Should a turbo be installed from round 2 onwards?

I find them bearable, but I agree with taking them off.

Exit traction's a bit difficult to find with the turbo on and strategy's a bit limited since tire wear is really bad. I can't speak for the Motegi test cause I wasn't there, but the earlier test races we did at Silverstone without the turbos were really close and the tires had a lot of grip for the entire 5 laps we did.
I agree. It's fine when you're on your own, but side by side racing does lack. The guy on the inside accelerates, and with FF and turbo they just run you out.
Tyre wear is tricky really. At Silverstone it was just great. Motegi is a medium wear on the calendar, compared to laguna and even Tokyo. Tyres would end up being on 4/5. It is what I aimed for, but pitting one lap early means you gain 5 seconds, and by being that far out you can manage your pace and finish on target, so when the pit stops come around it's making the race spread out. We tried dropping it to fast wear but it doent seem to create the undercut in the pits as well.

i quite like the turbo, it adds to the need for practice
I don't think it adds more practice or not really. If you have a power drop, you'd most probably use it to practice. I don't know though. Like Antares said, they're fine on, but I think the racing woud be better if they came off.

I agree. ^^^
to which mate? Filo's?

I believe turbo stays :P

Just finished one of my last essays. The question was awful and everyone struggled, but somehow managed to make the same point over and over for 800 words, near 1/3 of the essay  oh the joys of uni, so i'll get OP updated in the next hour 👍

what are you studying?

I'll be around about 10ish if anyone's still on at That time need some practice
Yep that's ideal for me 👍

Yep! I've only had it for two days, but it's already rivalling Project CARS for me.
I played the demo for the new WRC awhile back and for a game that always feels like an arcade I thought it was brilliant. I know @David Talle is preferring Driveclub over PCars

Round 1 tomorrow

All info is on OP. There will be no first race success ballast or manual grid as it is race 1. There will instead be a qualifying session (1 point will be awarded to pole) which lasts 10 minutes.

If anyone is unable to make it please let me know (whether you're part or full time).

Here's to another great new season

I would much prefer turbo off because the real car doesn't have one. Honda are famous for creating pure, naturally aspirated engines of perfection. Sounds like it will help the racing, too.

Great to have you onboard mate

I agree, but turbo will be staying so we'll see how it goes.

As far as I know we should have near a full grid unless people are AWOL, will open up in around an hour

Can we remind everyone not to be overly aggressive tonight? I guess people were somewhat rusty last week, but there's still no need to launch yourself down the inside of someone when you're never going to make the corner.

Yes, as said after last week I hope people calm down. May just be out of practice, but we look set for some extremely close running, and it would be a shame to have it ruined by a silly unnecessary move.

@samdigby is a friend who will hope to join us. He's been in a Dream Car series and an SLS series with me. EDIT: Not sure if he will attend. He's going to join gtplanet soon. Maybe put him as reserve?

I'm hosting a test room at the moment. No tyre wear or fuel usage, so people can get a baseline feel for the car. (Like me!)

The car feels perfect without turbo or oil change. If it's kept for the rest of the series, I'll find a different series. Nothing personal, there's just so much choice these days I can find something that's just how I like it. (And a bit more authentic, arguably.)
