Its not at all like St. Valentine's Day. Hallow's eve is one of them special nights when wierdos can be cool, cosplayers get outdone by regular folks and imagination runs wild. Plus I get to be a complete nut case and people just think "Ah, well, it's Halloween" instead of calling the police like they would any other night.
Valentine's Day - People waste money on Gifts and Chocolate for their lovers.

Halloween - People waste money on Costumes and Candy.

You can say that for other days, and I do think it is used as a Marketing Scam to but I feel that other days have more reason to be there in comparison.

I don't know anyone that does either of those things. Most costumes I see are DIY'd from old gear or cobbled together from items already owned. I've not know anyone to waste money on sweets since I was 10. Waste money on beer, yes, but candy and the like, not in my experience.

It doesn't have to be about money and corporate greed if you don't let it.

Since I got the Los Pollos Hermanos apron from Loot Crate I will be a Los Pollos Hermanos employee.

And I want to see pictures after Halloween. My daughter would love to see @RedDragon as Elsa.

Blue jeans and a plain white T-shirt was easy but it's hard finding a red jacket like Fry's. You know, a simple and light jacket not a dinner jacket, rain coat or Michelin man coat . Tried looking in the charity shops and Tesco but there's still hope in the sports shops in the big shopping centres.

Pretty sure you'll find those in big sports shops easily. One of those off-brand ones should be cheap and do the trick.

.

Completely disagree because one of those is literally centered around something you should do All year with your significant other and not just that one time of year. The other isn't even close to comparable and everyone has fun with it.

Think I am going to a party with my Girlfriend this year. I will upload my costume or my mask later this month or later.

The only applicable jacket is €80! And it's Nike, which infuriates me because you know it's only cost €0.80 to manufacture.

Anything I source online isn't guaranteed to arrive on time. I might have to bite the bullet on this one; then again, spending €80 on a proper jacket is a justifiable purchase.

Holy...! Really?! Wow, that's waaaaaay off the prices I had in mind.

I'm 13, and this is probably my last year of trick or treating. I have no idea what I am going to be yet. Probably something general, like a ghost or a zombie.

When I was in third grade I dressed up as President Barack Obama. It was by far my best halloween costume.

Ken, enjoy your little girl. My little girl is now 32, they just grow up too quick. Heck my grandsons are too old to dress up & trick or treat now. The time flies past...

I've got four. But I cherish every second I can.

Knowing your situation, Ken - nice work. Well done holding things together; now I manage just the handouts - kids are so big they are into the 'bigger' Halloween parties and take off for the night. :sly:

Halloween was a blast here - depending on the neighborhood. Lots of homes dressed up as cemeteries, all sorts of ghouls walking the streets high on sugar, costume parties that are secretly valentine parties . . . must be a culture thing.

I guess one has to grow up with it to enjoy it, let alone understand it. ;)

Happy Halloween! :)

Only one group of kids went tricking or treating at my house. That means I get a giant bag of candy and chocolate all for myself now.
