The McLaren M23 of Gilles Villeneuve - REVIEW
From this picture, you could be forigiven for mistaking the car for 1:18 scale due to the detail. It is 1:43.
Exterior:
The model's exterior paint is a white base, with red stroke and black highlight lines. The sponsor decals all look very well applied and realistic, apart from the Goodyear decal on the front nose. The decal surruond is a slight different colour to the white the rest of the car. However, the rest of the car's exterior is brilliantly done. The car's shape, wings, and intakes is very well represented and deatures detailed radiators on each side.

Both the cockpit and the engine cover are removable and storable within the box.
8/10
Driver
Gilles is accuratley recreated here very well. The miniature decals on his race overalls are represented well for their sheer smallness. The painted race harness looks good and the helmet is well done.
8/10
Engine & Mechanicals
The Ford V8 Is very detailed for the size. The transmission is fully visible, as are the shocks and anti roll bars. The steering column goes into the steering rack underneath the bodywork, but as fully expected the steering does not work. This is no problem though because all you need to do is look at the model to understand it's quality and worth. The GoodYear tyres and wheels are well detailed.
Summary
The model is presented in classic minichamps fashion, with the familiar cuboid plastic cover, on the black plastic base with detail card. The REMOVABLE bodywork fits under a thin plastic casting and slides into a gap in the card under the car. A fantastic model overall, with pretty much everything you could want from a minichamps 1:43 F1 car: A legendary driver, a landmark car in the drivers career and very good detail and presentation.
Overall Verdict: 9.2/10
This shot is not blurred, but a phase between bodywork on and off
