Seems I am turning to GTP now for diecast help...growing hobby :)

Seems the only Lotus Esprit (the newer ones, like 2000+ models) models I can find are the expensive autoart ones for $65+...

Any cheaper around? :)

For your information:

#1 The only McLaren F1 LM you'll find is the one made by UT Models and it fetches a high price on ebay (much more than the model is really worth in terms of details). Guiloy I think makes a F1 LM too, but it's horribly inaccurate.

#2 The only Lotus Esprit model in 1:18 as far as I know is made by AUTOart, which means it will cost around $70 or so. It's a very good quality model.

I just ordered myself a 1/43 model. Don't worry though, I'm not going down a slippery slope, it is one of very few 1/43 models I plan to purchase in my lifetime (for the moment, I don't plan on purchasing any other ones unless very similar ones show up for a reasonable price).

Ferrari F310 Michael Schumacher - 1996 Spanish GP
1:43 IXO La Storia

It comes with stickers covering Marlboro logos on it apparently which has been recalled, but the store said they still have some in stock (the supposed recalled ones) so I bought one. If they make any other MS models with tobacco logo on them for a reasonable price, I'd be willing to buy them.

I put down a pre-order for the Kyosho 250 GTO last week as well. 👍

From what I understand, all announced Kyosho Ferrari's including the liveried 575 GTC's are going to be made.

Indeed.
Sadly though I won't be able to pre-order the 250GTO, due to the fact that I need more money and I want a Kyosho F40... :(

One thing I don't understand and still don't is why having Tabacco or Alcohol Livery on a scale model is such a big deal. Its not like the kid's gonna want to smoke or drink once they see it so I see no legitamate excuse.

My simple collection.

A very nice simple collection, mind 👍

My latest addition:

Mitsubishi Lancer WRC 2005, plain body version. The lanyard came free because the eBay shop I bought it from had a complete website failure and had to delay sending it to me.

Indeed, Nice buy Roo :)

I made a rather odd discovery today. I've been working at some place for about a year now, and it was only today that I found out literally 500 metres down the road from us is the gaint Biante warehouse, where the models actually come from  Jeez, I've been driving past it all this time... I must be utter blind or something.

It would be interesting to see what's inside. Might check it out tomorrow :sly:

I officially now hate you. :dopey:

Say guys, I just found out something interesting: after playing GT4, I found a Hot Wheels car I haven't seen for a while and upon closer inspection, I just found out I've had a Holden Monaro! All this time, I have been thinking "It would be nice if I had a 1/64 V8 Supercar" only to now relize I've had one the entire time:D

Some news for you fans of Diecast Collectibles:

Grand-Am Inks Three Year Agreement with Greenlight Collectables

Grand-am.com
Fans of the Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series presented by Crown Royal Cask No. 16 will have something extra to look forward to this season with the announcement that GreenLight Collectibles (GL) and Grand-Am have teamed up to produce die-cast replicas of select Rolex Series Riley Daytona Prototype machines. The die-cast replicas will go on sale in mid-2008.
The 1:64 die-cast replicas, which will measure approximately 3 inches in length, are officially licensed by Grand-Am and will feature a die-cast metal body and chassis, authentic Daytona Prototype detailing, real rubber tires, sequential numbering on the base and custom clamshell packaging.
Among the Daytona Prototype machines to be featured include the 2007 championship-winning No. 99 GAINSCO/Bob Stallings Racing machine and the familiar red, white, and blue of the No. 59 Brumos Porsche.

My new Kyosho F40 came and it is a excellent model, one of my favorites now.
Only crappy pics for now though, since it is raining...

Good eye. I was going for the look of the Tomei RB25 but gave up half way through. XD

Maybe I'll finish it eventually. The belt cover is untouched other than shaving off "RB26" from the front. The valve cover is a shaved and carved RB26DETT cover. The exhaust manifold is scratch-built from styrene and putty.

I suppose I should just call it an RB20DET, then.

@ Ten
That is one heck of a custom kitbash you got there. Looks awesome :)

@ Delirious?
Kyosho was the only company to make a normal bone stock 3rd gen RX7. Now the model is kinda rare, and thus goes for much higher prices than what it is worth. Back when I could still see them at online stores they usually ranged around $49-$59 USD. I really wish I got one back then...

Anyway I got some nice outside pics of my F40 yesterday during a break in the rain :)

Well after posting about a want ad for a 1:18 959 on the diecastxchange forum someone sent me one (w/shipping) for $100. Was it worth it? YES! Just look at this beautiful Exoto Motorbox Porsche 959...I still think most of all the beautiful cars ever made were from the 80s and 90s and this is proof
