An awful photo... Found the Need For Speed movie Mustang and Sesto Elemento from Maisto for 50% off. Definitely not worth the original asking price of $20.

Also found out that Five Below sells 1:43 Maisto's and Bburago... Does anyone know who makes a 1:43 scale BMW 1-series hatch? (1st gen) Saw one at a Rite Aid and was tempted by it, but didn't go for it. I really do like the 1-series hatch, but unsure of how much it'd be worth the quality. Possibly...Welly?

Ok this may be the wrong place to post this but my son told me that he wants to start building model cars with me. The thing is the two stores we have in town that sell model cars (Hobby Lobby and Michael's) charge around $30 per car plus another $20, at least, for the paints. Are there other places I can go to get model cars for not so much but are still good quality?

Thank you.

Been meaning to post here for a long time, these are just some of my favorites that I've collected over the years:

I have a fair amount of 1/18s but they're covered in dust at the moment...

So I heard that there was/is a 1/18
Hot Wheels Ferrari 360 Challenge Stradale in red with white stripes. Like this one, (holy cow 2004)! I was wondering if there was a place I could buy one in that color, but I can't seem to find a decent price. I also found out that there used to be a 1/18 Hot Wheels 288 GTO, like this, but it was discontiued. Does anyone have one or know why they stopped making them?

I got mine from the local Ferrari dealership ages ago. I know that at least my store has a lot of older models kicking around, maybe try them?

Thank you.

WalMart has started carrying models in my area.

Yes, I am talking about the plastic model car kits that you can paint. The ones made by Tamiya, Revell, and others.

I suspect you're better off googling e.g. Tamiya and find out if there are shops close by that have stock rather than asking GTP members for specific shops in your area. I doubt whether there are many of them in your area AND are also in to these cars to help you out. But that's just my humble opinion. :D

Folks in this thread may have a better answer for you as well on where online may be cheaper to buy kits from. In the past, I've typically looked on eBay, and there may be some deals to be had there.

So I got bored and unboxed all of my 1/43's...

Though, I'm probably gonna retake this pic soon, due to new models coming and wanting to do a better pic setup.
