Hi, I have seen a couple of threads about hand brake modifications somewhere on "Racing hardware" forum but I think my short review of what I found will be MORE interesting here...
So, first of all, people want to upgrade thier G25-27 with some kind of independent handle with external switch connected to the button on a shifter base. THIS E-Brake will work like "ON"/"OFF" only.
I have independent hand brake connected to a controller under my stand by means of a simple flexible springs so it cant damage the stick wich it connected with.
1.This controller used to be a handbrake is assined as No.1 in PS3
2.Handbrake handle is connected to the left stick which is assined as handbrake in GT5. When it moves backwards.
3.After some tests I can CONFIDENTLY CONFIRM that this stick works NOT like ON/OFF, I sligthly move my handle - car slows down without wheels lock, and further, continuing moving handle to the end/stop position of a stick car's rear wheels lock.
So, summary, I find it more REAL to use an additional controller instead of electric switch wired in to the shifter base electric board.
On demand, I can provide a photos of my hand brake, so you can see that it has a back limiter as well and rubber dumper which gives you a feeling of a reallike one.
Peace!
