My best Kyosho models which are the M5 and the Jota SVR are better than any AA models I own with the exception of the AA 787B and the AA Lancer WRC05.

I would say that pretty much most modern Kyosho models (with the exception of a few that are older molds like the Ferrari 308 or 328) are as good as the best AA models such as 190E Evo or Lancia Fulvia Rally. The only exception would be the Mazda 787B by AA which is as good as most Exoto models.

I'm gonna whack a pre order in for the black lightweight F40 Kyosho methinks.

EDIT: having doubt, the CCX has been open for pre-orders for a year, how long could this F40L be?

I've never seen a Kyosho model in person. How do they stand up to AutoArt?

It depends. Older Kyoshos are almost always sub-par to most AutoArts. But many of the newer ones are on par, if not better than many AutoArts. The problem with a lot of Kyoshos though is that till only a year or two ago most all had plastic brake disks, while AutoArt was pimping photoetched metal ones. Also on many models AutoArt wins with wheels/brake detailing, and sometimes engine detailing too. But the AutoArt 787B basically pwnz all Kyoshos, and yes is indeed on par with many Exotos.

Quoted for truth.

As for Alex's question, the Koenigsegg CCX model is announced by AUTOart which is notorious for announcing models and taking long to release (or not releasing them at all) such as the Diablo 6.0, the Porsche 928, the Porsche 962.

Kyosho however releases most things it announces if not all.

Well, the Diablo 6.0 was announced then canceled, but on another forum rumor has it that it will be revived. Prototypes have been shown of the 928 (nearly complete) and the CCX (plastic mockup). No word on the 962 yet, but it supposed to be on par with the 787B in terms of detail. Most likely will have a $150 price too. AutoArt does tend to announce too many models, then take a long time to produce them. If I recall correctly it can take up to a year to develop a new 1/18 scale diecast model. I do know another thing AA does better than Kyosho and that is responding to emails quickly :P

I'm really glad to hear that about Kyosho. I'm also really glad to hear that about AA's 787B because I've been eyeing it up for months now, and every time I see it, I tell myself: No, save your money, don't be stupid.

Then I do do something stupid and get another model car.

Maybe a few pics of the 787B will persuade you :sly:

I bought two more 1:43s to add to my collection today.

One is a Toyota Supra RZ in Gun Metal Gray, the other is a Honda NSX Type R GT, which I've been wanting for awhile.

Both are made by Ebbro and are about as good as Kyosho (in my opinion)

Sorry about the picture quality, my phones camera isn't very good.

Well in search for a cheaper Ferrari Testarossa..I had to give in and buy an elite for $65 at the flea market (new in box)

Yes it is a great car, yes it is better than my current non-elite cars...but with my mini-growing diecast collection, I simply cannot afford anymore elite cars...this Ferrari was an exception because I love Ferrari and especially the Testarossa! :)

I ordered a few more and when I get them I will take a pic of my mini-collection :)

Oh! Bonus points to anyone who can tell me something that is a-miss on the car (it came that way, as if that's how the Testarossas were made...that it didn't break off the car)

Bought these yesterday:

SSC_0002-1.jpg

Minichamps 2001 BMW M3 GTR, £40
Spark 2005 Audi R8, £35

I've wanted that R8 for a while, but had never seen it for less than £50, which is nowhere near what it's worth as a model. Happy I've got it, but I still think it's a bit overpriced at £35; £25-30 would be more appropriate.

'Practical Performance car'

With a TVR on the front

M3 looks a good price 👍

Seat backs? But then, it is unlikely that those would fall off the car.

The chassis (exposed beneath the car's rear bumper) and the right-door alignment are off, is ever so slightly.

Hmm, I never did post my outside shots of my Minichamps Carrera GT. I guess I shall, along with pics of two other cars, a AutoArt Callaway C12 and a AutoArt Lamborghini Murcielago:

Ok guys need a little more help...out of my growing collection i like hot wheels 1:18 the best...theyre the best quality for the price, the real bang for your buck models.

Where would I go if I wanted to see the best listing of hot wheels 1:18 diecast cars offered?

if you think hot wheels 1:18 are the best real bang per buck then classic carlectables is gonna blow your head off:dopey:

seriously i would suggest having a look at a CC car they are unreal for the price (unless your buying and shipping from australia!)

From my experience the best brands under $100 are AutoArt, Kyosho, GMP, Minichamps, Ertl Authentics, and Highway 61. For models under $50 the best are some older AA's and Kyoshos, Maisto, Norev, SunStar, and Jadi. For the most part Hot Wheels are trash, even the Elites aren't that great. A $70 Elite is worse than a $60 AA. In fact, even some of the older $50 AA's are better than Elites.

Well with the hot wheels I own (F40 F50 Enzo 575M F430 Corvette C6 non-elite, and Testarossa elite) They are all solid sturdy good detail and definitely the bang for your buck

Next question...where could I find a Mclaren F1, not an Indy car, like the one with three seats? :)

Ya know...this one

Only 3 companies have made 1/18 McLarens, those being Maisto, UT Models, and Guiloy. The only ones that are good are UT's McLarens, and they are hard to find now. The Maisto and Guiloy's aren't as good. There is also a Minichamps 1/12 scale F1.
Maisto = Normal F1
UT Models = Normal F1, F1 LM, F1 GTR Short Tail, F1 GTR Long Tail
Guiloy = F1 GTR Short Tail

Ebay will be your best place to find the UT Mclaren F1 LM. But be prepared, some of them can fetch a very high price tag. I wouldn't jump on the first one you see because you might find a better deal than this one.
