I might try the PC setup for GTR 2003 or a similar game some time, but the downside of the PC world is that there isn't really a decent simulation that does regular cars, which I really enjoy racing with. GTR's sim of racing cars is awesome though, and I'm sure that I'm going to try that someday (when I get my PC in order again)

The GTR game is a mod for the F1 2002 PC game, therefore, there are no limitations in terms of available tracks or cars other than what the mod/addon developers make available over the internet.

I rememeber seeing an incar video of the BMW M3 addon for the GTR mod, which ran on the Nürburgring Nordshliefe. There were more than 20 cars on track at the same time. It was really awesome.

The GTR mod has so many parameters in it´s driving engine : tire pressure, camber, caster, toe-in, spring rates, damper rates, body height, front and rear downforce, gear ratios, radiator size, radiator air flow, oil temp, water temp, etc, etc. There is also body and/or engine damage, online races, chat, clutch, sequential or H-gate shifter, surround sound, etc. It is the closest thing to real driving, and to what most of us want from the GT series in the future.

I think what I'm gonna do is: As I already have a DFP wheel, get the Frex sequential shifter mod and maybe the handbrake (E-Brake) mod too. Then find some way of fixing them to the left hand side of the AshDesign game stand I've ordered.

This way it will be a realistic as seems possible with GT4. I H pattern would be great, but like someone else said, without a clutch it wouldn't really work correctly.

But look at it like this, most road cars with manuals use an H pattern, a small minority use padel shift (360, Vanquish etc). Then's there's race cars; WRC Rally cars use sequential sticks, GT cars use the same, F1 cars use paddels.

So there's no way that you gonna be able to create a setup thats gonna be right for every car in GT4. Unless of course you have 3 seperate gear sticks 💡

I'm gonna have to check out GTR once I upgrade my computer, it's certainly promising. I'm more interested in F1 2004 atm, but I'll see what happens. I think an H shifted would be quite cool - I've always sorta loathed the shifters on most wheels, but I don't like the look of the H shifters I've seen here, I'd rather something I could mount down lower beside me like in a real car, and it'd have to be sturdy as all hell.

Ive just been over at the Frex website, looking at the shifter upgrades they do for different wheels.

They do a sequential shifter which can be used on the Driving Force Pro for sure, and there's an H pattern shifter (like a real manual gear box) they do, but it doesn't if it can be used on the DFP or not, just that it a stand-alone USB device. But after watching a video of it in use, I'm sure its connected upto a DFP?!

Does anyone know anything about this? I'd love to have an H pattern shifter for Granny Rismo 👍

And what game is that he's playing? You can only hear it but the car he's driving sounds awesome! :D

Here's a link to the video....Click me crazy fool!

That would be very realistic if I had an H-pattern shifter and some pedals with a clutch pedal also

I really just want an E-Brake lever for the wheel. I don't really mind having the sequential because without a clutch it seems pointless to have an H-shifter (it would be cool but you still wouldn't have that same effect)

But having the E-Brake would make rally so much more fun. I've seen people use the sequential shifter for the E-Brake and then use the padle shifters, but with the 900° of motion it's hard to hit those padle shifters.

Amazing. Did you design it? Is there any delay in down shifts? Does it down shift too early on cars with long gearing? What if you accidently go into sixth gear slot in a car with five speeds? All you have to do is package that nicer and sell it.

Man would it kill Sony to make a 6 speed shifter? They can do it, I don't care what anyone says about limited # of outputs etc... look at the dvd remote, 30+ buttons! Sony could make one and the drivers to match. All GT4 would have to do is make it so when you are using a controller one oft heshoulder buttons is the clutch!
