The CR-X Del-Sol LM is a speed machine that's not expected of as in; it's a racecar that you wouldn't to expect to see in a racing game and I bet it was a bit of a surprise to players like it was to me when I first played the original Gran Turismo. It went on to become a popular race car between GT1 & 2, but for some reason; Polyphony digital forgot about it and never bothered bringing it back in the later GTs. It was also baffeling as it was mid-engined & RWD while a normal CRX Del Sol is Front Engined & FWD.
