Just curious…how is my Mini so far.

Good, but didn't win. I'll post results maybe next week.

The car felt a bit too "gentle" for me. But nonetheless, great car, and unique chioce!

EDIT: For those that missed the opportunity to enter, there's always Touge 280. Which will be coming up next week. :D

Anyway, more details on the episode. During the testing, I'll only provide pics. (To save space. lol)

But for the final showdown, video, of course. I'll need a camera car behind us, though. Who wants in? lol

EDIT: SolidSnake! Where are you!!??

I'm posting my tune today, been busy doing other random stuff.

Cool, I guess the flat torque and trying to keep it neutral may have killed it. There is always next time...
Can't wait to see how it turned out for the rest.

Yeah, it was epic! Onboy was our camera man. lol

I'll still be testing your car. ;)

Need me to tailgate act as the camera car for you?

@Snake, telling you now would defeat the point of building suspense. But the challenger did win. Or rather, it should have. My view of it was absolute.

So you're telling me that after all the testing, only one will be chosen to run against the touge monster? I thought there were gonna be knockout runs between the top contenders.

...or did i miss a detail?

I think I get the reference (Initial D?) to the name…but just…why? He was such an ass, why name your car after him?!

Well, reasons are:

1. It was quite predictable with oversteer
2. Controllable oversteer
3. Feels nicely balanced
4. It's a nice street car

And I could have lost.

I would have picked the X4, but it requires a lot of aggresiveness. Especially having no low-end torque, it sucked at standing starts.
Aw you were just scared that if a better driver than the Ol'Wallbanger here got behind the wheel, he'd smoke ya!:lol:

Just joking, sounds like you enjoyed the "Wicked Child" despite it's shortcomings. Looking forward to seeing your reviews of all the entries.👍👍

@Onboy think I should have entered yet another version of my "Pocket Monster"? It would have had more torque and all...

Probably, but the deadline was today, right? :sly:
I was going to post it yesterday but I ended up walking home with my friend after school and didn't get home until about 12, and I was just too beat to bother.

Actually, there were quite a few reasons:

1. It was quite hard to keep the revs high, especially through the first set of hairpins. Man that High RPM Turbo really did it's job.
2. It required a lot of aggressiveness.
That is all. lol Great car though! Unexpected too!

Whatever. lol

I'll just check the replays for absolute results.

Well, it was suppose to go that way, but Onboy's car was probably the best in terms of feel. (In my opinion.)

But it could happen in Touge 280.

The stock X4 has a 713cc turbo engine and doesn't start making what little power it has before about 4,000rpm. The low rpm doesn't give enough boost in either hp or torque to make using it a good option, especially since you still need to be up to about 4,500 rpm to get the power and you get a bad power curve. The mid rpm turbo does produce slightly more torque, but again not before you pass 4,500rpm and with its more peaky power curve I didn't think trading 7HP for 6ft-lb of torque was a good option. Bottom line is the very small motor means the car has to rev very high to make its power and will always be at a disadvantage in torque compared to larger displacement engines. All things considered I'm very happy with the outcome and never expected to win this round. Was more interested in building a fun and different car than trying to win.:lol:

As I said earlier the variety of different cars for this first round was great. Hopefully the 280hp class will be just as diverse.👍👍

3.0 of course. I'm just asking this because of the Elise 200 hp. Just ask if NSX are OK ?

I don't see why not.. it does have it's inherent flaws in being tail-happy and bad brakes. And it only has a 5-speed. But it isn't super lightweight like the Autobacs or Lotuses.

Mat, you should rename the 280(276ps) class to 300 since they used 300 in the start of round 2.
