Honestly the best racing game I've ever played. I doubt Gran Turismo will even come close. This is a simulation... Gran Turismo feels like an arcade game now.

Everything feels so real... It sounds real as well. Downshifting makes the exhaust burble and the transmission whine, turning too much results in the tires scrubbing. You can feel the acceleration, in the way that the camera moves on the inside of the car. You go over bumps and your "head" shakes and bounces. The force feedback on the DFP is amazing as well. You can feel the car shaking at idle, and you know when you've locked up a tire.

The difficulty is great, especially when comparing it to Gran Turismo. Qualifying times are always very close to yours, or much higher, and races aren't at all easy. The tuning is far more comprehensive than Gran Turismo as well, and the gear tuning is far more realistic. No more .001 changes to a gear, it's not possible.

I wish I could do this game justice with words, but I can't. Just download the demo and see it for yourself. Then realise that the full game is 10x better than it and you're close to seeing how good the game is.

even though I agree

GTR has the physics down, it's amazing. Graphics are good, car selection is ok, the number of cars allowed on a track at once is amazing also..

GTR is an awesome game,no doubt about it.But it is not better than GT4.GTR has very life like physics and godlike sounds.Those two things are better in GTR.But look at GT4.It has over 700 cars and it looks better than GTR(even though GTR looks a lot sharper).There are way more tracks in GT4,plus the overall experience is much more enjoyable.Mind you,i have the full German version of GTR and it is awesome.
To sum it all up:
GTR:
Awesome physics
Awesome sounds
Cockpit view is brilliant(especially with TrackIR)
Online racing with 54 cars at once

GT4:
Way more cars(wich make the game appeal to a broader audience)
Way more tracks
It is not a hardcore Simulation(wich also appeals to a broader audience)

Don't get me wrong,i love GTR,and i admit it's an awesome game but it's not as enjoyable as GT4 wich eventually counts the most.

You will be able to add more tracks into GTR.

GTR is a great sim indeed, superb sound and force feedback. but forget 54 people online racing at once except maybe via lan. over internet you will get a much better experience in LFS, even if there are only 16 drivers at once...
 
watching some of the footage on the offical I was blown away :drool: It has everything I wish in GT4 (more cars on track, Ferrari, Porsche, Damage, Cockpit and more) Need to flip a coin to see what I will play for the day this summer. GT4 or GTR? GT4 or GTR? 💡
 
Get GTR. It's really worth it. If you've got a wheel and a decent PC you owe to it yourself if you are a simracing fan.
 
if the english version were made.. i would have it. but since not i'll just be waiting for it, like im waiting for gt4 :indiff:
 
just buy it from Germeny (toke about a week from Amozon.de for me )and download GTR Manager from http://www.adonf-fr.com/ undate GTR and get English translation pack 1.4 and the english pit radio patch and it works spot on 👍

ohh GTR Uk released on February 25, 2005 :dopey:
 
I have the german version. Everything about the game is fantastic from the sounds, to the graphics, (Radeon X800PRO) the controls/feedback. I find it to be a difficult game though.

IMO nothing comes close to Gran Turismo 3/4, except maybe Forza Motorsport..
 
Do I think Gran Turismo 3 is better than GTR? Hell YES. In terms of playability, I was bored with GTR in about an hour. I have been playing GT3 off-and-on since the day it was released.

I've also been around since the days when SimBin was making this game in a mod package for EA's F1. Great game, but it's the same thing over and over and over again. For some people that's appealing, to me it's not anymore.

Forza not close to GT3/GT4? Ha! I guess you haven't seen the videos... I HATE the xbox, but after seeing a half dozen videos, 100+ pictures, and the list of cars for Forza, I think I'm going to buy one.

Enthusia looks good. I'm watching in-game footage from E3 right now :)
 
Yeah, enthusia is looking like it will be a mustbuy. 👍 I agree the gt games have all been made extremely well. I thought the multiplayer was supposed to be really good for GTr. Usually, multiplayer is really important to the vitality of racing sims on the PC.
 
i played the demo a while ago. i about soiled myself <8- P another great game is GPL2004 or something. i think its availiable at blackholemotorsports.com or something. i remember the first time i blew my engine in GTR. lol mishift from high 5th into 4th <8- P and then i saw the fire come up in front of me. i really want a full shifter for pc games like that.
 
Computer games will always be better then console games

GT4 and enthusia are great but the problem is the PS2 gets/is already a day older.

When GT4 would be on PC then you yould game it like the quality from the photomode.
 
I've been trying to play the demo recently but I just suck at it. Maybe its cuz I'm using a keyboard. Is there any way to be good with the keyboard? I couldnt turn in a good lap even if my life depended on it. :lol:
 
I've tried the demo, and is it just me, a crappy setup, or do the cars have some serious understeer issues? And who else here hates how they gave us the Lister and the Morgan as the demo cars? A game full of excellent cars and we get stiffed with the two worst cars in the game... :lol:
 
There's a new demo out of GTR, with Spa at dusk, the Ferrari 360 and the Saleen S7. :D It contains all playing modes from arcade to sim, and it's now somewhat playable with the keyboard. (still 200% better with the wheel though). There are also good setup presets for both car.

I think that I have waited long enough for a computer based driving simulator that is better than Nascar series and Need For Speed series.. It was about time someone developed something new for our computer sytems. Where you can have better graphics than most game boxes.

I've been flying the most realistic simulation of Millitary Jets there is on the market. Flying with lots of people from around the world while talking to them has been an old thing for me. Long before game boxes came out with internet connections I had been enjoying it for a while. Sorry I got side tracked..


Anyway, It's about time someone gave us a new simulation for our PC's. I wish that GT4 would also come out for Pc gaming..That would be kool, and the graphics would be twise as crisp and better...

Sorry Louie, but Enthusia professional racing is a PS2 sim
NOT a computer sim, unless you call your PS2 a computer (and that is confusing)
 
Hey all, I just picked up the DFP wheel and found the demo for GTR yesterday and am just blown away by it. will it be available in the US? and if not are there UK sites that will sell and ship to the US?
