In the Touge200 class, you would rarely see sedans. In the show i think the largest car entered in that class was an Altezza. Sometimes they would enter Kei cars in that class too but with less than 200hp to keep it stable.

And basically your car must be fun, exciting and not too much of a handful to make be picked for the final showdown. then once you make it to the final showdown, they are usually pit against each other and the remaining car takes on the touge monster... that's how the show is run.

Right up here^

EDIT: New time with my 86!

Online: 1:02.426
You keep posting online times. Do the cars need to be tuned for online? Will make a serious difference in the final tunes if they need to be for online use vs. offline thrashing.

I use online for maximum assurance that my car will do well in the final battles. Although it's up to you guys on where to tune your cars.

The physics online slightly differ from offline.

The physics difference is why it's important to know where you'll be testing the cars and eventually racing them. A car tuned for online will generally perform okay offline, but a car tuned for maximum offline performance rarely does well online.

note: best time with second car down to a 0:58.844 offline. Not bad for a car built in 1980 though it's still an axe murderer if you don't watch out.

1980's huh? Is it Japanese?

I've noticed that with each update, PD balances the online and offline performance closer and closer.

That's cool. But I've noticed that last week, (before I tuned my 86) offline, the 86 was beast! Once I got online, I managed to spin out twice. lol

Online: My Hachi-Roku has a lot of oversteer. :P

Try running a GT Wing? :P The Hachi Roku in the game feels kind of funny when I played GT5 especially the Shigeno Version. Now, in my opinion. If people are going to run Tuner cars like Amuse, Amemiya and etc, they should probably keep everything like it was but they can tune the suspension, LSD and etc(Keeping Power stock & weight stock). The car I could say that is a Tuned-Tuner that can do anything is the Amuse Street Version. I don't know how I could explain it but..ugh, never mind D:

Nope its not Japanese. A test drive by another tuner agreed with my assessment of the car though, very quick and lots of fun, but its massive oversteer makes it an axe murderer and not really well suited to the touge.

The SS version is trash. Not sure what PD did wrong with it but the originals properly tuned will outperform it at any given PP pretty much.

I agree on your point. Oh, about my Hachi Roku. I'm already running a wing. :sly: It runs nicely now! :dopey:

Hmph. My Hachi Roku beats the SS version by a LONG shot! :sly:

Alright, good luck to you! Deadline of tunes is this upcoming Saturday (27th). Just send the tune via Private Message. Thanks!

Have decided to skip my beloved classics and go with a more modern JDM car. That being said I doubt its on anyone else's radar as it is rather an unassuming oddball unless you know a bit about the car and its history.:sly:
Currently best time is a 0:57.844 offline and I think I can shave a bit more off that. Probably won't end up being the fastest car but hopefully will score a few points on being fun, easy to drive and different.:)

In case anyone is curious about the other two cars I tested, the first was the original rotary engine sports car (no not an RX-7) and the second was an MR built by French lunatics for rally racing. They were both fun but probably to much of a handful on the touge.

I'm afraid to say that, that car is prohibited. It's got more than 200 HP. Sorry. You could enter it for the "Touge 280 Class", but you're gonna have to wait long. Right now, the main focus is the "Touge 200 Class"

Also, the use of ballast is too much. Check out the first page for the rules.

The Cosmo and Renault 5? Interesting choices. At first I thought you were talking about one of the Alpines and just didn't realize that they're RR and my second guess was the Clio but that made no sense because it's no rally car. Then I remembered that crazy little 5. I need to take a stock one one on the Nurb soon I think.

@GTTurtle right in both cases.:D
Have done several tunes for the Cosmos including one that won the 386PP Classic car Shootout at Eiger short. That was the base tune I started with for this.

The 5 Maxi Turbo is a real piece of insanity. I've never quite managed a tune for it I'm happy with. The one I was testing for this is about as close as I've come, probably due to the combination of low power and PD's latest update which seems to have made it a hair less squirlly than before. Still a total handful that will have the rear end crushing your face if you make the slightest mistake or push it to hard.

The test cars for both those, and the car I will be entering are all on share currently if anyone is interested. Just keep in mind those are working test tunes and not the finalized tune for any of the three.

The online physics are starting to take its toll on me. :ouch: I've spun my 86 countless of times on the final corner before the tunnel. :ouch:

I'm thinking about replacing it for another car ;), for the sake of not breaking my controller in half.

Need some tuning advice or something?

Nah, it's alright. Thanks though. :)

I already have my car set up.

It's 3 seconds faster than my Hachi Roku. :mischievous:

Anyway, is anyone here atleast half way done with their entry?

What the hell. 0.3 seconds I can accept, but 3 whole seconds? Since it can't be made up by an increase in power, it's either:
1. Really, very very light (the 86 weighed…what, 800kg?)
2. A 4WD/FF
3. Got more torque than god to haul it out of the corners

Eh, mine is sort of done (ask Snake, he saw it), but I'm so pissed that the close-ratios 'box made the car better, so I'm not PM'ing anything until I can beat the pre-set ratios PD gave me, using a F/C 'box.

By the way, if I made 6th completely useless and redundant, could I get away with using it?

Sure, lol.

Anyway, my new car has 190HP, and weighs just 930KG.

It's a midship, it grips the inside line tightly, 6-speed transmission, and accelerates like a bat outta hell!

It's a Toyota. :P

EDIT: Whoops! Wrong calculation! It's only 2 seconds faster!... As of now. It's still in it's 1st stage of tuning. :mischievous:

Hey Onboy, if you get a chance check out the black car I have on share and tell me what you think of my "Wicked Child".:D

You're better off sending a dupe of it to me since it means not-very-much to perform an offline test. :P Judging by the name…it's the R5 Turbo, no?
