I know partaking in this hobby is going to leave me further in the hole (and I have enough money sinking hobbies as is) but for my own research purposes:

What would be the best site to order scale models that won't leave me absolutely hosed for shipping rates? (That, or preferably, a Canadian based site, but beggars can't be choosers)
Toronto Motorsports is a good one https://tomotorsports.com

Not sure what various US based sites I use charge for shipping to Canada though.

Shows my ignorance that I only know TO Motorsports for their stickers and their support of Marshall Pruett and Robin Miller on RACER.

I guess I could take a look - float me some of your favorites and I'll see.
Some of my favorite US sites:

And a couple Euro ones as well:

Has anyone purchased models from either livecarmodel or carmodelfactory? Been wanting to buy a 1st gen Suzuki SX4 model for my brother, but had little luck with eBay. Found both red and blue on both sites, but for some reason the listings on livecarmodel has red for $80 more than blue. (Looks to be different vendors on livecarmodel) $107 for blue and $187 for red.

carmodelfactory has both for $92, but I haven't heard of them like livecarmodel. Of course neither show shipping prices until checkout, but the $92 price is tempting.

Never have, but if the price looks too good to be true, just make sure that you're paying by Paypal at the very least. And if the name "Exoto" or "Tony K" come up at any point during the transaction, back the hell out of that.

Remember that scammy site diecastenvy.com story I shared with you all 4 years ago? https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/threads/gtplanet-scale-model-thread.29704/post-12303025

Simple question: How do you clean your scale models? How do you get rid of the dust without cleaning them for hours every few weeks?
I used to very carefully use a cloth and compressed air dusters to clean them, but it was very tedious.

Nowadays I just leave all my models in their box until I can find a way to display them all without worrying about dust at all. :guilty:

Went on quite the spending spree the last two weeks. My brother and his co-worker went out (without me) to the diecast stores a few states away while I was working. Had to learn about the hobby store offerings over the phone, but then got a chance to go myself last weekend. Picked up quite a few 1/18s.

Autoart stuff:
Corvette C5.R
Cadillac CTSV.R
Toyota Trophy Truck (1998 Ivan Stewart)

4 Maisto CLK-GTRs (One road car)

UT Model:
911 GT1 (996 Mobil, 993 Mobil, and no livery 993)
McLaren F1 Longtail
McLaren F1 GTR

Also got two 1/43s and a 1/24. Ebbro Eunos Roadster (comes with both soft top and hard top), Corgi Rover SD1, and Jada Lexus IS300. (I pretty much buy any model I find of the IS300)

For an older casting, it's not bad. This is another exclusive model which had a limited run and couldn't be purchased from Herpa directly.
I have a confession to make: I actually got this model for free...

This aircraft was taking a very long time to get to me (even though it was sent from another state in Australia) and I asked the seller what was going on. They couldn't explain what had happened, so they assumed that it was lost and I got a refund. A few days later I got the model and was immediately presented with a moral dilemma. Do I tell the seller that it arrived and pay them, or do I remain silent? I decided to remain silent. If the seller does see this, I'm sorry and I will pay you.

Grabbed the 1/18 Hot Wheels 911 996 GT3 for $10 and the 1/43 Nissan Primera for $5. Always fun finding deals at flea markets, although some seem a bit expensive. Was kind of tempted to buy a 1/24 Brookfield Dodge Intrepid and/or 1/24 Chrysler Concorde model.

That GT3 looks darn good for $10. Certainly a good option if you don't want to spend a fortune on the Autoart version, nice buy.

First new model for myself in a while:

Can't wait for the detail shots. Am excited to know if IG has been keeping it up after all these years. Is the unboxing process still as tedious as before?

Who makes the Yugo?

I'm from Croatia and I bought Yugo and some other Zastava models (maybe I find them) like 6-7 years ago and it was selling together with some domestic auto magazine. If you ask me exactly manufacturer, I don't know, it just says "made in China" lol.. But they are not badly made, this Yugo is thrashed a little bit because I find it yesterday on the bottom of the box full of stuff

Downsizing to 43rd, we are?

The flat grey looks great despite the monochromatic nature of it

Actually been collecting 1/43's for around 14 years now lol
I just tend to not buy as many as I do 1/18.
I really need to take some pictures of these most recent additions though.
Also the FD is white, but then crappy pic...
