Alright, keep in mind that both key parts of the riddle are subjective. What you think doesn't look silly will look silly to others. The "test run" bit has 2 meanings under it. It's what I would think is fun to test run around a track, but also try to think of another game that can relate to "test run".

I guess they went "screw this" or something. There's no way I could scare them off, I'm not even at the riddle level that sparky and rally were at.
Anyway, those are both wrong, but are in the correct continent. The car I'm thinking of is indeed european and yup it's Top Gear.
