Different coloured wheels, different lamp socket structure(?), white tape on the edge of the front lamp, different coloured bumper lights, drastically bigger rear tires(?), splitter strut is not black, tow ring shooting out where the rear right lamp is, yellow on the diffuser is totally a different colour, rear lamp has a 8-spoke star thing going on, rear end looks taller (comparing profile shots, could just be perspective).

Didn't bother to check, but there's probably a few different decals.

Some 1:1 pics for reference:

that first pic is not the same livery.

seems like the front lamp isn't supposed to have that thick of an "eyeliner" like our models.

Yea, they could have done better, given how much we have paid for these models. No wonder why some people just flat out hate resin model makers.

For me, I think my biggest issue with resin models, namely race cars, is the fact that they do not cut the decals when the cross over a body line. You see this on pretty much any resin model regardless of the price. They also should panel line major panels that open a lot, such as doors and engine covers. That would go a long way to improving realism.

I don't think that something like that headlight issue even relates to it being a resin casting. That may not be the point you're driving across, but should it be, that would be an absurd reason to dislike the entire population of resin models.

Look at that centre white stripe!

Better yet, look at the thinner white line beside it that's not even aligned!

That's $500 (CAD) quality apparently. I'm just going to keep crapping on BBR some more if I keep talking.

Haters are going to hate no matter what, my point is these resin makers regardless of their pricing, haven't pay enough attention to the smaller things and details, resin material related or not. That gives more legit reasons for those trolls to spread out their hate all over the web.

Traditional diecast makers have been guilty of this of late as well(and they are just as about as expensive), but we don't hear about these at all because they have opening parts.

See- This is why I don't like some communities that come together and brew in each other's distaste, because that just influences future prejudice behaviours (oops we're almost doing that right meow). But diecast people tend to be more like this due to their own lifestyle and personalities.

I want to defend that statement against Resins by using Ignition as an example, but none of my IGs have liveries

Once I get around to initiating some wall shelving unit project for these big cars, I'll re-examine all my resins and photograph the good and bad decal applications and then compare it with the diecasts. Then for the fun of it, I will throw it at DX and let them hurt each other over these big kid toys.

Probably don't need these at this time, but still ordered it.

Ordered from CK at 67EUR after shipping. Even if I get hit with customs, it would still cost less that grabbing the same amount from ToMo.

37.78 EUR / 6 = 6.2967 EUR per case = $9.33 CAD today right meow. They're 10% off marked prices. They have other 6-pack 1:18 case for the same price, but 4cm shorter in length.

ToMo sells each at roughly $21 CAD, after discounts.

I have 24 of these. The plastic base looks crap but you just can't find any alternatives that is cheaper.

Crap is okay. I have the Greenlight Indy500 one as well, which is nice for the strip of bricks, but in the interested of having a wall display some time in the future, I really don't care too much if the base looks good. I just want low-cost housing units

If it weren't for the flaired ends above the tail lights, I would've been in a huge dilemma between this and the AA Zonda Revo.

(yeah I said I wouldn't get the Revo, but I changed my mind)

Ok guys before wasting my money, I've found some interesting and cheap 1:20 figurines kits...the real question is...can those be compatible with my 1:18 models?
If someone can make a photo comparison will be great!
The variety of 1:18 figures is quite low actually, the only pit crews I know are from TSM in 1:18 scale.

Tamiya have long since sold pit crew and tools kits in 1/20 scale.

The difference between an average height male pit figure in 1/18 and 1/20 scale is about 10mm (9cm - 10cm) IMO they wouldn't look oversized stood with a 1/18 scale vehicle. 👍

Yep, there are 2 kits from Tamiya, I'm thinking about buying one and see how big they are, if it's fine then I'll buy some single resin figures. ;)
There's so much variety for the 1:20 scale...

Seems like the Autoart silver Toyota Altezza is considerably harder to find than the blue and yellow IS300s. One just popped up on eBay and now I'm tempted...but worried the price is going to be pretty high. :nervous:

Hah, I figured they were out of stock for good. Gives other folk a chance to get it, as it is a pretty good model, especially for that price. Only real complaint I have with it are the shock absorbers could have used actual metal springs instead of not very realistic looking plastic ones. Might replace them some day, since it doesn't look TOO hard to do...

The real one has 'em too.
I think they are quite a nice addition to the cars profile.

Anyways, I was looking at their 675 LT, but thr ride height up front looks a bit off:

A new model arrived today from GT Spirit, another 993 GT2, making it my 5th one. Anyways, I don't normally care about the numbered plaque, but this one was 300/300! Pretty neat. Forgive the poor quality pics, once I get fully moved into my new place I want to get better pictures.

Somehow my local Toys R Us had the Jada 1/24 JDM Tuners on their shelves, despite Toys R Us making a statement that they wouldn't be released until July 19th. Even the employees said it wasn't for sale, but sold it to me anyways.

Got pretty low expectations, though I wish some other company would make an FT-1 model.

The last 1/43 Norev I got was a Dodge Viper SRT-10 and it was a pretty bad model. The rear was too square, and the headlights had awful residue inside them. Though to be fair, that model is quite old. I remember seeing them available as long as eight years ago, and I'm sure it wasn't new then either. But the two 1/18s I have from Norev (Mercedes SLS and BMW M1) are really good, so I thought maybe that Viper was one bad apple. So I bought their new 1/43 Alpine Celebration concept from Le Mans a few years back, and I must say. I'm impressed!

My crappy camera isn't good enough to show it. The prints on it are very clear, even the tiny ones on the side skirts are perfect. I'd recommend this over the Spark version because it's cheaper; the proportions are far more accurate; and the paint looks fantastic. The camera lets it down a bit.

It was also a quick delivery. I bought a CD recently from Europe, and it took one and a half months to get here. This Alpine took seven days to get here from France! France is about as opposite you can get to NZ.
