Nice 👍

I'm thinking about getting a Team Modena Aston Martin DBR9 from Lemans last year 1:18th scale. If not then a Porsche 911 (997) GT3 RS in orange with black stripes. Just the way I like them. :)

Yeah the Team Modena DBR9 is a Solido, meaning it will open.

I wish Autoart would do the Team Modena livery. I prefer the look of the AA DBR9.

No problem 👍

I went to a toy fair at Kempton Park racecourse this morning and acquired a pair of Senna Minichamps models (the '84 Toleman Hart and the '92 Mclaren) for £38 each, and a pair of AutoArt Le Mans cars (the No.8 '03 Bentley Speed 8 (£15) and the No.27 '98 Toyota GT-ONE (£40)). The Toleman isn't faded, it's just the light:

Which now means:

6 GT-ONEs :)

Wow. I am envious...

But, wasn't there a road car? Or do you mean all the GT-Ones that raced? Or the black car (Ha!)? (laughs, as it does not seem to truly exist)

My latest purchase for the bargain price of £90, CMC McLaren SLR. I believe the RRP is around £155+

Bargin! 👍 Nice find.

There was a red road car, but it hasn't been produced in 1:18. I suppose it would be easy enough to buy a '98 car and paint it red, but it's beyond my talents. Same goes for the black car from GT4, which never actually existed - a '99 car sprayed black is all that's needed.

Heres my basement so far...we've moved some stuff, added stuff, and got more shelves...

And also the movie collection my dad is working on is there too.

And these are the new shelves.

oh yea..this is the are newest car we got

Oh, I see. Sorry, I didn't know the scale was 1:18!

Not a bad purchase at all Sting, but Ive seen them cheaper than your quoted RRP of 155. Over at modelissimo they going for EUR 169. (116 gbp)
-----------

Question:
I have the opportunity to buy
Exoto Jag XJR 9LM #1 131 gbp or #2 (the winner) 199gbp
Which one would you go for and why.

AMG.

I'm happy with mine, but I think they're a bit over-priced. I certainly don't think the winner is worth 200 quid.

Don't get either, unless you really love the Jag. I was gonna get the Castrol livery, but I heard the quality control was rubbish and the shutlines on the engine cover are atrocious. Me, I'd only now get one if I found one under £100

Thx daan & Sting, at least 2 persons are serious enough to give a straight answer. 👍

The quality control on Exoto XJR-9's is indeed horrid. I know first hand lol
I have a BRG colored test car version and it had numerous problems such as rough paint in places, poor fitting doors and engine cover, non spinning rear brake disks, and a few other issues. On the other hand my AA Mazda 787B, which is even more detailed, and also normally cheaper had very little wrong with it, plus it's details were amazing. Only models I have seen better were the top of the line Exoto's such as the Sauber C9 and CMC models, which are scary detailed.
Anyway my next diecast will most likely be a Kyosho dark metallic red Skyline R32 GT-R. Will be getting it for my b-day in a couple weeks :P

Nice purchase! I got one myself a few months ago. Very lovely model. I got mine for only 100 bucks, and it didn't come with a box. Still in perfect condition though. Enjoy the model, I always love looking at the SLR in my collection.

They're both nice models, however:

#1 - the #1 has incorrect livery with the hashmarks
#2 - the model does have QC problems, that doesn't mean if you get one you'll have that, but there's a fair amount of people I've seen complain about this
#3 - the model quality is not worth 131gbp, let alone 199gbp, especially with the QC problems.

But hey if you have the money go for it. But if you're gonna spend that much money, might as well only settle for the exact version you want, which for your sake I hope is the #2.

When I got my Exoto Villeneuve model, I ended up paying a large amount of money for it (over $300). At the time, I got a fair amount of unexpected money, but I made sure to only settle for the very specific version I wanted and in absolute mint condition, and that was the one with umbrella from Watkins Glen. I don't think in terms of model quality it was worth that much, but for me it was a big accomplishment of finally getting one after over a year hunting one down.

Like I said if you do have the money, only settle for the very specific one you want and in excellent condition. Personally I'm waiting for the #2 Jag to be re-released, if it ever will be.

The CMC SLR.... That is one of my holy grails of models. If I manage to get a decent enough job soon I will definitely have to get me one. Other models that I REALLY want, but are too expensive for me at the moment are the Minichamps Porsche Carrera GT in yellow, any Exoto Sauber C9, CMC Ferrari 250 SWB, and several future yet to be released models from Exoto and AutoArt Signature.

The next big model purchase for me will be a black BBR Enzo, but thats not gonna be for some times. lol

got this today :D

custom autoart evo 7 :D based on a car that normally shows up at trackdays at knockhill
