General Information and Regulations

All rules, regulations, car specifications, and races are controlled by GTPLMS sanctioning body, GTMSA. Any and all questions should be directed to GTMSA officials (ABud or oldmodelt) and officials will do their best to answer in a timely and accurate manner.

All drivers must run at the specified weights and horsepower settings provided by GTMSA for each round. Horsepower and/or weight settings are adjusted for competitive reasons each round based on finishing positions from previous rounds.

IMPORTANT
For this season the track is defined as the area between the parallel white/yellow lines (see image below). This means that rumble strips no longer count as track.

  • Standard Online Racing Rules Apply.
  • No Cheating, hybrids, etc. You must run the car specifications I give you
  • Try keeping at least 2 wheels on course. Long races = small mishaps, but absolutely NO shortcuts
  • No wall-riding as well. Combined with penalties, this will slow you down considerably, so don't do it.
  • All decisions by GTMSA officials are final

LMP run done. Safe and stable. On to the GT1 tonight. "oldmodelt relishes the thought of Austin343 checking his computer on the 27th." If this can happen maybe even the Cubs can win!

edit: GT1 run done too. Only a couple of small offs. Hardest part of this track is turn 2 coming out of the pits. You have no speed so it's tougher to make this car turn. Especially the R390GT1 which tends to understeer.

I have my GTS run done and am quite happy. I had a couple of spins but no contact. It took a while to get this track worked out. The AI seem to be quicker here also.

this competion needs an online conection?

It does not. You run the race parameters from the thread above and then submit your time to ABud in a pm before the deadline.

Pick a car and class. You should not have any wt penalties because you haven't run before, I think? But you will get a 20 sec penalty for not submitting a hotlap time for last week. But jump in for the last race of the series. Times awasting. Deadline is Sun. Here are the cars. https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=126339 If you like the format join the CTC series https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=129250 and then the SuperGT later this year.

Thanks for the reply oldmodelt. I'm working away from home this weekend so may not be able to answer questions very quickly.

It took me a while to understand some of what makes up the rules and procedures for these events. If you have any questions at all, feel free to ask without the risk of being "flamed" by other users.

This was the last event of the series. There are other new series coming up so stay tuned!

G'Day all.

Times submitted.
Not my best Race, although I did enjoy most of it and ended up winning handily too 👍
Too many pitstops and 3 dtp's did for me :grumpy:
Two dtp's caused by AI running up my backside and pushing me off track. The other I clipped the end of that tyre wall on the inside of Turn 8a.
Oh well.

Good luck to all.
Congratulations to ABud for running a very nifty comp. Thank you 👍

See y'all at the next one :)

Wow, that was a great final round. I think the LMP cars, at this track epitomize open class auto racing. Thanks to Abud, OldmodelT and the other car testers, GTPlanet and all you racers for a great series

*edit*

Hey, I just realized with super GT next, that this concludes my first full season of GTP racing! So lets add GREAT SEASON!

👍

Times submitted. Both races were good and fast.

I was able to lap the entire field in the GTS race. Only a couple of crazy AI drivers to get in my way, and they did not put up much of a fight. I had one incident where I hit the first cone at the entrance to the pit. I was drafting behind the Nissan GTR Concept Race Car and the Nissan went into the pits, so I was too far over to the left, and had to make a quick steering adjustment to avoid hitting all the cones.

Now the GT1 race was tough. Once again I had to run against a mighty strong Mazda 787B. In the end I was able to eek out a very close win. The rest of the field was of no racing consequence, but the Toyota 7 keep going off into the sand and coming back on the track just in front of me (middle of turn 6). I think I had to abort 5 races due to AI contact or spin-outs from trying to avoid the wayward AI (usually the Toyota 7).

Great racing with everyone,
GTsail

Submitted my LMP time.

I was quite suprized to get pole position in the qualify as I know I left easily 0.5 seconds on the track.
And when compared to Austin343 it can be seen clearly too.

I ran most of the races this season , but didn't finish them in time to be able to submit before deadline. :banghead:
On the other hand I ran every qualifier and got poleposition in 4/7 events :sly:

Big 👍 to Abud and east for taking the other 3 pole positions.

And thanks Abud for posting and hosting this series!

I've just got back from London today so sadly no race time from me:guilty: Just compiling the results so should be up fairly soon:tup:

edit:

Results done. Wow, what a great season! All three classes were really close fought to the death. Congrats to Me (:sly:), Austin343 and Fogbound for winning the three classes  The GT1 class was so close infact it was decided by race wins (4 to 2 in Austin343s favour).

Well done to all the participants in the series, been great racing. 👍

Rather addicting, isn't it.

Yes, I really enjoy racing and am thankful that this venue exists. I am also exited with my performance and in awe of my competitors each week with their respective performances. This is my first championship win in 30 years of "weekend warrior" racing so I am on cloud 9 today!
👍

So what was the tie-breaker in GT1, Austin343 having more wins?

This is an 8 race series right? That way I can carry my first wt penalty in the GT1 class. :dunce:

Good racing everyone.

Great racing everyone!

Congratulations to the Class Winners: ABud, Austin343 and Fogbound!!

I lost on the tiebreak?:ill:

GTsail goes in search of more favorable tiebreaks:

Let's see...
Car numbers: 39 vrs 45, Austin wins again
Lowest total elapsed time from all races: 293.67 mins vrs 386.77 mins, Austin wins again
Average race finish: 1.4 vrs 1.7, Austin wins again
Sum of digits in GTPusername: 3+4+3=10 vrs 2+9=11, Austin wins again
GTPusername alphabetically: Austin vrs GTsail, Austin wins again

This is not looking good...

I've got it... State name alphabetically: Massachusetts vrs New Mexico, GTsail wins! YEAH!

Seriously fun racing everyone, see you in the next race series.

 good one GTSail290, it's tough to lose by tie break you're right! See you all in the next one, i'm going to have a little break now before launching an entirely new race concept, just got to get the idea sorted in my head. Watch this space...

Congratulations to ABud and fogbound for their championships. 👍 And thanks to everyone for making this an enjoyable and competitive series. :) I feel kind of embarrassed to have won - on a tiebreak, no less - without having even started two of the races. :guilty: But the Panoz was fast, even if it did eat tires, and that made my job easy.

There probably won't be another GT4 GTPLMS, but if there is, I'd like to suggest including the Gillet Vertigo in GT1. I believe that it's slow enough, especially if detuned, and it would definitely be a laugh, even if I'm the only one who would choose it.

Great sportsmanship is the essence of competition. I think this series has been a success.

I would find the time to race in a season, if only to drive the Vertigo :P

Good work to all the champions, I've watched from the sidelines, hope that there is at least one more GTPLMS season (or alternately a well run Touring Car/ JGTC (maybe) season).
