One thing about acoustics over electric is you learn to be more accurate. They emphasize mistakes more.

Yeah, that's why most guitarist begin on an acoustic. Because it's easier to play an electric, so you learn the more difficult unforgiving acoustic first so then you have no problems on the electric.

Yes and no...lol....frett buzz is a little less detectable on an electric...with OD
you can really make it sound like you meant to play that...

And wider string spacing at the bridge (and often nut) makes both fretting and picking accuracy easier.

You can go back and forth between the two with pros and cons as to which ones easier, it all comes down to what you are playing.

OD, Distorted and fuzz laden power chords on a electric will hide a multitude of sins, however a fast finger-picked piece and the use of drone is much easier on an acoustic (Spanish or classical in particular) due to the difference in string spacing.

Sounding good on either is more about the player that what you are using.

New amp has been ordered and is on its way.

VHT Special 6 head and cab (1x12). Single end class A, all valve kicking out 6watts its effectively a version of the original Fender Champ.

Went for it mainly because its so damn old-school in terms of design (not a PCB in sight) and sound, should be here next week and I can't wait.

The components are mounted on a PCB and the quality of components looks very poor .
I would say the amp would not sound very good .

You appear to have no idea what you are on about, the amp doesn't contain a single PCB at all, every component is hand-wired to turret eyelet board.

You may say the amp sounds no good, oddly enough every person who has ever reviewed one seems to disagree with you.

However I strongly suspect the real issue here is that you were banned from GT Planet by me (and the rest of the staff) for being a genocidal, racist idiot (who knows nothing about guitars).

PCB= Printed Circuit Board. This I know from some years in electronics.

Judging from the photos, they doesn't seem to be anything on the board that doesn't look like every other audio board.

Sound quality should be fine. IMHO....

I know, and as you can see in this shot of it...

...not a single PCB, all point to point wired on eyelet board.

And it sounds lovely.

I wasn't being cheeky. I wasn't sure you understood him right.;)
It's a lot easier to see from this photo. One thing about it, the amp itself looks simple. I've always felt, let the boxes make the effects and keep the amp clean.

Don't worry I understood him just fine, he knows nothing about amps and was simply a banned member from GTP out to cause trouble.

Quite agree, keep it nice and simple, its actually based around the old Fender single ended amp designs and for clean and overdriven sounds is great, doesn't do high gain at all, but I'm not remotely after that so its suits me just fine.

I no longer have an amp. I use my Ipad now. I have Amplitube for Ipad. I just slap on headphones and make all the noise I want..

I don't have an iPad, but I have played around on Amplitube and its great fun, couldn't see it replacing an amp full time for me.

It's not for everyone. About 15 years ago I built a pocket amp for my brother who was travelling around Fuji, Bora Bora. It had sustain, fuzz, clean.
It worked great with headphones, but the Ipad is about 12.647 lightyears ahead.
