Should a turbo be installed from round 2 onwards?

Anyone got an idea of a target time for Motegi? Shaking down the car now, trying to dial out as much of this understeer as possible. It's a completely different animal to the CR-Z.
 
26's was pretty doable with the low rpm turbo, but with very fast tire wear, I could only manage consistent 27's. The lap 6-8 window is just right for tire life.

I don't think creeping into the 27's will be a massive ask for some.

I was 28's without the oil change, running at ~325bhp... so not sure how much difference there will be with the better power and torque that comes with oil changing.

28.1 I believe was my best in the lobby, but then tyre went. Pretty sure Filo was running 26's, maybe even 25's

Apologies to everybody, I was fully prepared for tonight but now my mates are having a birthday party for their daughter (she turns 5 on Sunday but they're having it today) and she wants me there for some reason, even though all I ever do is call her stinky and all she ever does is call me ugly... :lol:

I was only able to run a 30.9 last night anyway, so I'm quite a way off the pace and could do with the extra time to get this nose heavy SOB turning properly.

How much difference is there between a wheel and a ds3 tune? Would it be worth trying the ds3 tune in the OP even on a wheel?

from knowing one of the fastest wheel drivers for 2 years, our tunes are near enough identical. The only noticeable difference is downforce as you can reach maximum front tyre grip almost instantly on a wheel. but this is an FF car so you'll reach maximum front tyre grip as easily on DS3 lol

There will be a big difference between the two anyway as Filo's tune will be miles better, so use that :lol:

I think you're downplaying the fact that FILO is just really darn quick, in my honest opinion. Tune helps, but he's more than just tune. ;) ME on the other hand.... all tune no pace Lol

Nah, Filo is quick I know but you need the car to be comfortable. He's got the car set up to be amazing off the start and looks smooth all the way through

Car is Integra DC Type R Touring Car (the one we used to run in BTCC), with SS tyres, a low turbo and oil change raising it to 341BHP, 950KG and 499PP :)
