I've been toying with picking up the red release (as a red R33 with painted lip on gold BBS's is somewhat of a dream combo of mine), however in all the shots I've seen, it looks like the mould has some issues as the shape of the headlights look different compared to the white and purple releases. Do IG have a habit of modifying moulds after an initial release?

Also for everyone saying they're great quality, in the images I've seen there seems to be little issues like wonky badges, light lenses not sat right and excess glue marks or white resin showing through.

If they were closer to OTTO's pricing (£70-£100) I'd take a punt but at £200-£250, I'd hate to spend that sort of money to be disappointed.

Good observations. I have noted with some of their more recent releases, tail lights are installed at the wrong angle. Quite a disappointment considering a resin's key selling factor is entirely on the front-facing features. Ya can't afford to goof up on this (but they probably can due to their growing popularity now).

And yes, they have been getting a bit sloppy on hot glue strings being left behind. I cleaned up a few strings on the purple Skyline (even had to shop them out).

I like the red with the black wheels more (see above), and it's more than likely going to retain higher value (especially if all the other owner misplace the figurine).

As per the headlights being different; I'm not seeing it. Sorry. I did consider maybe the red+BBS was like the red+NISMO wheels, because as I scroll up, I notice this Limited Edition one doesn't have the NA1 ducts on the bumper. That isn't the case though. Which photos were you looking at? I recall IG finishing the prototype of the red one and having that at a diecast show/con long before releasing official photos of the white and purple.

Looking at the pics here: https://cars79.com/collections/igni...r-33-late-customize-version-by-ignition-model

And comparing them to the white and purple releases the headlights look different, like the tops are somehow flatter. I've also compared some of the other shots from people on Twitter and Instagram and they all appear to be the same. Also note the grille badge not being installed on its base properly.

Still need a few to complete the collection but since I pretty much got all three special Lizards (one in 1:18) I don't bother too much..

And a rather unusual buy to my standards, model planes. Thought it would be cool to have the planes I flew to Australia with earlier this year. Then I searched for something I could display them in and well, one thing let to another.. :P

I've got one I'm looking to clear out of the inventory if you're interested. Vita Lemon Tea livery. I'm running out of storage space.

Which scale? They look like 1:200. BTW, you have no idea what you're getting yourself into:lol:
These are just SOME of the models I own:

When life brings you down, and you can't see any possible way out... Buy model cars which will do nothing but look cool and make you question your spending behaviours. :P This time two Spark models.

So glad I bought this one, as I often forget just how much I like the Sauber C9 since Gran Turismo 4.

And my appreciation for the Cunningham was born from Hot Wheels, because no one should grow up without Hot Wheels defining their early years

Thanks but I have to pass. I need some more Le Mans stuff.

@CLowndes888  Nice! I really need to watch out or I might end up like you. I see you have some sort of airfield tarmac? And that awacs, I think I’ve seen it flying some time ago when I was in England, Mildenhal. Probably not that exact number but looks pretty close.

Mine are 1:400, already pretty big.

I collected a few 1:400 models but I fell out of love with them a few years ago. They've all been sold off, as I'm better off sticking to the same scale. Not to mention that prices have skyrocketed in recent times. Yet this also rings true for the 1:500 scale stuff, hence why I don't buy them often anymore. Collecting 1:64 scale cars is much more economic.

Oh have they? When I was looking for the models I thought they were quite reasonable in price.. I might be already going wrong here  I thought 30/40 euros for 1:400 was okay. They’re pretty detailed, even the main landing gears angle, didn’t expect that.

Collecting and economic in one sentence, hmmm :P

This one will be coming around Chrismas to me. Verstappen 2018 1/18
I have over 80 F1 models in 1/18. From early 1970 to todays hybrid cars

I have added a couple of 17 cars this year(never took pics of them since I have been busy with my newborn son), don't have any plans with the 18 cars, I can't stand the halo.

Mind you, 30 to 40 euros is like $47 to $63 here in Australia. Buying from overseas is expensive for us Australians, as the exchange rate is usually pathetic. It's ok for you but for me, it's a lot of money to pay for just one model. And we haven't even got to postage yet... 1:500 scale models aren't much cheaper. In the past I could pick up a 1:500 scale QANTAS 747-400 for around about $38; my QANTAS 747 SP cost about $62... And that was purchased in Australia at the Avalon Airshow! Need I say any more?

I also cant stand the halo, but i got used to it. (remove it from model, but something will then not be right, cuz they didnt drive without it.) No one is talking about it like year ago. They put ugly wings in 2009 we buyed models, c..k noses in 2014 we buyed models. And now halo..
I have the ferrari and red bull form 2018, waiting for mercedes..

Yea we will get used to the new look as they don't plan to remove the halo anytime soon. I just hope they will find ways to improve the overall design of the car just like what they did to the 2019 Formula E cars.

GT Spirit's got this thing:

So I was curious to know what the hell "KHYZYL SALEEM HURATACH" meant. Looked it up: Khyzul Saleem is a concept artist who is employed by EA/Ghost Games.

This is the original render:

Although some features were altered in the prototype model by GT Spirit, it is hella cool to see a fictional design make its way to being a 3D model.

Two new arrivals to my 1:43 collection:
2006 VW Iroc Concept (the prototype of Scirocco):

This one is a gift for my recent birthday.

And this is the one I bought myself...
1984 ATs-40 (131) mod. 137A (Fire Station 25, Nizhniy Novgorod)
A Russian firetruck based on the ZiL-131 6x6 truck.

I'll add license plates and take some better photos (with other fire engines I have) later.

AA seemed to love to put these giant screws on the wings on many of their exotics. I'm not a fan of that. Other than that this is probably their best effort on a half sealed composite model. (Although from what I saw, there is definitely no engine details whatsoever inside the engine cover.)

Took a 144 mile drive out to a model shop a couple states away.
That is quite the journey! Where is this model shop, is it anywhere close to CT?

My recent additions, all 1/18 scale: Porsche 2.7 Carrera RS from Welly, 993 Carrera RS Clubsport from GT Spirit, 996 GT3 RS from Autoart, 997.2 GT3 RS 3.8 from Autoart, and a 997.2 GT3 RS 4.0 from Autoart. All of these are alternate colors to models I already have.

It's Pete's Model Garage in Lakeville, Massachusetts. I still find joy in browsing inventory in person, so I don't mind the drive down there to go through his store. It is mostly 1/43 scale stuff, but he does carry 1/64 and 1/18 cars too. The prices are actually pretty good compared to shopping online. Unfortunately I've been hearing rumors that his store may be closed next year so that's what made me want to take a drive down. Though sounds like he may be open for January 2019 at least.

Thanks for the info. Looks to be over in south east part of Mass. Not too far from me on paper, but no direct route puts it a good 2 hour drive away still. Not terrible, I might take a trip out if I can. Hopefully it stays open, I don't know of any other physical model shops around. I don't collect 1/43 but I wouldn't mind grabbing a few.

I found it worth it to just have a look around. He has a back room that's open for people to check out and he gets some interesting 1/18s out of box. Last year he had an AutoArt Super GT NSX that I wish I had gone down to pick up from him. But never got the chance. He does also sell GT Spirit and TopSpeed 1/18 models too. My brother picked up a TopSpeed McLaren 570S for $85 from him.

The Venturi Atlantique ay? What made you get that? It's a rather niche machine next to other supercars of the period.
