen car which just doesn't work for me.

The Chevelles have always been some of my favourite classic American muscle cars and they were pretty fun to take around the ring. They lean all over the place and eat up kerbs as if they weren't even there but selecting the correct gear for the corners made a big difference in time. If the 1970 model wasn't held back by the short gearing then it should at least be on par with the 1967 Chevelle.

I also gave the McLaren F1 a go but still think there is considerable progress to be made, it's certainly not an easy car to drive around here.
